TAKING THE LEAD AND LIGHTING UP THE WAY........

Seemingly primitive; medieval; archaic and conservative Indonesia and Pakistan seem to have assumed the leading role as far as giving transgenders their due rights and lost dignity are concerned........
Yogyakarta; Indonesia took the lead in matters of constructing and erecting the first of it's kind mosque almost exclusively meant for the marginalised; victimised; ostracised and vilified "transgender" community and Islamabad will soon join Yogyakarta by erecting a similar edifice.......
Transgender rights activist and co-founder of the Shemale Association for Fundamental Rights (SAFAR) Nadeem Kashish is the moving/guiding force behind the erection of this mosque with a difference that can accommodate a little more than 1;000 or so devouts at a given time.......
Taking to her twitter handle to express her deep rooted sense of outrage/chagrin/angst and anguish at the inhuman and demonic manner in which the transgenders residing within Pakistan have been thus far treated by their seemingly "blessed and able" fellow Pakistanis Ms. Kashish held out the fervent hope that the construction of this much desired and cherished mosque would herald or then usher in the winds of change within an ultra conservative and decadent society that has taken undue pride in haranguing and harassing their so called "lesser privileged" fellow denizens.......
Nadeem also exhorted and implored her countrymen and women to put a stop to the reprehensible and abhorrent trend of turning the law on the transgender community for every imagined and flighty slight and begin according them their due dignity and respect at long last........
SAFAR has certainly taken the lead in matters pertaining to transgender rights and dignity within Pakistan; one wonders whether our home grown transgender rights activists and other similarly inclined folks would follow in it's wake sooner rather than later........
