Ending a rather lengthy period of speculation and conjecture sources linked to the project confirmed the news that Kai Po Che fame Sushant Singh Rajput will romance Highway fame Alia Bhatt in this yet to be titled venture that will be helmed by the irrepressible and somewhat eccentric Homi Adjania.......
What is even more noteworthy is the fact that this yet to be titled venture will feature two love stories set in separate and disparate eras starring Sushant; Alia and a stellar ensemble cast that is being firmed or finalised even as we share details about this novel venture..........
This film surely seems to have a lot going for it; the spotless and mint fresh pairing of Sushant and Alia to begin with; followed by a script that promises to be a little hatke and contrary to whatever one might have come to expect from the Hindi film industry as a matter of course...........

DAUGHTER FALLS PREY TO FATHER'S RAPACIOUS TENDENCIES.......

If you cannot love and trust your very own father; then whom can your trust and revere???? a father/daughter relationship is the most hallowed and unsullied relationship of them all in my humble opinion; alas!! this father chose to sully and tarnish the very same..........
A class XI student of a Chandigarh based government school shocked or rather startled the entire city by filing a rape complaint against her very own father at a local police station earlier this week.........
According to the complaint filed by the survivor; her 52 year old father firstly forced himself upon her within the parameters of her bedroom in the house shared by them in the city's sector 52 on Tuesday night and as if the trauma and shame of the first unwelcome and unwarranted assault was not enough; he repeated the same rapacious behaviour on Thursday night..........
At her wits end and shocked beyond words; the doughty survivor confided in her school principal and narrated her tale of woe to him on Friday morning and this noteworthy in turn immediately summoned the local police authorities and proceeded to file an official complaint against the tormentor and monstrous father on the very same morning.........
What is even more appalling is the fact that the victim in her written complaint alleged that her father had continually raped her over a 5 day period a little over 2 years ago but then remonstrated before her and beseeched her to overlook his "transgression" as just one of those things..........
According to the investigating officer; a case has been registered against the accused on the basis of the written complaint filed by the survivor and her principal and the survivor will duly record her statement in the presence of a judicial magistrate on Saturday morning; the initial interrogation of the accused has been duly expedited and he has since been remanded to 7 days police custody by the concerned judicial authority...........

PRIYANKA CHOPRA ISSUES LEGAL NOTICE TO MANIK SONI.........

Call it whatever you will; a belated effort to save her own skin or then an effort to start afresh with an utterly clean slate; whatever her reasons for the same may be; Ms. Priyanka Chopra has terminated her "relationship" with the owner of the now disgraced "Charisma Spa and Beauty Outlet"......
One may well remember that I had carried the news about Ms. Priyanka Chopra being in scalding hot waters/serious legal wrangles following the police raids carried out on the above mentioned spa cum beauty saloon that was being run by one Manik Soni from a leased building located on a property belonging to Ms. Priyanka Chopra in Mumbai's Versova locality............
Though an utterly crestfallen and dismayed Ms. Priyanka Chopra has not commented on this unsavoury episode as yet; her mother who runs a clinic on the first floor of the now infamous building did indeed confirm that she (read Priyanka) had through her legal counsel sent a legal notice to Soni as well as his manager Dinesh Chandrakant who is currently in judicial custody informing them about her intentions to sever all ties with them as well as cancelling the lease for the said property.........
What was that someone said about committing follies in the morning and rectifying/alleviating the same in the evening...........

HUMBLE RED CHERRY OR DEADLY WEAPON..........

The humble and unpretentious red cherry seems to have assumed deathly proportions all of a sudden; firstly came the news of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes untimely demise and close on it's heels follows the news of a similar incident having occurred in Israel.........
A first class/international umpire as well as former skipper of the Israeli cricket team passed away a couple of days after Phillip Hughes after being struck on the jaw area by a cricket ball that was supposedly hurled in his direction........
A statement released by the country's cricketing association said that investigators investigating the bizarre incident that occurred early on Saturday morning had completely ruled out foul play in the macabre incident that led to the demise of 55 year old Hillel Oscar in the southern port city of Ashdod..........
What is even more tragi-comic is the fact that Saturday's game was the last game slated to be played on Israeli cricket grounds during the calendar year 2014 and all cricket lovers in Israel are deeply devastated and grieved by the news of the death of Oscar........
Apart from having led the Israeli cricket team with great distinction; Oscar also donned the twin hat of a well loved; admired and revered umpire who not only officiated with distinction in Israel itself; but also did the same with rare distinction and aplomb in European countries where cricket is followed and played.............
Though they have ruled out foul play in the unbelievable incident; senior Israeli police officials have confirmed that investigations are still on to ascertain the exact cause of Oscar's premature demise; "all that we know at this time is that a ball was hurled in his direction and the same struck him down; what we are trying to establish is the sequence of events preceding and succeeding this unsavoury episode"; a senior Israeli police official said...........
No matter whatever the reason behind Oscar's ghastly death may be; there is no getting away from the fact that the 5 and a half ounce red cherry has assumed ominous and threatening proportions and it's starring role in two deathly incidents on the cricket fields seems a little too coincidental for my liking at least..........

Well; well' well; see who is resurrected from the dead after a decade and more........
Congress party Member of Parliament and sometime spokesperson Raj Babbar must certainly be cock a hoop as his rather pompous declaration about a stint in the infamous Bigg Boss House doing wonders to the near extinct careers of it's inmates now stands vindicated.........
Though the news emanating from the Sajid Nadiadwala camp does not concern either Raj Babbar or his offspring Arya Babbar it certainly does pertain to a former Bigg Boss inmate or participant one Arman Kohli who was last seen on the big screen in J.P. Priyanka Chopra's untarnished and unsullied name was dragged into the muck once again when a spa located on a property leased by the actress to it was found to be running a flourishing clandestine sex trade within it's precincts when the Mumbai cops raided the same earlier this week........
Though the investigating officers are yet to establish any kind of link whatsoever between the unsavoury and sleazy activities that went on in the spa and the actress per se; the very fact that the spa was established on a property owned by Ms. Priyanka Chopra has certainly succeeded in raising more than a few eyebrows and sent the rumour mills churning/ablaze,,,,,,.....
According to a report that featured prominently in a widely circulated Mumbai daily on Friday; the spa that Ms. Priyanka Chopra had leased out her prime Versova property to allegedly was the hub of a flourishing and ultra successful sex enterprise and a lot more besides.........
Charisma Spa and Beauty Centre was raided by the Mumbai police late on Thursday night following a hot tip off about the so called spa being nothing more than a mere front or apology for a spate of illegal and unwelcome activities........
Though; the police personnel who raided the centre were eminently successful in busting a flourishing brothel and call girl racket; the owner/proprietor of this den of vice one Manik Soni was allegedly tipped off in advance about the possibility of his enterprise being raided and hence made good his escape before the raiding party made it's appearance...........
According to police sources a computer seized from the centre and other documents conclusively prove that Soni was indeed the owner of this brothel and had leased the property from Ms. Chopra for a princely sum; further investigations into this sordid matter are on and the Mumbai police are more than optimistic about proving the tenuous or then undeniable links between Ms. Chopra and Mr. Soni once they lay their tentacles on him..........

What is it about incumbent Indian Prime Minister that makes the stereotypical Aam Aadmi hurl invectives at him and continually take pot shots at him no matter however misplaced and misguided the same may be.........
At the outset; let me confess that I am neither a Modi fan; acolyte; campwallah; hold no brief for him and if anything have been a staunch and virulent critic of his style of functioning and increasingly divisive communal agenda that has only served to create deep rooted fissures within an already hopelessly divided polity and nation.........
But what gets my goat is the senseless and meaningless political invective that is hurled at Modi for no fault of his by so called political commentators who seem to know no better and want to score political brownie points no matter how.........
Sample this for example; one comment that featured prominently on the Headlines Today Ticker tape last night poked fun at Modi's sterling foreign policy achievement vis a vis ensuring US president Barack Obama's presence as the guest of honour at India's next Republic Day celebrations slated to be held on January 26; 2015 and attributed Modi's much touted fiat accompli to Obama's political desperation rather than Modi's astutue and Chanakyan diplomacy...........
According to this self appointed and styled wise alec; Modi's so called diplomatic coup was much ado about nothing and at best a reflection of Obama's declining popularity and approval ratings back in the USA that have made him increasingly desperate to get the Indian diaspora on his side and reach out to them in order to ensure that his next shot at presidency does not turn out to be a damp squib..........
Now; here is a reality check for this wise cracking smart alec who as usual has got his facts woefully wrong and convoluted; Obama is already midway into his second term as President of the USA and cannot serve or then run for a third term even if he wants to as the US constitution does not accord any individual of serving a third term and restricts the same to two..........
Secondly; the increasingly burgeoning Indian diaspora cannot land Obama a mythical third term even if it wanted to as it simply does not have the numbers to do so and would have to align itself with at least 5-6 more ethnic minorities like the Afro- Americans; Spanish; Poles and so and so forth in order to constitute a working majority and land a cornered Obama that elusive and unreachable third shot at a presidential term........
And last but not the least; Obama's political party will have to hold a series of primaries beginning next year in order to finalise their candidate for the next presidential elections slated for November 8, 2016 (58th quadrennial Us presidential elections) and Obama at best can hope to be a rallying factor for his party's presidential candidate and nothing more besides..........

Is an invaluable and precious human life worth less than the price of two chapatis; well the answer would certainly be in the affirmative if the person who lost his life in the bargain was a resident of Akhilesh Singh Yadav's lawless and jungle like Uttar Pradesh..........
A 26 year old waiter was allegedly shot dead by a group of 8-9 inebriated; irate and incensed men within the precincts of the Libra Hotel located on Meerut's Begumpul Road a little after 10 pm on Wednesday night as he insisted that the men who shot him from close range settle their bill and pay up for the additional two chapatis/rotis they had ordered during the course of their mammoth meal..........
According to eyewitness accounts; a minimum of 8-9 totally sozzled and quarrelsome men were totally responsible for the fracas as they had picked up an increasingly raucous and acrimonious quarrel amongst themselves on the issue of settling their bill and the unfortunate waiter who was shot dead tried to intervene and sort out the fracas/imbroglio............
Despite Ratan Singh's (the waiter's) repeated entreaties and homilies; the haughty men steadfastly refused to pay for the additional rotis they had ordered and they even got into an ugly and fratricidal scuffle with him; before one amongst them whipped out a revolver in the batting of an eyelid and shot at Ratan Singh from extremely close quarters.........
Ratan Singh who originally hailed from Uttarakhand's Kumaon region in search of green pastures; had made Meerut his home ever since and was residing therein for the last eight and a bit years and his assailants fired a few shots in the air to disperse the congregation within the Libra hotel and also facilitate their facile escape from the murder site..........
On hearing the sounds of the shots being fired in the air all the people gathered in the vicinity of the Libra Hotel ran helter skelter like a group of headless chickens; though a few enterprising one's among the crowd showed the presence of mind to capture the sordid proceedings on their mobile phones which provided the police personnel who arrived on the spot a good 25 minutes or so after Ratan Singh was shot at with vital clues and also helped them in establishing the identities of Ratan Singh's cold blooded murderers..........
Lo and behold! the Meerut police sleuths managed to lay their hands on three of the eight assailants by late Thursday evening from three different locations in and around Meerut city and have launched a massive manhunt in order to nab the remaining five murderers at the earliest.........
What is most galling about the unsavoury and totally senseless incident is the fact that the Begumpul Police Station is barely located 500 metres or so away from the Libra Hotel and yet all the accused managed to make good their escape from the murder site despite letting loose a volley of shots in the air............Policing Akhilesh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Police ishytle or then simply a case of policing in accordance with the laid down wishes of their political masters and overlords.........

HOSPITAL MAID BRUTALLY GANG RAPED IN HOOGHLY DISTRICT.........

Is this an integral part and parcel of the much touted "poribartan" promised by the stormy petrel Mamata Banerjee more times than one can count.......
A young lady gainfully employed as a maid in a government hospital in Hooghly district was allegedly brutalised (gang raped) at Nazamgarh village late last (November 26) evening........
According to the complaint filed by the survivor to the local police personnel; she was on her way to work (she was to report for the night shift at around 8;30 pm or so); when four local youths who jumped out of the dense foliage adjoining the road pointed a gun at her forehead forced her to make a beeline towards a somewhat secluded banana plantation and then took turns in forcing themselves upon her more than once each...........
Despite being greatly outflanked and outnumbered; the doughty young woman put up a valiant fight only to be rewarded with a barrage of blows and kicks as well as cigarette burns on various parts of her anatomy before succumbing to the sheer and overwhelming force of far greater numbers..........
Her hellish ordeal ended about 90 minutes or so after her abduction when the four youths who brutalised and traumatised her made good their escape from the said banana plantation after threatening her with dire consequences if she as much breathed a single word about her sorry experience to any third person........
Notwithstanding the imminent threats about grievous harm to her persona as well as life; the indomitable survivor somehow made her way to the neighbouring police thana and duly registered a complaint against her four assailants who were known to her both by name as well as appearance...........
Taking due cognisance of her complaint; the Mogra police officials firstly registered an FIR against the four accused young men and subsequently proceeded to arrest three of the accused from tow different locations in the same village during the course of an early morning crackdown..........
At the present moment; the plucky survivor is undergoing treatment for the various injuries and trauma inflicted on her by her assailants; a detailed medical test carried out on her late last night (November 26 night) conclusively established the occurrence of rape..........
Senior Mogra police officials have constituted two teams and entrusted the same with the arduous responsibility of apprehending the absconding fourth accused in the case at the earliest and have exuded confidence about arresting the fourth accused youth within the next 24-48 hours.........

According to sources close to the fledgling project; matinee idol Akshay Kumar has been roped in to essay the role of the iconic magician who ruled the roost in the 50's; 60's and 70's and is reverentially known till date for his "floating lady" trick that sent more than a shiver or two down the spines of the beholders with both it's eerie atmosphere and gravity defying levity...........
P.C. Sorcar junior (progeny of the legendary magician) has been roped in as a consultant to the project and reportedly has already accorded his approval to the same; according to a few reports; he well might be training Akshay and introducing him to the nuances of this largely mystical art of magic that has mesmerised audiences for centuries........
Soumik Sen (of Gulaab Gang fame) will be directing or helming this venture which is slated to hit theatres in the latter half of 2015 and might well end up proving that Akki is a man of many moods and shades if sources close to the venture are to believed........

DAUGHTER DUPES MOTHER AND EMBEZZLES Rs. 20 LAKH IN THE BARGAIN..........

One was always aware of the fact that it takes all kinds to make the world; but the question uppermost in my mind and heart is what kind of world; a world replete with selfless acts of human kindness and the indomitable spirit of humanity or then a world full to the brim with acts of wanton pilferage and chicanery........
In an absolutely startling and eye popping incident; a 81 year old great grandmother filed a cheating and embezzlement case against her very own daughter with the disbelieving Ellisbridge (Ahmedabad) police on Tuesday evening,,,,,,,,,,,
In her written complaint; the complainant one Janaki Singapuri (81) long term resident of Samast Brahmkshatriya Housing Society; Paldi Bhattha filed a written complaint against her very own daughter Jayshree Jagiriya; her son and daughter-in-law Brajesh and Mayuri; residents of Sorainagar; Vasna accusing them of fraudulently obtaining her signatures on an undisclosed number of blank cheques and withdrawing more than Rs. 20 lakh from her bank account w.e.f. February 2009 onwards........
According to police sources; Ms. Jagiriya had obtained her mother's signatures on an undisclosed number of cheques on the pretext of taking care of mundane and everyday financial transactions such as settling all the tax related claims on time; settling telephone and electricity bills and last but not the least paying the monthly maintenance amounts to the housing society in which Jagiriya's mother used to reside........
Ms. Janaki Singapuri was blissfully unaware of her very own blood relatives duplicity; chicanery and fraud until the fateful Tuesday evening when her bank manager apprised her of the unsavoury and sordid fact that a sum of a little over Rs. 22 lakh had been withdrawn from her bank account with the very same cheques signed by her for a variety of reasons..........
This startling disclosure by her bank manager prompted an utterly disgruntled and disconsolate Janaki Singapuria to file a case of cheating and fraud against her very own flesh and blood who all but drained out her hard gotten financial resources when she needed them the most in times of medical difficulties; ailments and infirmities..........
While the Ellisbridge police personnel have taken due cognisance of Ms. Singapuri's complaint and registered cases against the accused trio under all the applicable and requisite sections of the IPC; they are currently making valiant efforts to establish the whereabouts of the now absconding trio and record their version of events.........

CENTRES OF LEARNING OR HAVENS OF CRIME AND VENGEANCE..........

Schools are far from being the havens of education; learning; discipline; dedication; respect; loving and caring that we we were accustomed to during our growing up years..........
While there is no denying the fact that we played more than our fair share of pranks; mischief; mayhem and left no stone unturned in our relentless efforts to drive our teachers round the bend; everything was done with an air of innocence; naivete and without any malicious intent or then ulteriormotives.........
Now let's turn our attention to schools as they are today; in an incident bordering on the macabre; bizarre, insane and inhuman an unwitting and unsuspecting class VII student of the government run school in Anugonda Village of Mahbubnagar District (Telangana State) was randomly and inexplicably set ablaze by unidentified miscreants late on Tuesday night.............
Narendar (the class VII student and victim) was set upon by a yet to be identified group of miscreants who accosted him and then set him ablaze in the batting of an eyelid; alerted by his piteous cries for help; fellow students residing in the school hostel; cook and watchman of the same facility rushed out and were flabbergasted to see a fellow student up in flames.........
They somehow managed to regain some vestiges of sanity; doused the flames engulfing Narendar and then rushed him to the adjoining district hospital where the doctors pronounced their inability to treat him and advised the victim's family and well wishers to shift him to the Hyderabad based Osmania General Hospital for the much required palliative care and treatment...........
After a good two hours or so; Narendar's sorrowing family members managed to summon an ambulance and rush him to the afore mentioned hospital where the doctors treating him held out little hope of his making a complete recovery as he had suffered extensive "third degree" burn injuries on more than 75% of his fledgling body...........
In what might well turn out to be his dying declaration; Narendar haltingly mentioned the fact that he was set ablaze by a group of students who had surreptitiously emerged from the very bushes in which he was relieving himself on that fateful Tuesday night.........
According to police sources; they are trying to ascertain whether this group of students is the same group that had accused Narendar of stealing money from them while they were in school on Monday and will only be able to carry investigations further if some eyewitness or the other comes forward and corroborates Narendar's statement vis a vis his assailants..........
Like I said earlier; schools today are not even a patch on the schools that we had grown to love and revere during our growing up years..........

TENDULKAR TAKES UP CUDGELS ON BEHALF OF SARITA DEVI..........

In a welcome and somewhat abrupt departure from his normally stoic; staid and reticent ways; cricketing legend Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has openly committed his support and allegiance to the cause of furthering and fostering suspended woman boxer Sarita Devi's case with the authorities that matter.........
In a letter written to Union Sports Minister; Sarbananda Sonowal a few days back; Tendudkar candidly admitted that he was deeply perturbed; dismayed and appalled by the lackadaisical and lethargic attitude adopted by both Indian Boxing's parent body as well as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).........
Tendulkar in his letter said that though there is no question of pardoning or simply over looking Sarita's less than sportsman like behaviour during the medal presentation ceremony after losing her semi final bout in highly controversial and suspect circumstances to her South Korean opponent in the Incheon Asian Games ; the proposed life ban proposed by International Amateur Boxing's parent body seemed a clear cut case of overkill as well as trying a little too hard to make an example of an emotionally distressed and distraught individual..........
Sarita's actions were nothing more than an emotional outburst against the apparent wrong meted out to her by the ringside officials at the end of her semi final bout that ended or concluded in less than exemplary circumstances as both Sarita as well as a significant majority of the amateur boxing world were of the considered view that the proposed life ban was clearly a case of overkill and that the manner needed to be disposed off in a manner that furthered the cause as well as personal interests of both Sarita as well as International Amateur Boxing's governing body..........
One may well do well to recall the fact that Ms. Sarita Devi had initially refused to receive her bronze medal from the concerned authorities as well as awarded the same to her Korean opponent following the completion of the medal distribution ceremony in her pet event (60 kg category)..........

Pointing out or highlighting the fact that Sarita had already tendered an unconditional apology and expressed remorse at her "eccentric" behaviour; Tendulkar strongly urged the concerned sports as well as prime minister to take up her case vigorously and painstakingly in order to all but diminish the overhanging or implied threat of a live ban looming large over the horizon........
Imploring the sports minister to immediately set up or constitute a specialised task force comprising of senior officials of the Indian Olympic Association; Boxing Federation as well as noted legal minds and empowering it to represent Sarita's case effectively and efficaciously thereby minimising her chances of contracting a life ban for her unprovoked emotional outburst........
Expressing his gratitude and thanks to the sports minister; Tendulkar said that he for one was more than hopeful about the sports minister taking up Sarita's case in a vigorous and uncompromising manner thereby earning her that much desired and deserved pardon........

TOMATO LESS OMELETTE TRIGGERS WAR BETWEEN HUSBAND AND WIFE...........

Is serving your lawfully wedded husband a tomato less omelette a crime???? well it would certainly seem so if the despicable and deplorable actions of this irate gent are any yardstick or parameter to go by........
Oh! how the times have changed; I for one ardently remember my parents taking pot shots at each other for sins or then errors of judgement committed at the spur of the or then in the heat of moment but then having the fortitude and humanism to make up; apologise to each other and let bygones be bygones.........
Circa 2014; an irate, incensed and highly irrational gent severely beat up his legally wedded heavily pregnant wife late on Wednesday night for the supposedly heinous and cardinal crime of serving him a tomato less omelette in Madhya Pradesh's Mhow town.........
According to the grievously injured woman's family sources; the copiously bleeding woman had to be rushed to a corporate hospital and is currently recovering from the horrendous ordeal in the hospital's ICU as the doctor's attending on her thought it prudent to keep her therein for the nest 72 hours for observation and treatment........
Farzana (the battered woman) in a written complaint filed before the senior officials of the Mhow police alleged that she was being harassed for additional dowry by her husband Shafiq and his parents (her in-laws) ever since she had entered their home as Shafiq's legally wedded wife.......
Farzana however kept trying to make a fist of her less than ideal marital circumstances and kept her chin up notwithstanding the constant barbs and innuendos; matters however came to a head late on Wednesday night when Shafiq reached home after duly completing his day's work and imperiously demanded an omelette forthwith.........
Farzana who was unduly fatigued by the travails of an increasingly difficult and cumbersome pregnancy somehow managed to wend her way into the kitchen and rustle up an omelette as per her husband's demands; however owing to her fatigue and forlornness she somehow forgot to add the required quantity of tomatoes to the said omelette and this cardinal (????) sin brought her husband's untold wrath down on her..........
A sharp; acrimonious and acerbic verbal quarrel broke out between Shafiq and Farzana following which Shafiq turned upon her and started raining a series of blows on her with his fists; legs and head and all this while his parents kept on goading and inciting him to do one better and land the next blow in a spot where it would cause the maximum damage possible...........
A moaning and semi-conscious Farzana somehow managed to keep her senses together and telephonically inform her disbelieving parents of her pitiable plight; though initially taken aback; her parents rushed to her aid from their dwelling in the Khargone village area; rushed her to the neighbouring police station; registered a complaint against the now absconding husband and in-laws; finally admitting her to the afore mentioned corporate hospital where she is currently recovering from the hellish ordeal.............
Cases have since been booked against five persons: Shafiq; his parents Rafeek and Gultaj; brother Sabeek and last but not the least younger sister Sayna under all the applicable and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)........
All the five accused are currently on the run and the Mhow police are unduly optimistic about their prospects of apprehending them within the next 72-96 hours or so..........

FARHAN AKHTAR ON GENDER EQUALITY........

Taking his much debated and widely supported "Men Against Rape And Discrimination" (MARD) initiative more than a couple of steps further; noted Hindi film maker and actor Farhan Akhtar once again gave a clarion call for Gender Equality on the occasion of International Men's Day.........
Akhtar who recently set the domestic box office ablaze with his soul stirring act in the much acclaimed and universally applauded "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" is currently neck deep in the post production processes of little sister Zoya Akhtar's next directorial venture "Dil Dhadakne Do" as well as a new venture tentatively titled "Do" co-starring living legend Amitabh Bachchan...........
This somewhat maverick 40 year old has not only explored and mastered the various facets of film making; acting; script writing; dialogue writing and singing but is also eponymous with raising and pioneering various Gender Equality related issues through his highly regarded (MARD) social initiative..........
Akhtar sent out a series of tweets imploring all right minded individual's to ensure that this International Men's Day went down in history as a marker or renewed beginning for the almost obscure art of the understanding of how the present generation can create and envision a future that does not discriminate between the two sexes in any manner whatsoever"...........
Here's to hoping and praying that all men with blinkers on pay heed to Mr. Akhtar's sage and welcome advice regarding the ending of the existing inequalities and anomalies between the sexes.........

HANSAL MEHTA ONCE AGAIN STIRS UP DEBATE ON ARTICLE 377.........

Trust the stormy petrel of the Hindi film industry; noted film maker Hansal Mehta to stir up a hornet's nest and tell it like it is whenever he decides to announce his next venture.........
Still basking in the unprecedented success of his last two directorial ventures Shahid and City Lights; Mehta announced his next film based on a sexual escapade between a soon to be super annuated Aligarh Muslim University Professor and humble rickshaw wallah that threw both their unremarkable and mundane lives into a vortex of slime and controversy from which the two of them are still recovering..........
One may do well to recall the fact that practically every journal; newspaper; publication in the country had some time back prominently featured a consensual sexual piccadiloe between the afore mentioned two individuals as the same was captured on a spy cam by a peeping tom; went viral and ultimately led to the suspension and social ostracisation of the noted professor..........
Though the sexual dalliance took place within the supposedly safe and sacrosanct four walls of the professor's apartment within the university campus and was between two consenting adults; the self appointed and styled moral brigade and police once again went on the offensive; grabbed eyeballs and headlines and only rested on their dubious and ill gotten laurels once the university authorities had suspended the said professor for his seemingly "unnatural and deviant" sexual proclivities that supposedly were contrary to the laws of nature and social discourse and practice.........
Hansal Mehta now plans to make a film on this "infamous" incident by launching the same in January 2015 and thereby rekindle and re-initiate a frank; free and far reaching debate on the highly contentious and repressive Article 377 of the Indian Constitution which was framed by the British and is completely irrelevant; obscure; archaic and oxymoronish when juxtaposed against the sexual mores and practices of a so called progressive and enlightened Indian society.........
Noted actor Manoj Bajpai has thus far been roped in to essay the epochal role of the university professor while a few other reputed actors are being short listed to play the role of the rickshaw wallah; on being asked about the need to make this film; Mehta says; "the same is my way of my raising my voice against the reprehensible and deplorable tendency to marginalise and segregate people on the grounds of their religion; sexual preferences; practices and the like".........
"The same also clearly highlights my steadfast and vehement opposition to the draconian and archaic Article 377 of the Indian Constitution that expressly prohibits and forbids consensual and willing sex between two adults from the same sex even though the same act is carried out within the four walls of an individual's home and hearth".........
"How does a sexual encounter or romp between two willing and consensual adults make an iota of difference in the life and times of these self appointed and anointed guardians of our culture and morality who do a lot worse and then adopt an utterly hypocritical ;holier than thou' attitude that has more holes in it than the the moon"..........
"I have quite a few gay and lesbian friends whose housing societies and residents' welfare associations mirror both the state as well as these extra constitutional authorities that have abrogated unto themselves the role of the moral police; I for one am of the firm belief that only the individual concerned has the right to determine his/her sexual practices and nobody else on the planet has the right to either point fingers or then raise objections about the same": a highly disturbed and visibly fuming Mehta signs off.........
Well; I can't comment about you; but I for one whole heartedly endorse Mr. Hansal Mehta's views and take on Article 377; we are the land of the Kamasutra which is nothing more than a celebration and vivid description of the sensual and ergonomic art of love making; so can we cut out the unwanted and undesirable hypocrisy/moral policing and get on with the business of living our lives in the manner that we want to.........

AYESHA SHROFF RECEIVES THREATENING CALLS.........

After a rather lengthy lull or rather long interval; unsavoury elements who had made a business out of threatening Hindi film industry bigwigs with dire consequences seem to be making a surreptitious comeback through the back door.........
In the latest such instance to come to the fore; Hindi Film industry matinee idol Jackie Shroff's better half Ayesha Shroff approached the Bandra (Mumbai) police last (November 18,2014) evening and filed a fresh FIR alleging that she had off late been receiving threatening calls from an unknown number..........
Confirming the news; a senior inspector from the very same police station said that Ayesha Shroff had reached the police station at around 7 pm or so last evening in the company of her husband and son and then proceeded to file a complaint to the effect that she had been receiving threatening calls from the same unknown number for the last 5 odd days...........
Ayesha Shroff had also filed an official complaint earlier this month (on November 8, 2014) against former business partner; actor Sahil Khan alleging that Sahil Khan had cheated her of a sum in excess of Rs. 5 crore during their professional relationship and the Bandra police is now trying to establish whether or not this latest spate of threatening phone calls have any remote link with the complaint filed by Ayesha Shroff against Sahil Khan who is known to have close contacts with some rather unsavoury and infamous elements..........

Is this indeed the end of the road for team India's most successful opening partnership???? it well may be as the duo have opted out of the North Zone side that is slated to take on East Zone in the semi finals of the iconic Deodhar Trophy...........
According to both cricketing pundits as well as analysts; Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have all but put a full stop to their team India related hopes and aspirations (harbouring hopes of making a comeback) by abruptly pulling out of the North Zone Deodhar Trophy squad at the eleventh hour........
According to informed sources; a few uncomfortable questions might have been raised during the selection committee meeting pertaining tot the inclusion of Viru and Gauti in the North Zone squad as they had respectively aggregated 122 and 178 runs from 5 matches in the recently concluded North Zone leg of the Vijay Hazare trophy but would have still made the cut considering their pedigree and sterling past records........
In their absence; the North Zone team will now be led by veteran off spinner Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh is the only other senior cricketer to have made the cut (squad) as the selection committee led by former Indian test opener Vikram Rathour has decided to award the youngsters who did their state teams proud by scoring runs and snaring wickets by the dozen in the Vijay Hazare trophy..........

JUVENILE RAPE........

In the latest instance of rape or then sexual assault involving two minors; a 9 year old girl was brutally sexually assaulted by a 15 year old boy in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district on late Sunday evening........
According to the local police authorities; a 9 year old girl was barbarically sexually assaulted by a 15 year old boy belonging to the same village late on Sunday evening; the 9 year old survivor who suffered grievous and critical injuries during the course of the unprovoked assault is in a "critical" condition and is currently undergoing treatment at the government run district hospital.........
According to a fellow villager; the hapless and unsuspecting 9 year old was busy playing all by herself right outside her modest dwelling when the 15 year old main accused who happens to be the survivor's immediate neighbour caught hold of her land and led her to a deserted and desolate spot where he forced himself upon her..........
He subsequently made good his escape from the spot after duly satisfying his raging sexual urges and desires as soon as the survivor passed out from the various injuries inflicted by her tormentor on her fledgling body............
She somehow managed to wend her way towards home and hearth and informed her utterly crestfallen and disbelieving parents about the sorry fate that had befallen her; her parents in turn rushed towards the local police station and registered a complaint against the accused.......
Acting with remarkable alacrity and rare sensibility; the area police firstly rushed the battered and bruised 9 year old to the district hospital and then proceeded to arrest the accused 15 year old from a friend's house within the same village later on that very Sunday night..........
Conforming to laid down procedures in this regard; the local police produced the accused before a court that sent him to a juvenile justice home cum correctional facility on Monday morning.........
Right time to revisit the existing laws pertaining to his age old malaise and tweaking them in order to address or revisit the situation as it stands today methinks; what are your views on this one............

KILL/ DIL OR GOOF BALL.........

Constant and repeated exposure to "intelligent" and world class cinema has certainly succeeded in making a significant majority of our audiences that much more demanding and far less tolerant of repeated gaffes that seem to inundate most if not all Hindi film releases.........
Queen and Haider; to name just two; were the films that have remained etched in my memory ever since I saw or rather viewed them in two different friendly neighbourhood multiplexes and more significantly these two sterling efforts also conspicuously underlined the fact that Indian film makers can certainly push the envelope and more in terms of technique; story telling; performances; script; screenplay; sensibilities; characterisation; cinematography and a lot more besides if they apply their heart and soul to the fine art of film making.......
Like always; there is also a flip side to this coin and Yashraj Productions Shaad Ali helmed so called romantic thriller "Kill Dil" which released worldwide on November 14; 2014 certainly sent the ascendant fortunes of the Hindi film industry plummeting and how.........
Dev (the character essayed by Ranveer Singh); is supposedly a paanchvi fail according to Guru Govinda (Bhaiyya Ji) but effortlessly slips in and out of both Hindi as well as the Queen's English with consummate ease and dexterity depending upon the scene and situation; maybe Shaad Ali has never ever heard and seen a paanchvi fail who struggled or then made his way there with the greatest of difficulty or then he had too much on his plate to flesh out Ranveer's character with due care and diligence.........
During the unfolding of the four and a half minute birthday ditty (Haapu budday to you) picturised on Parineeti; Ali Zafar; Ranveer Singh and innumerable friends and hangers on night transforms into early morning and that too on horseback; on screen wizardry or then has Shaad Ali been taking lessons from one P.C. Sorcar..........
Now let's move on to two more similar situations and glaring errors; Tutu (Ali Zafar) urgently summons Dev (Ranveer Singh) to come to his rescue and rescue him from a rather sticky predicament in 15 minutes or so and lo and behold Dev uncannily arrives on the hot spot and saves his buddy from imminent death; how????? was Dev clairvoyant to begin with or then did the almighty bestow him with "DIvya Drishti".........
In the climax scene of this stinker of a film; Tutu establishes contact with Parineeti Chopra and implores her to reach the hospital where he has taken a mortally injured Dev in a jiffy as her "divine" presence can help extricate his "chaddi buddy" from the jaws of impending and fast approaching death and lo and behold; a suitably chastened appears in the hospital by magic; a repeated case of divine wisdom and gyaan.........
The list of bloopers is never ending and I for one can fill up volumes with the same; suffice to say; Kill Dil is certainly the answer to every film buff's prayer of being entertained(??????) inadvertently/unintentionally and without any conscious desire to do so by the film maker.........
Ladies and gentlemen; I hereby give you Kill DIl a serious contender for the "Razzie" (worst film of the year Award) and a film that s surely not to be missed if you are a purveyor of the worst that the Hindi film industry has to offer...........

BIOPIC ON SANIA MIRZA IN THE OFFING.......

Nixing all reports about a biopic being made on her "dull; dreary and desultory" life; Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza quipped that her life was indeed to mundane and nondescript to even harbour any thoughts whatsoever about the same being ever turned into a biopic........
On being persistently questioned about the chances and desirability about the proposed biopic on her life; an exasperated Sania who graced the opening ceremony of the ongoing National Children's Film Festival; Ms. Mirza remarked that she would want to see flavour of the season Deepika Padukone playing her on screen if such a proposal ever got off the ground in the near future.........
According to Sania; she was an intensely private person who preferred keeping the minutest and intimate details about her life with herself rather than sharing them with any third person; I am not a publicity hungry or media savvy person and have thus far curtailed all efforts to launch a biopic on my largely unremarkable life and times........
Sania who is currently neck deep in the process of releasing her biography tentatively titled "Beating All Odds" remarked that the same was being edited right now and would be released sometime in January 2015 if everything related to the release of the same fell into it's rightful place at the right time.........
Sania turned 28 on Saturday and was celebrating her 28 th birthday on the sidelines of the children's film festival with close friend and actress/producer Dia Mirza who urged her to give up her "hazaar" doubts and give her sanction to a biopic made on her life and times by a director and production house that enjoyed an unique place of it's own within the hallowed echelons of the Hindi film industry..........

MAMATA DIDI'S MUCH VAUNTED "PORIBARTAN".........

Is this the "poribartan" West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee promised with much fanfare a little more than three odd years ago; if so, then India is certainly much better off without the same.......
An unidentified youth who allegedly stole a mobile phone belonging to one of the students putting up in the hostel of a Kolkata based medical college had to pay for his supposed transgression with his precious life that was snuffed out in it's prime by a self appointed group of vigilantes who appropriated the rights of judge; jury and executioner unto themselves late on Saturday night........
According to other hosteliers who were dismayed and outraged (in equal parts) at the sheer depravity and mayhem that unfolded within their hostel premises late on the said Saturday night; the accused young man was bound to a pillar in one of the rooms within the Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital and then clubbed to death with sticks and other rods of all descriptions; his cold blooded murderers then proceeded to mutilate his genitals before leaving him in a bloodied heap on the floor of the room........
A few students who were in control of their emotions and senses immediately rushed this grievously injured youth and his companion who was mercifully spared by the frenzied mob to an adjoining hospital where the doctors attending on him pronounced him brought dead on arrival......
According to police sources; the two young men were stopped in their tracks and questioned by a group of 20-25 students who recovered two mobile phones that supposedly belonged to them from their possession; the now incensed lot of students then proceeded to lead the two accused young men to the carrom room where they securely bound them to poles and then mercilessly assaulted them........
While the young man who was clubbed to death; succumbed to the numerous injuries inflicted on his face; neck; head; chest and private parts that seemed to have been sliced off with a sharp edged weapon; the second youth was let off after being roughed up and repeatedly warned about dire consequences if such an instance were to be repeated any time soon..........
Two hostel staff members have thus far been detained for questioning; though no arrests have been made till now in this case; a heap of sticks; clubs and other such blood stained materials have been recovered from the carrom room and sent to the forensics lab for testing; further investigations into this macabre incident of mob justice are on and the local police authorities are more than optimistic about their chances of laying their hands on the "real" culprits sooner than later.........
