HUMAN SACRIFICE OR RITUAL OFFERING?????

One is at times forced to sit back and ponder whether our beloved motherland has really entered the 21st century or then continues to exist in a time warp in the 16th century.......
 What forces or rather coerces me to make the above statement is the truly macabre and horrifying discovery of 11 year old Abhishek Singh's disfigured and somewhat dismembered mortal remains from Agra's remote Saiyan Village.......
 Abhishek a class 6 student in a state government run educational institution in the city's Malpura Area had gone to attend the wedding of one of his maternal uncle's in the neighbouring Birharu village when he abruptly and bewilderingly went missing in the wee hours of Monday night/early Tuesday morning........
 His acutely distressed and concerned father proceeded to file a missing complaint at the local police thana a little after 1 pm or so on Tuesday afternoon after a futile and forlorn 8 hour long search for any trace of his beloved progeny failed to establish his whereabouts or lead to his discovery.......
 Yashpal Singh (the deceased's father) who is gainfully employed as a security guard in a prestigious international school and other male members of the distraught family subsequently joined the search and rescue party constituted by the local police personnel which was ultimately able to trace Abhishek's mutilated and disfigured mortal remains in a millet field some four kilometres or so from the spot where he went missing at around 6 pm or so on the same deathly Tuesday evening..........
According to the case's investigating officer; the 11 year old boy's body was found with it's throat slit and face grotesquely altered with some corrosive substance (acid being the most likely suspect) with a sharp edged dagger and a few laddus lying next to the same which indicate that Abhishek might have become the sacrifical offering of some occult or tantrik ritual........
A tearful and disconsolate Yashpal Singh despondently rules out the family enimity angle floated by the police by pithily pointing out the fact that both he and his fellow family members shared a congenial and bonhomical relationship with the residents of their village and bore no rancour or hatred towards anybody........
 The customary post mortem that is carried out in all such cases has conclusively established the bone chilling fact that Abhishek's premature demise from planet earth was indeed caused by slitting his throat with the knife that was recovered from the crime scene and that he died as a result of the shock and the massive haemorraghing caused by the injury to his throat and also alluded to the spine chilling fact that his face was disfigured by pouring sulphuric acid on the same post mortem (after he had breathed his last).........
 A nearly 72 hour long investigation by the local police sleuths has failed to throw up any clues or definite indicators towards the identity/ies of the 11 years old murderers and the hapless family has now decided to approach the state human rights commission in an effort to ensure justice for their beloved son and some sense of closure to the mortal wound caused to their hearts and souls by their son's untimely demise......

INNOVATIVE AND BIZARRE DEMANDS.......

Kidnappers and abductors in Haryana certainly seem to be getting more inventive and innovative with the passage of time......
 A hapless and utterly devastated woman whose husband mysteriously went missing from the state's Ballabgarh area finally reached out to the state police on June 29;2016 after exhausting all her resources and stretching every sinew in a heroic yet futile effort to trace her missing/abducted husband's whereabouts.......
However; the receival of a telephone call from an unidentified gent on the same evening on which she registered a police complaint pertaining to her husband's mystifying and abrupt disappearance who claimed to have her husband in his custody and demanded sexual gratification from her in lieu of her kidnapped husband's safe and secure return has only served to worsen her already dark and desolate predicament.......
 According to the woman she received the call from the bane of her life (alleged kidnapper) at around 6 pm or so on the fateful June 29 evening and the gent on the other side of the line explicitly listed his sexual demands and warned her to meet the same without a whimper of protest and deathly consequences for her husband if she did not accede to his somewhat esoteric desires.......
 She immediately made a beeline to the same police station where she had registered the missing complaint with regard to her husband earlier in the day and spilled the beans about the graphic and mortifying sexually laden call received by her from the self confessed kidnapper who has made her existence a living hell with his persistent and incessant demands for sexual favours........
 On their part; the Chhainsa police sleuths have initiated a probe into the claims made by the elusive kidnapper pertaining to having obtained the devastated lady's number from one of her closest friends and confidantes and even gone to the extent of tapping her phone which proved to be a damp squib as the adroit and dextrous kidnapper had been making his calls from multiple locations and from a different number every single time........
 As for the now shattered and utterly hopeless woman who has been bearing the trauma of her husband's absence for almost five weeks now; she has begun praying for divine intervention and the occurrence of a miracle that will reunite her with the love of her life/soulmate as soon as divinely possible........;

 As stated above Petersen will be gracing the occasion and turning up for the Cricket United XI all stars team that will be pitted against a Surrey All Stars XI that will include current English opener Jason Roy in it's ranks........
 Former English skipper Michael Vaughan and gritty middle order or then should I say top order batsman Mark Butcher will coach the two teams who will square off against each other in the charity T 20 fixture whose proceeds will be equally distributed between the Lord's Taverners; Chance To Shine Foundation; PCA Benevolent Fund and last but not the least the KP 24 Foundation........

BEASTLY CRIME THAT DEFIES ALL LOGIC.......

Beastliness; bestiality and murderous tendencies certainly seem to be on the upswing in the national capital.........
 In the latest reported incident of demonic and insurmountable rage getting the better of a person's sanity and thereby resulting in the untimely demise of a precocious teenager; an enraged and brutal shopkeeper allegedly brutalised a class nine student to death in the national capital's Mayur Vihar area.......
 According to the shocked; dismayed and disconsolate family members of the now deceased 14 year old this seemingly insane and utterly avoidable incident occurred at around 9:30 pm or so on the fateful night of June 29; 2016 (Wednesday night) and the immediate cause of the fracas is still shrouded or rather enveloped in mystery as the perpetrator (shopkeeper) is on the run and the eyewitnesses to this senseless crime have clammed up as usual.........
 As for the Delhi police the less said the better as they have steadfastly refused to register a case of murder against the accused shopkeeper as they are purportedly awaiting the receipt of the post mortem report of the 14 year old victim and will only register a case if the same conclusively establishes the fact that the 14 year old boy was indeed bludgeoned to death by the alleged murderer as alluded to by his grieving family members.......
 Alas; one cannot expect any better from a police force that has been utterly politicised and has excelled at the dubious and nefarious art of hounding and harassing the incumbent Arvind Kejriwal led government at the behest of their BJP lords and masters........
 As for the hapless and utterly despondent family of the teenager whose life was satanically snuffed out even before it could begin to blossom; they are literally running from pillar to post in their seemingly futile and hopeless quest for justice and redemption......

EVEN SCHOOLS ARE NOT BEING SPARED......

Even hallowed and sacrosanct "temples" of learning are being desecrated and reduced to centres of rape and pillage in the national capital now........
 A 17 year old teenager was allegedly sexually ravaged by a facebook acquaintance of a little over one year's standing and a security guard within the premises of a flourishing private school in East Delhi's Jagatpuri area sometime on Monday afternoon.......
 According to the case's investigating officer; the unsuspecting and gullible 17 year old rape survivor was lured into the deserted school's (on account of the ongoing summer vacations) function hall by her supposedly trusted facebook "friend" on the pretext of meeting her up and taking her out for a sumptuous and delectable luncheon at her favourite restaurant.......
 As soon as the intended victim entered the school's hall; the second accused in the case namely a security guard employed by the firm providing security cover to the school in question surreptitiously fastened the door from inside and then proceeded to bound and gag the 17 year old before forcing themselves upon her.......
The rapacious duo then fled the crime scene; but not before brandishing a menacing looking knife and threatening the bedraggled and dishevelled teen with deathly consequences if she as much dared to disclose a word about the sordid and despicable fate that had befallen her.........
 Despite the dire warnings; the 17 year old somehow or the other managed to keep her wits and indomitable spirit about her and confided the minutest of details about the deplorable incident to a counsellor employed by the very same school who accompanied her and help her lodge a written complaint against her two assailants at the local police station........
 Swinging into action upon the receipt of the written complaint at around 5 pm or so on the shameful Monday evening; the cops sent the 17 year old for the legally prescribed test to a government run medical facility that conclusively established the horrendous crime committed against her and even successfully managed to nab the two accused who were found drinking themselves silly at a seedy and shady bar in the area at around 7:30 pm or so on the same evening........
They were promptly taken into custody and duly produced before a judicial magistrate at 9:30 pm in his residence and the very same judicial functionary remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody; cases have been booked against them under all the applicable and relevant sections of both the IPC as well as POCSO act against the unholy and unsavoury duo and further investigations into the heinous crime are underway........
 One only hopes and prays that nubile and innocent teenagers will now begin to pay heed to the dire predilections pronounced about the possible consequences of befriending complete strangers on social networking sites and exercise due diligence and requisite caution before befriending any fellow human in the future........

WHO IS THE "REAL" CULPRIT IN THIS INSTANCE........

Abject and utter poverty is surely the bane of every human's existence as the following incident will establish beyond all reasonable doubt.......
 In a tragic; heart rending and utterly avoidable incident a 27 year old long time resident of Mumbai's Chembur area allegedly strangulated her 6 year old son to death on Tuesday afternoon as she was simply unable to bear the burgeoning costs of his medical treatment.......
 Savitri Punnekar (27) a domestic worker who resided in a suburban Chembur lower middle class neighbourhood was widowed some four years back or so when her alcoholic husband succumbed to a liver related ailment and was saddled with the upbringing of her six year old son Devraj ever since.......
 Devraj had been afflicted by epileptic seizures for the last two odd years and matters came to a head on the fateful Tuesday afternoon when an utterly despondent and desperate Savitri allegedly strangulated her beloved son to death as she was unable to raise the Rs. 5,000/- required for his prescribed treatment at a state government run medical facility.........
Concerned and conscientious neighbours who noticed the now deceased 6 year old Devraj's pitiable condition rushed both Savitri and her son to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital where the doctors on duty at the time pronounced him brought dead on arrival........
 Police sleuths who were summoned to the spot as the on duty doctors noticed suspicious marks around the victim's neck subjected Savitri to a relentless and prolonged interrogation session during which she broke down and confessed to her crime.........
 Savitri has since been remanded to judicial custody and a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been duly registered against her by the Mumbai Police and is seems all but certain that she will spend the next 15 years or so behind bars unless a near impossible miracle occurs........
 One wonders who the real murderer is in this instance; the accused Savitri; the despicable poverty that had engulfed her in it's midst; fate; circumstances or then an apathetic; uncaring; callous and indifferent official set up which did not respond to Savitri's plaintive and piteous cries for help and sustenance in the numerous written petitions submitted by her asking for financial assistance and succour so that she could provide the much needed care and medical assistance the apple of her eye required.........

"UDTA PUNJAB" ALL SET TO BECOME CASE STUDY NOW........

EVEN TWELVE YEAR OLD'S ARE DOING IT NOW........

Indian youth or then should I say teens certainly seem to be maturing and sexpoliting oppressed and brutalised denizens of the opposite sex that much quicker what with twelve year olds and the like savaging their objects of desire.........
 In an alarming; dastardly and despicable incident three brothers (two of whom happen to be minors) unceremoniously and demonically sexually ravaged a 13 year old teen belonging to the same slum in Maharshtra's Nagpur city late on Sunday night.......
This gory and macabre incident occurred when the three accused; the eldest of whom happens to be 21 year old Sanjay alias Takesh Manohar Verma clandestinely barged into the teens nondescript dwelling on discovering the sordid fact that she was home alone late on the fateful Sunday night........
 Sanjay and his two siblings who allegedly are 17 and 12 years of age broke into the young girl's home in the city's notorious Indira Nagar slum area against her will at around 11:30 pm or so on the eventful Sunday night; gagged her and then proceeded to take turns in sexually ravaging and ravishing her.........
They then compounded their beastliness and bestiality by threatening the already bruised; battered; cowering and blabbering 13 year old with a menacing looking knife before making good their escape from the very place that they had desecrated.......
 Doubled up with excruciating and life threatening pains in her abdominal; pelvic region the profusely bleeding 13 year old haltingly and tearfully disclosed the minutest of details about the gruesome fate that had befallen her whilst her doting and caring parents were away attending a family function in a neighbouring village........
 Her crestfallen; dismayed and incensed father rushed her to the nearest state government run medical facility at around 4 am or so in the wee hours of Monday morning where the doctors attending on her successfully managed to stem the bleeding from her nether regions and also conclusively established the occurrence of the heinous offence that had altered the life and times of the 13 year old forever.........
 Police sleuths who were summoned to the hospital ward in which the 13 year old is recovering from her traumatic and tragic ordeal duly recorded her statement in which she named and shamed all the three accused and successfully managed to nab the two younger siblings (minors) aged 17 and 12 from a friend's abode in the very same slum area while the main perpetrator 21 year old Sanjay still remains at large........
 Cases have been filed against all three accused under all the relevant and applicable sections of both the IPC as well as POCSO acts and the two arrested brothers have been remanded to a state run juvenile home by a judicial magistrate while a massive manhunt has been launched to apprehend the elusive Sanjay at the earliest.........
 One really shudders to think about the future of a country where twelve year old marauders have begun to rape and pillage unmindful and remorseless about either the consequences or end result of their inhuman and satanic sexual urges and desires........

TRAGIC AND DEADLY OBSESSION.......

Indian families increasingly growing obsession with soap operas and other television programmes has started assuming tragic consequences and how.......
 A 26 year old male resident of Indore's (Madhya Pradesh) Musakhedi area prematurely terminated his supposedly troubled and turbulent life by hanging himself to death from the ceiling fan in his bedroom as the rest of his family was engrossed with Kapil Sharma and his comic antics in the adjoining room........
This heart rending incident occurred a little after 9:30 pm or so on the fateful Sunday night (June 26; 2016) when 26 year old Rohit who had been somewhat successfully running a catering business of his very own decided to end his innings on planet earth in this dastardly manner........
 Matters came to a head when his mother who was watching the afore mentioned weekly television show along with the remaining members of the family casually sauntered into his room after Sunday's episode of the family's favourite show ended and was greeted with the grotesque sight of the twitching and convoluting body of her beloved son hanging from the ceiling fan in his bedroom........
The lady in question somehow managed to overcome her hysteria and sense of panic and raised an alarm following which other male members from Rohit's family cut the rope and rushed Rohit's near comatose body to the nearest super speciality hospital where he breathed his last after 45 minutes or so despite the valiant doctors gallant efforts to save his ebbing life........
 Police sleuths who were summoned to the hospital subsequent to the 26 year old's untimely demise have since registered a case of death under mysterious circumstances and have initiated a supposedly painstaking and meticulous investigation into the circumstances that led to this tragic death of the 26 year old.........
 As for Rohit's family; the less said the better and one can only hope and pray that their obsession with their favourite television shows and soap operas does not ensure a reprisal or re-enactment of the tragic and heart rending events that unfolded on the fateful Sunday night that has altered their lives for eternity.......

THE TABLES HAVE TURNED AND HOW........

Well; the shoe certainly seems to be on the other foot this time around........
 In a first of it's kind even for a jaded and world weary soul like me; a hapless and unsuspecting 10 year old minor boy suffered grievous injuries to his private parts and other parts of his body when a 16 year old minor girl (teenager) from the very same locality coerced or then tried to force him to sexually pleasure her............
 This somewhat bizarre and jaw dropping incident was reported from Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) city's Kulhauli village on a desultory and eventful Sunday afternoon and ended up causing grievous bodily harm to the 10 year old victim who is undergoing treatment at a state government run hospital for the excessive bleeding caused by potentially life threatening injuries to his lower extremities........
 As for the 16 year old aggressor; she has since been shifted to a state run juvenile correctional facility while the local police try their utmost to register a case against her under all the relevant and applicable sections of both the Indian Penal Code as well as the POCSO act as both the accused and victim are minors and hence the accused cannot be tried as an adult as per the exiting laws of the land........
 Legal experts who specialise in such cases have opined that the local police authorities can register a case against the accused under section 8 of the Prevention Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and remand her to a juvenile correctional facility until she turns 18........
Well; what else can one say apart from shaking one';s head in bewilderment and grudgingly acknowledging the fact that India seems to be emancipated and progressive when it comes to matters pertaining to sex and the like......

ATROCITIES GALORE........

Atrocities; specifically sexual atrocities against India's long suffering teenagers and womenfolk certainly seem to be on the upswing.......
 In the latest deplorable and reprehensible incident reported from Sriganganagar (Rajasthan) District's Rawal area a 14 year old teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted (Gangraped) by three youths who subsequently set her ablaze in an effort to destroy the last vestiges of their brutality and bestiality........
This horrendous and macabre incident occurred at around 11 pm or so on a fateful Thursday (June 23;2016) night when the assaulted teenager made her way to the roof of her grandparents sprawling bungalow in the afore mentioned area in an effort to escape the stifling heat that had engulfed the entire locality.........
 The unholy and dastardly trio who were busy sharing a bottle of their favourite brew amongst themselves on an adjoining roof spotted the 14 year old and adroitly made their way to the crime scene where they proceeded to firstly subdue and subjugate the hapless and defenceless 14 year old and then brutalised her multiple times.........
 They then made good their escape from the spot and the target of their untold savagery painfully managed to drag herself into the supposedly safe confines of her bedroom but forgot to lock or secure the terrace's door as she was wracked by unbearable episodes of pain and agony in her abused and battered nether regions.........
 She lay writhing in pain and could not muster up the courage to wake up her sleeping grandparents and aunt as she was scared of the consequences that would befall her if she narrated her tale of woe to them; matters however took a murderous turn at around 5 am or so on the following Friday morning when the murderous trio returned and surreptitiously made their way into their preys bedroom doused her with the bottle of kerosene that they had brought with them and set her ablaze with the aid of a lighter that one of them carried on his persona.........
Abruptly woken up from he salubrious slumber by the smoke emanating from her niece's bedroom as well as her heart rending and piteous cries for help; the 14 year old teens panic stricken aunt rushed to her aid......... She firstly doused the flames that had ensnared her in their fiery midst and then proceeded to rush her to a government run medical facility in her grandparents car after waking up the confused and bewildered elderly couple and alerting them about the piquant situation that they were confronted with........
 Doctors who attended to the 14 year old who had suffered around 35% burns in the inferno that engulfed her in it's vortex rushed her to the state government run hospital in the adjoining Bikaner city in an ambulance as the said hospital was equipped with a specialised burns and trauma ward where she could receive the optimum medical treatment and succour she deserved.........
 Local police sleuths who were alerted about the girl's condition by the on duty doctors at the Sriganganagar hospital duly proceeded to record her statement and testimony in the ambulance in which she identified her assailants as Sonu; Vijay and Vicky; three notorious and loutish youths who belonged to the very same locality........
 Based on her statement; the local police sleuths have registered cases against the three fugitives under all the relevant and applicable sections of both the IPC as well as the POCSO act and constituted three teams to nab the accused trio at the earliest; as for the 14 year old she is slowly but surely recovering from her tragic ordeal and heroically trying to make a new beginning.......
 One only wonders what emboldens and inspires such desperadoes into committing such despicable acts that are an indelible blot on humanity; mankind and our revered Mother India.......

INTRIGUING AND PROFOUNDLY DISTURBING........

Inebriation and delusion can certainly have deathly or then should I say sinister and life transforming consequences as this instance proves conclusively........
 A young; promising and upcoming interior designer chose to end his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan adorning the living room's ceiling of his modest Tijala (Kolkata) based flat hours after stabbing his father-in-law to death and grievously injuring his estranged wife.........
 Sumit Burman (the late interior designer) allegedly barged into his father-in-laws Madhyamgram (North 24 Parganas) based sprawling home at around 2:30 am or so on the fateful Friday morning in a drunken stupor and immediately picked up a bitter and recriminatory quarrel with his estranged wife's sixty odd year old pater........
 Infuriated beyond all reasonable belief and incensed beyond words; Sumit subsequently proceeded to whip out a menacing looking dagger from the innermost confines of the bag that he was carrying with him and proceeded to stab his father-in-law at least a dozen times or so thereby reducing him to a profusely bleeding bundle of humanity........
 He also did not spare both his mother-in-law and estranged wife and vented his fury on the two of them especially his better half who is currently recuperating from the numerous injuries inflicted on various parts of her anatomy (read head; neck and hands in particular) by her supposedly beloved husband when she tried to save her father from the murderous ordeal that he was subjected to..........
 Priyanka alias Bhgyashree (Sumit's better half) somehow or the other managed to muster up the strength to call the Madhyamgram cops with her mobile phone and the police sleuths whop reached the crime scene within a mere fifteen minutes or so of being summoned firstly took due cognisance of Priyanka's account of the version of macabre events that unfolded minutes earlier and rushed all three victims to the nearest medical facility where Priyanka's father was pronounced brought dead on arrival........
 Priyanka who received deep and agonising cuts on her head and hands in particular was treated at the very same hospital (she received thirty six stitches on her hands and head at last count) while her grieving and disconsolate mother who suffered superficial injuries was discharged after the requisite first aid was administered to her.........
 In the meanwhile; a second team of police sleuths from the very same police station made it's way to Sumit's afore mentioned flat at around 5 am or so on the same morning only to find the front door securely fastened from within; they somehow managed to break down the door with the aid of fellow residents of the apartments only to be confronted with the horrendous sight of Sumit's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan in his living room.........
On searching the premises; the police personnel recovered a suicide note in which Sumit had squarely laid the blame for the tragic events at his better half's door step and alluded to the fact that her alleged affair with a professional colleague had led to the inevitable collapse of their little over a year long marriage and Priyanka's decision to move into her parent's home some six months or so ago after a particularly acrimonious quarrel between the two..........
 On her part; Priyanka vehemently denied the allegations made by her now deceased husband and disdainfully dismissed the claims made by him about her having an affair with another gent as a figment of his fertile and frenzied imagination and instead accused him of domestic violence and mental torture......

 Continuing with his appreciation for the dapper batsman's hitherto undiscovered musical talent; Rahman discloses or unravels the fact that Kohli sauntered into his Chennai based recording studio a week or so back full of beans; unbridled enthusiasm and all prepped up to record the "lively; peppy and foot tapping" anthem of the upcoming premier futsal season which is slated to get underway in mid July 2016........
 "Upbeat; exhilirating; uplifting;mesmerising and inspiring" this eagerly awaited anthem is at the mixing and dubbing stage and fawning fans as well as carping critics will have to wait for some more time before the same starts trending worldwide and working it's way up every musical chart that matters........

This edge of the seat psychological thriller starring the multi faceted Manoj Bajpayee in a spine chilling negative role along with Radhika Apte and Neha Sharma was released on various online sites a couple of days back an has garnered critical acclaim by the truckload ever since it's release.......
 But what really made director Shirish Kunder's day was the appreciative tweet he received from the afore mentioned Mr. Kejriwal praising his latest directorial effort and commending him on having made such a gripping and engaging film that ended up drawing an unsuspecting viewer into it's vortex of intrigue and mind blowing suspense............
 Pleased as punch with Mr. Kejriwal's effusive praise and heartfelt encomiums; Shirish promptly sent a tweet to Mr. Kejriwal thanking him for his kind and encouraging words and gushing that he did not need any other endorsement about his worth as a film maker of some substance and mettle after the endorsement received from the Delhi chief minister........
 One may do well to recollect the fact that Mr. Kejriwal took time out from his excruciatingly busy and taxing schedule to watch a little over twenty films or so over the last calendar year and tweeted his review; appreciation and rating of the same every single time.......

 Director; Actor; Choreographer Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder who was better known for his uncanny ability to brush people who matter the wrong way and unintentionally hilarious tweets has more than redeemed and re-established himself as a film maker of some substance and potential with his nineteen minute edge of the seat psychological thriller "Kriti".........
 "Kriti" which is more than adroitly written; directed and cinematographed by Kunder himself stars the uber talented and multi faceted genius Manoj Bajpayee; one of the country's best actresses Radhika Apte and the up and coming Neha Sharma in the three lead roles in this roller coaster ride that leaves you gasping for breath as it unravels it's rather eerie and macabre tale about a gent who supposedly imagines the presence of his long lost woman of his dreams (Neha Sharma) in every living moment.....
 Ms. Apte more than capably plays the role of Manoj's friend; confidante and psychiatrist; counsellor who is almost going round the bend in an effort to convince him that the imagined presence of the love of his life is nothing more than a figment of his love starved imagination........

While some folks within the annals of the Hindi film industry are busy shooting their mouths off and drawing insane; deplorable and reprehensible analogies; there are a few meaning folks who are out to make a difference and set an example for the rest of the world to follow........
 Preity Zinta or then should I say Goodenough is one such good samaritan and kind intentioned lady of substance who did more than her bit to alleviate the long standing sufferings of Maharashtra's drought stricken villagers and villages with her notable gesture.......
 Ms. Goodenough who co-founded and is an integral part of the NGO christened PZ Foundation invested both her time and hard earned moolah in sinking around five wells in and around a few villages in Maharashtra's parched and drought stricken Nashik district.......
 According to a source from the foundation; Preity not only took an active interest in the sinking of the wells but was minutely involved in the planning and execution of the humanitarian project but also went out of her way to ensure that these all weather wells do not dry up and are more than replenished with water inflows from various sources throughout the year unlike most other wells that dry up during the summer months when their water is needed the most.........
 This spunky woman of substance who has always spoken her mind and espoused all the right causes times without end has thus joined the privileged and exclusive club comprising of fellow actors like Nana Patekar; Riteish Deshmukh; Akshay Kumar; Aamir Khan and such notable others who have put their money; hearts and souls into making a difference in the life and times of Maharashtra's drought stricken farmers who have taken to committing suicide for a plethora of reasons related to the same........

MURDER; MAYHEM AND UTTER LAWLESSNESS.........

Demonic; rapacious; audacious; lawless and supposedly masochistic youths and men certainly seem to be ruling the roost in Akhilesh Yadav's increasingly lawless and crime friendly Uttar Pradesh.........
 In the latest infuriating; perturbing; disturbing and futile instance reported from the state; a 14 year old teen set herself ablaze as she could not cope with the criminal and rapacious tendencies of two youths who had taken to stalking and harassing her every single time she stepped out of her home and hearth........
 According to the case's investigating officer; this utterly avoidable; reprehensible and infuriating incident occurred in Banda district's Mahokar village on a rain soaked Tuesday afternoon when the 14 year old class ten student who was being constantly heckled; sexually abused and harassed by the two accused youths Deepu and Amit doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze within the confines of her nondescript dwelling........
 Fellow villagers in the know of things allude to the fact that the two accused young men had crossed all the laid down limits of decency and morality a couple of days prior to the incident when they passed disgustingly lurid and graphic remarks about sacrosanct parts of the 14 year old's anatomy.........
 Having reached the end of her tether and having run out of patience; the doughty 14 year old complained about the two youth's deplorable and objectionable behaviour to the village's mukhiya (headman) on Monday evening following which the two accused unceremoniously barged into her house on the fateful afternoon and threatened her with murder and mayhem if she as much as dared to utter a word against them in the future........
 Desperate; hapless and seemingly helpless; the 14 year old resorted to this extreme measure that snuffed out her fledgling life before it had begun to blossom and bloom........
 Subsequent to he utterly pointless and avoidable demise the local police sleuths have taken the two accused youths into custody and confined them to a state run juvenile correctional facility as they claim to be minors and no one in the village including their parents are aware of their exact or precise ages.........
 Like I succinctly or acerbically remarked earlier such youths with demonic; perverted; perverse and nihilistic tendencies seem to be ruling the roost while the ruling regime continues to persist with it's nocturnal tendency of dismissing such incidents as mere trivialities that are being blown out of supposedly reasonable and rational proportions by a biased and increasingly sensationalist media.......

STEADFAST; RESOLUTE AND A LOT MORE BESIDES........

Our predecessor who coined the term; "Try and try again until you succeed" certainly must have had this indomitable and persistent 82 year old gent in mind while conjuring up the same........
 Meet 82 year old Shiv Charan alias Sheojiram and Pappu a life long resident of Kehori village in Rajasthan's Behror Town who appeared for the state board's class ten examinations for the 47th time and ended up flunking the same for the 47th time.......
This gent who appeared for the class ten examinations for the very first time way back in 1969 (yours truly's birth year) has also remained unmarried a la former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and many such other notables as he has taken a vow that he will only get married when he succeeds in clearing the examinations that have become the bane of his existence......
 Riddled with or then wracked by medical ailments like rapidly failing eyesight; arthritis; asthma and such other ailments that usually affect people of his age; this indomitable and irrepressible gent bashfully admits that he came closest to passing these examinations in 1995 when he only failed to ace the mathematics paper by a mere five marks........
 However his result this time around was the worst of them all as he ended up failing in every subject and even scored a zero in both Science and Social Studies; he however remains undeterred and resolute and swears that he will start from scratch once again and double his efforts to retake his bette noire for the 48th time and hopefully succeed in clearing time this time around.........
 Eking out a pithy existence from the meagre amount that the state government doles out as pension for people of his vintage; this doughty Rajasthani "chhora" acerbically remarks that he is doubly determined to ace the class ten examinations in his 48th attempt in 2017 as he wants to enjoy the elusive comforts of married life before he breathes his last and is more than aware of the fact that his end is drawing near with the passing of every single day........
Here's wishing this exemplary octogenarian all the very best for his 48th attempt at clearing the state board's class ten examinations and hoping that he does indeed enter into holy matrimony with the woman of his dreams.........

THE POWER OF "ONE".......

One constantly needs to keep reinventing and reinvigorating oneself and I am certainly not an exception to this centuries old dictum........
 You may vehemently disagree with my posts and keep bemoaning the fact that I mostly highlight all that is wrong with a decaying; hypocritical; patriarchal; deplorable; decrepit; misogynistic and two faced supposedly ancient and progressive society that takes undue pride in suppressing and oppressing it's womenfolk and depriving them of their constitutionally and legally bestowed rights..........
 One does not need to look any further than the daily plethora of newspapers and news channels that are replete with heart rending; sordid; macabre; lurid and profoundly disturbing stories of atrocities committed against hapless and oftentimes defenceless women by so called "macho" men who take undue pride in boasting of their "incomparable" sexual drive and virility though the same may be more imagined than real.........
 And what is even more galling and condemn able is the fact that our netas; self appointed guardians of morality and last but not the least Lutyens Delhi and other social bigwigs every single time jump to the defence of the accused while continually pointing fingers at the victim and spare no effort to besmirch and tarnish the character and reputation of an already traumatised and agonised victim who somehow or the other manages to summon up the courage and temerity to name and shame her tormentor and unmask him in front of the world........
 Continue to mock and smirk at me; then pray what was the stout defence put up by self appointed guardians of morality and social mores of the likes of Shazia Ilmi; Bachchi Karkaria; Rahul Singh; Prahlad Kakkar and many other such notables who only highlighted their deep rooted hypocrisy and two facedness by taking up cudgels on behalf of a rape accused like Tarun Tejpal while sparing no effort in running down and trivialising the accusations made by him by a fellow employee who was handed out a raw deal by a woman editor who should have stood by her like the proverbial "Rock of Gibraltar" and ensured that the accused should have got his just desserts instead of siding with him and leaving the hapless victim to fend for herself.........
The fact of the matter is that yours truly and a few other people like him are committed to setting right the numerous wrongs that plague our ancient culture and society no matter at whatever personal cost and being cast aside as social pariahs and outcasts and boycotted and banned by people who have a vested and self serving interest in maintaining status quo.........
 You can continue to do what you have been doing for thousands of year and more; but do not ever lose sight of the indisputable and irrefutable fact that it only takes one to start a revolution.........

YET ANOTHER SICKENING SEXUAL ATROCITY........

Are our womenfolk safe from predators and sexual monsters anywhere at all????
 In the latest sexual horror/outrage reported from the National Capital Region (NCR) a music teacher and his three comrades in arms/accomplices allegedly gang raped a 17 year old minor within the secluded and deserted confines of the said music coaching centre in Noida's Kasna area/locality.......
 According to police sources; the two main accused Prafool who reportedly hails from Banaras/Varanasi; Sharad Gupta; their accomplice Mohit Jain and a fourth assailant who is yet to be identified took undue advantage of the fact that the 17 year old rape survivor sauntered into the afore mentioned "Education Coaching Centre" strategically located in Kasna's Gamma sector at around 8 pm or so on the fateful night of June 16;2016.......
They lured her into one of the education centres numerous coaching halls on the pretext of imparting "quality" vocal skills; subdued her and then took turns in sexually violating her one after the other; they subsequently took top their heels after warning the distraught and dishevelled 17 year old of deathly consequences if she as much as let out a squeak about the gruesome fate that had befallen her on the sordid night in question.......
 Wracked by agonising and traumatising abdominal pains on the evening of June 20; 2016; the plucky 17 year old spilled the lurid and horrifying details about her worrisome ordeal to her utterly crestfallen and disbelieving mother who firstly led her to a government run medical facility where the doctor attending on her certified the occurrence of the abhorrent crime beyond all reasonable doubt and subsequently led her to an adjoining police station where the mother and daughter duo proceeded to file a written complaint in which they named and shamed the above mentioned three fugitives and their fourth accomplice who still remains anonymous as of now.........
Taking due cognisance of the written complaint filed by the rape survivor; the police sleuths proceeded to file a case of wrongful detention/confinement; threat to cause bodily harm and gang rape against the four accused in this instance; a police team has since been dispatched to Banaras/Varanasi as the police sleuths suspect that the four accused may have taken refuge within the supposedly safe and secure confines of Prafool's home and hearth within the city and also alerted police stations in adjoining areas/districts to keep a lookout of any traces of the four accused........
 One only hopes and prays that the four accused are apprehended and brought to book at the earliest as their arrest might provide some succour and a sense of closure to the devastated 17 year old who bore the brunt of their monstroities and rapacious tendencies.........

RAVINDRA JADEJA FINDS HIMSELF IN THE FIRING LINE........

"Sir" Ravindra Jadeja's (current Indian all rounder) penchant for posting selfies with endangered and protected wild life species on various social networking sites has certainly succeeded in landing him in a potentially perilous position........
 Jadeja who was on a two day sojourn to Gujarat's iconic Gir wildlife sanctuary (one of the remaining few habitats of the endangered Asiatic lions) earlier this week is currently facing the twin prospects of hefty fine and a prospective jail sentence if found guilty of contravening existing wild life laws pertaining to clicking selfies in a wild life sanctuary.........
 According to the chief forest conservator A.P. Singh; prima facie Jadeja seems to have contravened and violated existing rules and regulations pertaining to disembarking from a forest department or then privately owned vehicle during the course of a safari and clicking selfies with an endangered feline species as numerous boards have been put up throughout the length and breadth of this world famous sanctuary.........
 A departmental enquiry and thorough probe has been ordered after taking due cognisance of the numerous photographs posted by Jadeja on the social networking site "Instagram" entitled "family photo; having the time of my life in Sasan (Gir)" in which Jadeja can be seen vicariously posing with a pride of lions in the background sometime on Friday afternoon.........
 It would be presumptive and premature to comment about either the quantum of the fine or jail time the maverick Indian cricketer faces as the enquiry against him is still ongoing and the same can only be determined upon the due completion of the same; Singh signs off........
One only hopes and prays that the law does indeed take it's own course and comes down like the proverbial tonne of bricks on this foolhardy and juvenile cricketer so that he and others of his ilk realise the fact that laid down rules and regulations about conducting oneself in a protected wildlife sanctuary are not something to be trifled with and can end up causing you untold misery and shame if you contravene the same knowingly and with scant regard for the same.........

ERANGA HOSPITALISED WITH SUSPECTED HEART AILMENT........

In what must indeed come as a double whammy; beleaguered Sri Lankan speedster Shaminda Eranga was admitted to a Dublin Hospital for a suspected heart ailment after experiencing acute discomfort while facing a solitary delivery during the course of his team's batting effort against the host nation on Sunday........
 Eranga who has been an important cog in the Sri Lankan bowling wheel for the last few years was earlier in the day apprised of the heart rending news that he has been suspended from bowling in all future fixtures with immediate effect on account of being called twice in quick succession for a suspect bowling action by the on field umpires during the course of the recently concluded England- Sri Lanka test series that was won by the English lions by a resounding 2-0 margin..........
 As mentioned earlier; Eranga experienced acute discomfort and unendurable agony in his chest region while negotiating the final delivery of a rather dismal batting effort by his team during the course of the second ODI against minnows Ireland and was rushed to nearby Dublin hospital where he was admitted to the medical facility's cardiac intensive care unit........
 Doctors attending on him opined that the severity or criticality of Eranga's suspected career threatening ailment would only be ascertained after obtaining the results of the battery of tests that were run on him by the team of cardiologists throughout the course of the fateful Sunday and it would therefore be premature and presumptive to make any prognosis or diagnosis on his overall well being before the test results were received.........
 Eranga who was slated to undergo a comprehensive and cogent bowling test at an ICC accredited lab based on the premises of England's iconic Loughborough University on Monday will now only undergo the same after being provided with a "clean" bill of health by the Dublin based hospital in which he is currently admitted and may also be staring at the dreaded prospect of putting a premature end to his fledgling career at the age of 29 if his heart condition turns out to be a serious as suspected.........
 Here's wishing this supremely gifted Sri Lankan pace man a speedy and complete recovery as well as a minimum of seven to eight more event filled years of cricket at the highest level as an already struggling and besieged Sri Lankan side need his services that bit more with a big question mark hanging over ailing fellow speedster Lasith Malinga's future as a Sri Lankan cricketer.........

Will the Bachchan scion (Abhishek Bachchan) and noted film maker Sanjay Gupta combine creative forces in the forthcoming third instalment of the iconic "Shootout" series?????
 If the Hindi film industry grapevine is to be believed; Gupta who had earlier more than successfully helmed the two earlier versions of the "Shootout" series (Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout at Wadala) had recently offered the junior Bachchan who was last seen in the smash hit "Housefull 3" the lead role in the third instalment of the much loved and acclaimed police versus underworld series.........
 This particular instalment of the suave and sophisticated crime series is believed to revolve around the life and exploits of famed encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and the junior Bachchan has agreed in principle to reprise the role of the encounter specialist on the silver screen according to sources from the Gupta camp.......
 Gupta is said to be feverishly working on the script so that he can concentrate his time and energy on firming up the rest of the cast as soon as he has a bound script in hand and if everything goes as scheduled the third instalment of the "Shootout" series may go on the floors in the second week of November 2016........

BIZARRE AND CONVOLUTED "LOVE"..........

One has often heard that love transcends all barriers; but can the same get as bizarre as this??????
This outlandish instance of a 42 year old woman marrying her very own son-in-law in a ceremony blessed by both the panchayat as well as fellow residents of a village in Bihar's Madhepura district has most certainly shocked even a jaded old soul like me out of my wits.........
 What however is most galling and consternating is the indisputable fact that 42 year old Asha Devi did not even consider the ramifications of her decision and the disastrous/disparaging effect of her somewhat eccentric decision on her 19 year old daughter Lalita who had more than willingly married the now 22 year old Suraj (Asha Devi's son-in-law as well as newly wedded husband) and an one year old son was also born out of this wedlock........
 According to sources in the know the absence of Asha Devi's husband of more than twenty two years standing more than paved the way or rather facilitated the blossoming of this indecipherable relationship between mother in law and son-in-law and the same clandestine relationship that had been brewing between the duo for well over a year culminated in their marrying each other in the village temple with the village's so called five supposedly "wise" men gracing the ceremony and according it their "official" stamp of approval on the fateful day of June 13; 2016.........
 Asha Devi's husband who had been gainfully employed in a New Delhi based garment factory for the last twenty years or so arrived on the scene in a fit of rage and proceeded to take away his beloved daughter and grandson from the now infamous village as the maddening act and vexatious actions of his better half and son-in-law had effectively ended the relationship that existed between the two of them (Suraj and Lalita) and the three of them have now moved into the gent's (father's) modest New Delhi dwelling as a consequence of this unholy alliance between the "madly" in love duo who can't even bear to spare a moment away from each other.........
 One is however still not clear about whether or not the 22 year old son Suraj divorced his wife of two odd years standing or then even applied for the dissolution of his first marriage before marrying his mother in law as he can only marry for a second time after either legally terminating his first marriage in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated in the Hindu Marriage Act as the absence of a divorce decree or document could act as a spoke in their wheel and render this "panchayat sanctified" marriage null and void.........
 As the situation stands right now; the duo have blissfully started cohabiting together as man and wife and the local police as well as other law enforcement agencies are awaiting the filing of a formal complaint from either one of the aggrieved parties (father and daughter) or then a conscientious and informed villager so that they can begin their investigations into this rather convoluted and complex imbroglio.........

SELFLESS AND GALLANT HERO TO THE RESCUE........

Heroes certainly come in all shapes; sizes; forms; ages and prove their mettle time and again in the most trying and compelling circumstances........
. Rashid; a bus driver gainfully employed with the Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh) Arya Travels for well over the last two decades turned out to be a real life hero and saved the lives and souls of all the 29 passengers frequenting his steed (bus) though he lost his life in the bargain.........
 As per his daily routine; Rashid had set off from his designated Khandwa starting point and was making his way towards his appointed destination (Kohdar) when he was afflicted with a massive cardiac arrest in the vicinity of Chhoti Borgaon Village at around 2:30 pm or so on a fateful Monday afternoon (June 13; 2016)..........
 Despite the excruciating agony and acute breathlessness Rashid somehow or the other managed to retain his maniacal hold on the steering and veered of the road before bringing the said bus to an abrupt and shuddering halt just before it struck a massive tree and thereby averted a calamitous crash that could have caused considerable loss of life as well as grievous injuries to all those on board the said bus........
 Thoroughly shaken and utterly bewildered passengers soon came to their senses when they Rashid writhing in uncontrollable agony and being wracked by deathly spasms; one of them immediately rung up both the 108 ambulance services as well as the local police personnel but his gallant effort proved to be futile and worthless as Rashid had already breathed his last before the much required medical aid and succour could reach him.........
 Squarely laying the blame for Rashid's heroic demise on an uncaring and utterly callous system that fails to rise to the occasion every single time; the irate and frenzied passengers gave both the local police personnel as well as the ambulance service personnel a severe and rather scathing tongue lashing/lambasting when they arrived on the spot a good thirty minutes or so after being apprised of the emergency (precarious situation)..........
 The very same passengers also pooled their resources and managed to raise a sum in excess of Rs. 25,000/- amongst them which was duly handed over to Rashid's kith and kin as a token of their appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to a heroic gent who saved their lives but gallantly and selflessly gave up his life in his praiseworthy and sterling effort to save them from any kind of harm..........
 One only hopes and prays that both the concerned state government and owners of the private bus service take a leaf out of the passenger's book and more than adequately compensate a family that has not only tragically lost a loved one but most probably it's sole bread earner or provider.........

SENSELESS RITUALS CLAIM THEIR LATEST UNWITTING VICTIM.......

Our so called rituals and religious practices certainly seem to be getting more barbaric; medieval; primeval and hedonistic with every passing minute........
 A six year old boy sustained more than thirty percent burns and had to be admitted to a Jalandhar based super speciality hospital as a result of his father's clumsiness and ham handedness.......
 According to the boy's maternal uncle; the critically injured boy suffered these grievous and life threatening burn injuries when his father was carrying him on his back while cavorting on a bed of hot coals in an almost exact reprisal of a similar grotesque ritual that is sickeningly repeated in Tamil Nadu year after year.......
 This horrendous and utterly avoidable incident occurred at around 8 pm or so on a fateful Sunday (June 12; 2016) late evning when the father and son duo were performing this so called "divinely ordained ritual and literally ended up on their backsides on the bed of smoulderingly hot coals when the father stumbled and fell on the same and his son suffered the same fate as a result.......
Bystanders and other fellow participants lifted them to relatively safer and saner climes; but superstition and religious obscurantism prevailed over sanity and sound reasoning once again when the boy's (victims) parents preferred to take him back to their humble dwelling rather than a hospital and all this while spouting seemingly senseless and maddening lines about the deity miraculously curing her ardent devotees of all their afflictions; sufferings and grievous injuries.........
A press photographer from a local Punjabi daily who was utterly dismayed and consternated by the attitude and highly deplorable behaviour of the victim's parents followed them to their shanty on his motorcycle and forcibly carted away the piteously moaning six year old to one of the city's private hospitals where the doctors dressed his wounds to the best of their ability but preferred to shift him to the government run Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) as the same was equipped with a state of the art burns unit where the victim could be treated expeditiously.........
More than aware of the woeful fact that the grievously injured child's parents were humble and ubiquitous rag pickers who could not afford such specialised and expensive medical care the good samaritan (Deepak Kumar) rushed towards the residence of the Jalandhar Central MLA Manoranjan Kalia who immediately parted with a sum of Rs. 10,000/- on being informed about the child's heart rending plight........
 Mr. Kalia however did not stop at this and immediately proceeded to ring up the state's chief minister and apprised him about the developments in this case and the chief minister (Parkash Singh Badal) who was unduly perturbed about the boys condition immediately spoke to the concerned hospital's medical superintendent and beseeched him to provide the distressed boy with ht best possible medical care and attention while apprising him of the fact that the state government would fit the entire cost of the treatment and medicines provided to him........
Thanks to the heroic and gallant efforts of Mr. Deepak Kumar both the father (32 year old Raja) and six year old Kartik are making a speedy and complete recovery from their self inflicted burn injuries sustained due to an obsolete; puritan and horrifying belief that should have been uprooted or then eradicated from our midst on August 15; 1947 if not much earlier........
 One only hopes and prays that the rather sorry plight of the father and son duo will serve as an eye opener and thereby put an immediate end to such satanic rituals that can only end up causing untold misery and agony to all their "mindless and headless" practitioners.........

12 YEAR OLD CRITICALLY INJURED IN SHOOTING SPREE.........

Our pride and joy (read national capital) certainly seems to be living up to it's dubious distinction of being South East Asia's "crime" capital..........
In the latest crime reported from the capital a 12 year old teenager was critically injured in 15-20 minute long shooting spree that was reported from the city state's Geeta Colony area in the wee hours of Monday morning.........
 Long term residents of the area who were blissfully sleeping of their Sunday travails were abruptly and alarmingly awoken from their salubrious slumber by the reverberating sounds of a volley of bullets fired from a minimum of two or more revolvers and the carnage continued for a good 15-20 minutes according to a resounding majority of them.........
 According to the version of events narrated by the immediate neighbour of the victim; he was rudely awaken from his self imposed state of inertia by the dreaded sounds of bullets being fired in the general direction of the house adjoining his own and happened to see four youths who had masked their identities with scarfs or some such masking devices unleashing a volley of shots towards their intended victim.........
 According to this nosey parker; the four youths had arrived on the scene intending to put a premature and hasty end to the victim's elder brother Mukhtiyar who is both hated as well as admired or then adulated by the residents of the afore mentioned locality owing to his dare devilry and penchant of picking up quarrels with other young men on the slightest of pretexts..........
 It is being surmised that Mukhtiyar surreptitiously peeped out of one of the windows in his living room and then ducked out of sigh after casting a wary glance at his wannabe assassins but his 12 year old younger brother who happened to be standing behind him was grievously injured when a minimum of three or more bullets grazed past his elder brother's persona and lodged themselves in various parts of his anatomy.........
 The grievously or then critically injured;victim was rushed to the government run Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital in a car as soon as the four assailants holstered their weapons and made good their escape from the crime scene; doctors who performed an emergency surgery on him lasting a little over two hours successfully extricated the three bullets lodged in his pubescent body and held out the hope of his making a complete recovery though the next 48-72 hours would be crucial in the same owing to the copious loss of blood and other body fluids owing to the bullet injuries inflicted on him.........
 All police stations in the national capital as well as adjoining/abutting states have been placed on a high alert and orders have been issued to trace the four fugitives and apprehend them at the earliest.......
As for the dismayed and distressed residents of Geeta Colony they are trying their utmost to come to terms with the deadly incident and get on with their otherwise desultory and nondescript lives........

FIVE YEAR OLD BLUDGEONED TO DEATH........

Will Akhilesh Yadav ever make earnest efforts to arrest to arrest the the rapidly deteriorating state of law and order in his state......
 In the latest atrocity reported from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut city (Kishanpura locality) an innocent five year old boy was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his inebriated and sozzled Uncle on late on Saturday night..........
 Nanu's (the victim's) grieving; disconsolate and forlorn parents allude to the fact that the 35 year old Gulab Singh (the alleged murderer) who happened to be the victims distant maternal uncle had a long standing family dispute with the victim's family and therefore committed this ghastly crime in an effort to gain some kind of retribution.........
 According to fellow residents of the area Nanu was last seen at around 8 pm or so on the fateful Saturday night in the company of the fugitive (Gulab Singh) and his blood soaked body that bore numerous injuries was discovered in a ditch some four or so kilometres away from his home and hearth early on Sunday morning by a long term resident of the locality who duly informed both the victim's parents as well as the police sleuths about the discovery of the five year old's corpse... ......
This good samaritan had also deigned to extricate the hapless five year old's mortal remains from under the pile of rubble that his conniving and devious uncle used to obscure or then cover up the body and rushed the same to the local police station so that the police personnel could carry out a meticulous and professional investigation.........
Nanu's mortal remains were handed over to his inconsolable parents late on Sunday evening after a post mortem was performed on the same in accordance with the laid down procedure in all such cases and his mortal remains will be consigned to the holy flames on Monday morning..........
 In the meanwhile; a massive manhunt has been launched to trace the whereabouts of the elusive Gulab Singh all across Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states and the police are exuding confidence about their chances of nabbing him within the next 24-48 hours.........
 One only hopes and prays that the judge concerned throws the proverbial book at Gulab Singh and gives him such an exemplary punishment that would instil the fear of the law in the hearts and minds of all such wannabe butchers..........

SOMETHING WORTH DYING FOR.........

Well; well; well; you can certainly trust iconic if somewhat sporadic Hindi film maker Shekhar Kapur to not only give the stormy petrel called Kangana Ranaut a renewed lease of life but also conjure up the role of a lifetime and beyond for her.........
 Kapur whose last directorial venture Bandit Queen hit the screens way back in 1994 in a blaze of controversy has all but confirmed that he had indeed met Kangana on quite a few occasions over the last few months and offered her a pivotal role in a film that will be akin to the 1983 sleeper box office hit "Masoom".........
 Providing even further grist to the windmills the somewhat recalcitrant and reserved Kapur quipped that he was searching for a suitable subject to herald his second coming within the Hindi film industry for the last five years or so and had only recently narrowed down on a subject that would have shades of the much appreciated and critically acclaimed afore mentioned flick......
. Kapur further went on to say/quip that the proposed film would neither be an extension or sequel of his earlier venture but would be an emotional roller coaster like "Masoom" in more than a few ways and would trace the heroine's life progression between the ages of 20 something to a grizzled and wizened 85 year old........
 Kangana seemed to be the natural choice for the character who had all but encroached upon every waking moment; I have already prepared an initial draft or rather working script of the yet untitled venture and will be firming up things with Kangana and making a formal announcement about the project once I have a bound script in my hands..........
 "If everything falls in place as I envisage; we should be ready to go on the floors in the latter half (around November; December 2016) and I cannot imagine anyone else but Kangana essaying this dream role and am all but sure that she will graciously consent to act in the film that is ruling my dreams at the present moment".......
Well here's hoping and praying that this nascent project does indeed come to fruition and create both box office magic and cinematic magic that will indeed be the stuff of folklore and legends........

 Well; do not take yours truly at face value but believe the livewire; eccentric and maverick buzzing Hindi Film industry superstar Ranveer Singh who was bestowed with the thoroughly deserved honour of "Indian Of The Year- Special Achievement Award" by the CNN-News 18 24 hour English News Channel at a glittering and glowing awards ceremony graced by the who's who of the nation.......
 An elated; ecstatic and overwhelmed Ranveer gushed that he was indeed "honoured; flattered and humbled" to be bestowed with this much coveted award that has all but firmed up his very own space within the hallowed echelons of the icons of the Hindi Film Industry and firmly established him as an actor to be reckoned with within a fleeting time span of around six years or so........
One would indeed do well to recall the fact that the 30 year old had heralded his arrival on the scene with the 2010 smash hit "band Baaja Baraat" co starring his rumoured love interest (at the time) Anushka Sharma and went on to firm up his place within the hallowed and highly competitive echelons of Mumbai's iconic film industry with such notable films like Ladies versus Ricky Behl; Lootera; Gunday; Dil Dhadakne Do; Bajirao Mastani; Ram Leela; and other such notables........

 75 year old Anowar Hussain a long term resident of Kolkata's Park Circus locality lost his battle for life in the dark; forbidding; desultory and dingy corridors of a state government run hospital on the fateful morning of June 9; 2016 owing to his family members pronounced inability to shell out the demanded amount of Rs.200/-...........
A grieving and disconsolate Sayeeda (the deceased's daughter) tearfully alludes to the sordid fact that her father who was admitted to the said hospital's out patient department (OPD) in the wee hours of June 9 owing to the accumulation and other liquid agents in his abdominal area.......
 Doctors manning the OPD advised the family to immediately shift the wailing and somewhat incoherent Hussain to the hospital's "emergency" department so that a life sustaining surgical procedure could be duly performed on him in order to drain out the life threatening liquids that had inundated his abdominal and adjoining regions..........
 Fearing for the life of their beloved "Abbu"; the perturbed and hassled family members laid him on a wheelchair and pushed the same towards the emergency department only to be abruptly accosted a few hundred metres short of their intended destination by a ward boy who demanded the proverbial pound of flesh in the form of Rs. 200/- in order to allot him a bed in the said department.........
 Dismayed and distressed by the "Group D" staffers utter disdain and callousness Hussain's family members pleaded with him (with folded hands) to accept the Rs. 150/- that they had with them at present and promised to make available the remaining Rs. 50/- within two hours or so after Hussain was allotted the much desired and sought after bed in the emergency department........
 Despite Hussain's pitiful and heart rending moans of acute pain and agony the demonic ward boy stuck to his guns and kept parroting his incessant demand for the pithy amount as if the same was his divine right and officially ordained gratification........
 In the meanwhile oblivious of the continual wranglings going on around him the grievously ill 75 year old gent breathed his last owing to the apathy and indifference meted out towards impoverished and financially distressed souls like him by an officialese that thrives on buttressing their bank balances and personal wealth by surreptitiously pocketing such oft demanded illegal bribes from the hapless patients of ailing patients who have little choice other than giving in to their greed and avarice..........
Will Ms. Mamata Banerjee who claims to have made Bengal's government run hospital's a "haven of succour and comfort" for those lesser privileged Bengalis who cannot afford to shell out the exorbitant sums demanded by the numerous corporate hospitals dotting Kolkata's landscape issue the necessary orders to her faithful lackeys in the police department to file a murder case against the anonymous ward boy who has the blood of an ailing 75 year old on his hands or then will she dismiss the same as yet another conspiracy hatched to defame and demean her government by imaginary inimical and antagonistic forces who are out to besmirch her administration's supposedly "spotless and blemish free" sterling reputation.........

LIVING YET "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" AS DECEASED AND DEPARTED.........

Bureaucratic gaffes and purported or then should I say clerical errors can alter your status for eternity and more.......
Sukhbir Singh Badal's brainchild the much touted Suvidha Kendra in Abohar can certainly be credited with the dubious distinction of having committed the mother of all official gaffes/errors if the death certificate issued to the applicant certifying as her as deceased is any parameter to go by........
 In an episode right out of the annals of "Ripley's Believe It Or Not"; 54 year old Mamta Rani a lifelong resident of Abohar was issued with her very own death certificate bearing her name and particulars by the afore mentioned Suvidha Kendra on June 7; 2016 instead of her dear departed husband Surinder Kumar who had succumbed to the grievous injuries suffered by him in a tragic road accident way back in November 2015........
 Ms. Rani who went into a deep and largely self imposed depressive state following the untimely demise of the love of her life somehow or the other manged to restore some semblance of order in her life circa February 2016 and subsequently applied for her late husband's death certificate on February 7; 2016 in order to avail of the benefits that she was entitled to as per existing government rules and policies.......
 She received an official communique from the concerned government department (read Suvidha Kendra) to the effect that the much sought after "death" certificate would be issued on or before April 7; 2016; and subsequently received a second registered letter from the same source intimating her of an official delay that had delayed the issual of the same till June 2016........
A semi literate at best; this long suffering widow's joy knew no bounds when she finally received the much sought "death" certificate on the forenoon of June 7;2016 and made a beeline towards the residence of former councillor Ramesh Dhaulpuria in order to acquaint herself with the ordained official benefits that she was entitled to as a widow and destitute left with no other means of income and livelihood........
 Her unabashed and unbound joy soon turned to abject sorrow and consternation when the former councillor intimated her of the startling and perturbing fact that the officials of the now infamous Suvidha Kendra had issued a death certificate certifying her as deceased with effect from the date of application and hence put paid to her forlorn and despairing hopes and aspirations of laying her hands on the meagre benefits that she was entitled to........
 She is now waging another tireless and doughty battle to alter her status from "deceased" to "alive and kicking" for the last three days by making repeated rounds of the bane of her existence that does not even have the humility and grace to tender an official apology to this hapless widow and set right it's glaring and unpardonable error forthwith.........
On the lighter side you now know whom to approach if you have any intentions whatsoever if you want find yourself added to the list of dear departed souls even though you are alive; kicking and more than making a fist of your exalted existence on planet earth..........

WHO IS THE "REAL" CULPRIT???????

Is this the price parents will henceforth have to pay to educate their children with effect from today onwards.......
Tirupur (Tamil Nadu) police sleuths late on Wednesday evening booked cases against a 25 year old female resident of the city's Avinashi area under sections 302 (murder) and 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).......
 According to highly placed police sources; the vexed; distressed and distraught accused who was unable to pay the 40,000 rupees demanded by her 8 year old daughter's school's management in order to admit her to class III laced both her as well as her beloved daughter's soft drinks with pesticide on the fateful Tuesday evening and subsequently consumed the same in tandem with her unsuspecting and trusting daughter.........
 Neighbours and well wishers who happened to see Yamuna Devi (the mother) as well as Joshika (the now deceased daughter) convulsed and wracked by paroxsyms of seemingly unbearable pain through a window broke down the front door of the nondescript dwelling inhabited by the duo and rushed them to the city's government hospital where the doctors on duty pronounced Joshika brought dead on arrival and admitted Yamuna Devi to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition.........
 Family sources duly confirmed the indisputable fact that Yamuna Devi used to run a beauty parlour but was woefully unable to raise the sum of money demanded by the management of the textile city's Viveka Kids School management in order to admit her to class 3 owing to her intermittent and sporadic income from her pride and joy (beauty parlour)...........
 Her husband and Joshika's father one Boopathy 30 who was gainfully employed as a tailor in a local hosiery manufacturing unit had migrated to Malaysia in search of greener pastures a little over three years ago after borrowing lakhs of rupees from family and friends.........
Though employed as a tailor in a garment manufacturing unit in his adopted homeland; the money repatriated by Boopathy to his better half who resided in an one room tenantment with her daughter barely sufficed to pay off the accumulated loans and hence left the duo to largely fend for themselves and lead a pitiful hand to mouth existence almost always..........
The exorbitant sum demanded by the afore mentioned school management proved to be the proverbial last straw in Yamuna Devi's case and she resorted to this desperate life threatening measure as she had reached the end of her tether and buckled under the pressures being exerted on her by the vagaries of life...........
 As things stand at the present moment; the city's police sleuths are awaiting the arrival of Boopathy who is slated to arrive in the city on the night of June 9;2016 so that they can duly proceed with the post mortem of Joshika's mortal remains before handing them over to the grieving and disconsolate father for the performance of the last rites........
 As for Yamuna Devi she is looking forward to a life sentence in the district's Central Jail once she recovers from her ordeal as a consequence of her seemingly insane measures that ended up claiming the budding life of the apple of her eye and her struggling for life in an ICU unit where the doctors attending on her are only willing to say something concrete about her rather bleak chances of survival only after the next 48 hours or so as the same will prove to be more than crucial in her case........
 One wonders who is the "real" culprit in this case; a callous; disparaging and uncaring educational system that places a premium on moolah over merit and other humanitarian considerations or then a distraught; distressed; disconsolate and increasingly deranged mother who found herself incapable of educating her beloved daughter in the manner she envisaged owing to a paucity of funds and faced with an uncompromising and unstinting school management who wanted their proverbial pound of flesh notwithstanding the prospective cause and effects on the pupil and her immediate family.........

IS THERE ANYTHING MORE LEFT TO SAY........

Yet another devastating and deplorable manifestation of a so called "civilised and ancient" culture and society that supposedly venerates it's women; girl child and places them on a pedestal.....
 A four year old girl child who cannot even begin to comprehend the gruesome and gristly fate that has befallen her was allegedly gang raped by a group of yet to be identified sexual predators and left battered and bleeding by the very same.......
 According to highly placed Ferozepur police sources this ghastly and grotesque incident occurred at the city's Malwa Jadid Village on the intervening night on June 7; early hours of June 8 and only came to light when the survivor who was copiously bleeding from her nether regions was discovered by a farmer who had set out for his fields at first light........
 Shocked and dismayed beyond all belief; the gent made a beeline towards the four year old's home and hearth where her mother and younger sibling (two and a bit year old younger sister) were in slumber land blissfully unaware of the brutal and agonising fact that the four year old had been clandestinely picked up by the group of sexual deviants; ravaged and ransacked by them.......
 She (the grievously injured four year old) was immediately rushed to Faridkot's Guru Gobind Singh College where specialists performed a four hour long surgery on her in order to restore some semblance of normalcy to her torn; mutilated and desecrated nether regions as well as stem the flow of blood from the very same area of her pubescent anatomy.........
 Finding themselves at sixes and sevens (as is the norm in a significant majority of all such cases) the Ferozepur police has formed two teams and entrusted them with the onerous responsibility of ascertaining the exact number of devils masquerading as men involved in this horrendous crime; identifying as well as masking them and apprehending them at the earliest.........
 Is there anything more left to say about a nation whose menfolk take undue pride and derive a perverse sense of gratification out of ravaging and debauching helpless and defenceless four year old's and then boasting about their so called "sexual" adventures and exploits at gatherings and congregations of similarly inclined menfolk.........

BRUTAL AND CALCULATED DAYLIGHT MURDER........

The current spate of lawlessness and jungle raj plaguing the nation only seems to be getting worse with each passing day........
In a gruesome; heinous yet daring daylight murder or then should I say perfectly executed crime a prominent Jalandhar based businessman was shot at from point blank range in his sparkling new Toyota Fortuner SUV by a helmet clad and yet to be identified assailant on the forenoon of June 3;2016........
 According to highly placed police sources Anil Kumar Billa (the deceased/victim) a retail garments shop; industrial unit and last but note the least money exchange unit owner was firmly ensconced in the afore mentioned vehicle at around 11:30 am or so in the city's bustling Company Bagh Chowk area when the alleged helmet clad murderer surreptitiously entered his domain; spoke to him for a few fleeting minutes and then proceeded to deposit a minimum of two bullets in his head.........
 He then started his motorcycle and made a hasty getaway from the crime scene notwithstanding the numerous barricades and check posts put in place by the city traffic police personnel in view of the fast approaching 32nd anniversary of the rather infamous and detested (depending on your own point of view) Operation Blue Star........
 According to the case's investigating officer preliminary and cursory investigations into the cold blooded; meticulously planned and perfectly executed murder allude to the fact that the fugitive must have been acquainted or then well known to the deceased as he managed to flag his vehicle and gain entry into the same without facing too many problems or impediments........
 A copiously bleeding and grievously injured Billa was rushed to the city's Civil Hospital by a concerned citizen in his very own steed but succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him within an hour and a half of being brought/wheeled into the hospital.........
 Police sleuths are probing personal/business enimity angles/ long standing personal/professional animosity or dispute; business rivalry; intercenine family wranglings or disputes and last but not the least long standing disagreement or unpleasantry with a disgruntled or embittered borrower as possible motives behind this murder that has shaken the city to it's very core and minutely scanning the CCTV footage obtained from the spot in order to establish the identity of the yet to be identified assailant........
 Well; yet another victim bites the dust and more or less as usual the bumbling; blundering and incompetent police sleuths are clutching at the proverbial straws and hoping and praying that some form of divine or then human interference or then a rare and once in a lifetime miracle breaks open the "hot as burning coals" case that is besieging their otherwise salubrious and unremarkable existence and thereby causing them sleepless nights in the bargain...........

ASHISH NEHRA GETS CANDID ABOUT HIS FUTURE PROSPECTS.......

Ageing and ailing team India speedster Ashish Nehra seems to have read the writing on the wall regarding his future in team India colours and is actively contemplating a mentoring/coaching role for himself.........
 37 year old Nehra who is currently recuperating in London after his most recent successful knee surgery succinctly remarked that he had more or less reconciled himself to the fact that his latest serious injury had all but put a full stop to his future as an Indian cricketer and that he would take a call on the same after an enforced six month or so lay owing to the afore mentioned surgery.........
 On being informed that the current team India assistant coaches Messrs Sanjay Bangar; Bharat Arun; Sridhar; team director Ravi Shastri; current chief selector Sandeep Patil; former Indian opener and current selector Vikram Rathour and former Indian cricketers Lalchand Rajput and Pravin Amre had forwarded their CV's to BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke evincing their more than keen interest in donning the mantle of team India's new team coach; Nehra quipped that he had been mentoring the new kids (young fast bowlers) in the current Indian T 20 side; IPL franchise as well as Ranji trophy side for the last four years or so and hence did not completely rule out the possibility of him assuming the role of team India bowling coach in the near future........
 He also said that he would like to continue playing IPL cricket as well as domestic T 20 and 50 over tournaments if his body held up and repaired knee took the stresses and strains imposed on it post the third operation on it in the last decade or so.......
 Candidly admitting the fact that either he or Zaheer Khan were most suited to don team India's bowling coach's mantle; Nehra remarked that he was more amenable to considering the role if the same was either offered to him or then if opportunity knocked on his door........
One would do well to remember the fact that the bruised and battered left arm seam and swing bowler represented the nation with rare distinction in 17 tests; 120 odd one day internationals as well as close to 25 T 20 international fixtures made a sterling comeback in Indian colours after a nearly five year long hiatus owing to a spate of injuries and breakdowns and was India's most successful bowler on the recent tours to Australia; home series against the Sri Lankans; Asia Cup and last but not the least World T 20 championship in which he was India's most successful bowler with an enviable and unimaginable economy rate of 5.94 runs per over bowled........
 Here's wishing this doughty and inimitable cricketer a speedy recovery and a minimum of two more years in Indian colours (provide his ageing and creaking body copes with the pressures and pulls exerted on it) before he occupies the role of team India's bowling coach as he is more than eminently suited for the same......

 According to sources in the know of things; the Virat Kohli foundation and Bachchan Junior's (Abhishek Bachchan's) "Playing for Humanity" foundation have combined forces and joined hands to organise a charity football match between two teams featuring prominent Indian cricketers and Hindi film industry stars in Mumbai's famed Andheri Sports Club football arena on the evening of June 4;2016.........
While Virat Kohli will be leading a team christened the "All Heart Football Club" (a property wholly and solely owned by the Virat Kohli Foundation) comprising of such iconic cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni; Zaheer Khan; Harbhajan Singh; Ajinkya Rahane; Yuvraj Singh and last but not the least Ravichandran Ashwin (to name just a few).........
 Abhishek Bachchan will proudly lead the All Stars Football Club (solely administered by the Playing for Humanity Foundation) team comprising of Messrs Ranbir Kapoor; Arjun Kapoor; Aditya Roy Kapur; Shoojit Sircar; Ranvir Singh and last but not the least Sohail Khan (again to name just a few) onto the hallowed turf for this much anticipated clash between two of India's most cherished and desired iconic teams.......
Dubbed as the "Celebrity Classico 2016" all the funds generated from this noble and laudatory venture will be equally divided between both the afore mentioned charitable organisations ans solely be used to fund all the charitable causes and concerns supported/espoused by the two..........
