MOST "CONTROVERSIAL AND DEBATED" FILM IN HISTORY........

What's it with Karan Johar's latest magnum opus "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" and the endless plethora of controversies associated with the same......
As if the brouhaha crested by the scions of the legendary Mohammad Rafi and the supposed slights meted out to the immortal crooner were not enough of a dampener; her comes the news of Bappi Lahiri's (or then Bappi Da as he is fondly referred to) son lambasting Johar for lampooning one of his bardesque father's evergreen compositions in the film's soundtrack that is currently lording the charts.......
While Rafi's son and enraged younger brother took umbrage to the reference made to this singer par excellence crying (Johar's and his team of writers words not yours truly) far more often than singing at his mellifluous best; the younger Lahiri (Bappa Lahiri) mouthed the choicest epithets and gave Johar a piece of his mind for having the temerity and gumption to parody his father's everlasting composition "O Taki' O Taki from the 80's blockbuster 'Himmatwala'" as "Tacky O Tacky".......
Call it a case of sour grapes of whatever else you will; but Bappa Lahiri neither minced his acerbic words or then pulled his punches while adroitly quipping that while there is no denying the fact that both he and his immortal Dad are deeply perturbed and consternated by Johar's gall and impertinence they expected none better from a supposedly celebrated and highly acclaimed film maker who constantly keeps churning out one "decadent and fossilised turnip after the other" with painstaking regularity.......
One wonders whether Johar's magnum opus that has so far added a little over Rs. 200 crore to his already burgeoning kitty will go down in history as the most "controversial and spited" film ever made what with ban;lawsuit;boycott and other such threats making headlines rather than it's supposed artistic merit and exemplary content........
