SEXUAL MISADVENTURES IN THE HIGH SKIES.......

The narrow and claustrophobic confines of a bus or then the somewhat more congenial climes of an aeroplane, the amount of space involved is a mere triviality as long as the archetypal Indian man is flying high and a woman worthy of being groped and molested is on the scene.......
In the latest instance of an Indian man failing to control his raging libido in the wide open expanses of the sky above us, a Jharkhand based businessman was hauled off by the Mumbai International (Sahar International) Airport police forces on charges of trying to molest a woman flyer within the confines of an aeroplane from Brazil that landed on our terra firma on Monday........
According to police sources, the victim (a woman said to be in her late 30's or so) was accompanied by her teenage son as well as husband and the trio was returning to home and hearth after a week long holiday in Brazil.........
Rajesh Singh (the accused) started behaving in an obnoxious, perverse and offensive manner with the woman as soon as the flight took off from Sau Paulo in Brazil, but his orgasmic game came to an abrupt and violent end when alert co-passengers and crew members nabbed him and then proceeded to hand him over to the Mumbai Police personnel as soon as the flight landed at the Sahar International Airport.......
According to a fellow traveller, Singh who was seated right behind the woman in question seemed to be an inebriated state and started passing or making crude and sexually laden comments as soon as the flight was in the air and then went onto profusely apologise for his actions as the woman and her spouse took umbrage to his obnoxious manner and behaviour......
The apology however proved to be nothing more than a momentary face saver as Rajesh Singh then proceeded to touch the woman thrice or so in a highly inappropriate manner and his sexual piccadiloes went into the stratosphere when he proceeded to grope and molest the victim as she was about to enter the toilet and on her way back from the very same.........
This however did not go down well with his fellow passengers and crew members as they firstly proceeded to rough him up and then bound him to his seat so that he could cause not further disruptions, his sexual misadventures came to an desultory end when he found himself in the company of policemen.......
"A blood test carried out on the victim did dispel all doubts about him having been inebriated at the time and the victim in her complaint filed before the Mumbai Police has alleged that Singh kept staring at her in a lewd and provocative manner all the while and then proceeded to grope and feel her up right outside the plane's economy class toilets"......
"This however proved to be the last straw as the victim screamed continually at the top of her voice and menfolk from all over the plane gallantly came to her rescue and saved her from the clutches of her tormentor", Sahar Police Senior Inspector Ravindra Patil remarked.......
Singh who had proceeded to Brazil for business related work has since been arrested on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman, he was duly produced before the Bandra court and has been sent to two weeks judicial custody by the same; his passport has been seized by the Mumbai Police authorities and further investigations into the case are on.......

DAMNED IF THEY DO AND DAMNED IF THEY DON'T.......

Can a leopard ever change it's spots, well the unthinkable might happen once in a lifetime or so, but is a strict no no in the case of the stenoritarian and authoritarian Delhi Police as it's attempt to adopt a far more cheerful and citizen friendly approach through the social media ended up falling flat on it's face.........
In stark contrast to it's usual school marmish and churlish posts, the Delhi Police this time around tried a volte face and put our or circulated a post buzzing with cheer, bonhomie and in a lingo that seems to abound on social networks........
"GOOOOOOOOD MOOOOOOOOOORNING FOLKS" went the Delhi Police's citizen friendly initiative and the same was also punctuated by a series of "Hear, Hear, Hear's" for good measure............
Alas, the new found sense of camaraderie and bonhomie was punctured in an instant as the fine print attached to the post mentioning details of the number of people fined for not carrying a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate soon drew the Delhiite's ire and consternation"..........
A few of the profanities and epithets used by irate and confounded Dilliwallahs cannot even be mentioned in the course of this facebook post as they are a little too uncomplimentary and descriptive for comfort, all I will endeavour to say is that a significant majority of all such posts would have surely had the architect of the Delhi Police's new found initiative retreating with undue haste............
In fact, a few Dilliwaala's even went to the extent of remarking that the Delhi Police seems to have outsourced it's website to a few scions of it's senior officials and they are indeed having a gala time trying to confuse the common man by making misplaced and furtive attempts to sugar coat a bitter and distasteful pill...........
Sample this response for good measure, "Saalon ka subah, subah dimaag kharaab ho gaya hai, aur ab inhone PUC certificates ke baarey main posts bhejne shuru kar diye hain; kuch kaam kyon nahin karte aur bhrasht netaaon ko kyon nahin pakadtey".............
Damned if they do and damned if they don't, the Delhi Police bigwigs must surely be a their wits end trying to conjure up their next citizen friendly "successful" initiative............

GIVING IT BACK WITH RENEWED INTEREST........

The newest kid on the political block or then should I say firmament, the Aam Aadmi Party certainly seems to be flexing it's muscles and giving it back to the established parties with renewed interest........
Taking umbrage to Madame Sonia Gandhi's disparaging remarks made about the party during the course of a public rally held in Assam, party bigwigs said that people who live in glass houses should not hurl stones and brickbats at others as the same would only end up causing their edifice considerable damage..........
Reminding Sonia Gandhi that the unholy nexus between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party was the sole reason behind the then Delhi chief minister's decision to put in his papers after a brief 49 day long sojourn at the helm of affairs.......
The Jan Lokpal Bill was the cornerstone of the Aam Aadmi Party Government and the party deemed it fit to sacrifice a government as the two established national parties had ganged up to stall the introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly as the passage of the same could have led to the ultimate incarceration of a significant majority of their leaders under the provisions of the same........
"Ms. Sonia Gandhi keeps accusing Narendra Modi of forgetting facts and concocting tales to suit his divisive agenda; but she seems to be indulging in more of the same as she is conveniently side stepping the fact that the unholy nexus between her party and the BJP's MLA's nipped the introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill in it's very bud and was the sole reason behind/for the AAP government tendering it's resignation.........

Reminding over enthusiastic followers of the foundations of non violence and ahimsa on which the party was founded, Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal implored his followers and party volunteers to eschew violence and turn the other cheek if they were slapped on one........
Kejriwal further said that anti-social elements and hired goons of mainstream political parties such as the BJP and Congress would grab every opportunity of disrupting every rally and making even greater efforts to incite violence as they were flabbergasted and aghast at the rapidly growing popularity of the fledgling party and these efforts were nothing more than an misguided effort to offset the same........
"You are providing them with a golden opportunity every time you retaliate in a likewise manner by returning blow for blow, they have already branded us as a party of anarchists and revolutionaries and will start branding us a party of thugs and bandits if we start reacting violently every time somebody assaults or confronts us".........
Kejriwals' remarks were coming in the background of the blows that were rained on his neck at Charkhi Dadri in Haryana's Bhiwani District during the course of an election rally.......
Betraying his deep rooted sense of dismay and outrage, Kejriwal said" that he was indeed pained and dismayed by the actions of his followers and party members and reminded them that two wrongs never ever made a right to begin with".........
"The Congress and the BJP and their hired band of goons and bandits are at the root of all these unprovoked and increasingly growing attacks, but they have conveniently forgotten or overlooked the fact that the increasing frequency and brutality of such attacks only make me that much more determined to finish off their corrupt and self serving regimes that have plundered this country endlessly and brought it to the prevalent sorry state of affairs"........

Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidates' claim about ushering in an era of corruption., graft and nepotism free governance suffered yet another grievous body blow what with his close aide and "campwallah" being arrested by the anti corruption bureau on charges of demanding and accepting an exorbitant bribe from another member of his own party..........
In what must surely come as a major embarrassment and heart ache to the saffron party's poster boy, his close aide and confidante Ganesh Malviya (he happens to be the co-convenor of Modi's very own election cell) was ensnared in a trap by the anti corruption sleuths from the nation's premier investigation agency (CBI) on Saturday while he was in the process of accepting an illegal gratification of Rs. 10 lakh from another member of his own party.......
What must come as even more of an eye opener and reality check to Modi is the unsavoury and unpalatable fact that the CBI had laid out this intricate and elaborate web at the behest of one Rajesh Bhadoria (a state level BJP leader) who had lodged a complaint to the CBI against Malviya and his better half.........
According to a CBI official who is an integral part of the team investigating this case, Malviya's better half (legally wedded wife) had demanded a "reward" of Rs. 25 lakhs from Bhadoria (owner of a construction company called Ramayan Constructions) in order to take care of adjust his firm's supposedly faulty or discrepant Income Tax Returns.........
The CBI team also seized Rs. 2.5 lakh in cash and undisclosed amounts of gold and silver jewellery as well as the keys of four bank lockers from the Malviya residence (in addition to the Rs. 10 lakh demanded as a bribe), the accused duo was produced before a metropolitan magistrate on Saturday afternoon and the legal functionary remanded them to CBI custody till April 1...........
As expected the arrest of the Malviya's, provided further fodder for the grist mills of the opposition parties in Madhya Pradesh with the main opposition (Congress party) lodging an official complaint with the State Election Committee and demanding a time bound, fair and impartial probe into the incident.......
Some self styled experts even went to the extent of branding the incident as a bitter fallout of the fratricidal or intercenine warfare that seems to have erupted within the ranks of the saffron party's bigwigs; one of them on condition of anonymity pithily remarked, "there is a rapidly growing section within the party that is extremely uncomfortable with Modi's new found popularity and increasing clout, hence this latest attempt to cut him down to size".......
Whatever, may be the reason or urging behind this unsavoury and unpalatable episode, the fact of the matter is that the same has raised new found doubts and numerous questions about Modi's ability to usher in a corruption and graft free regime when he is woefully incapable of setting his own house in order and managing the wranglings within the same.......

Supposed or alleged Modi wave or not, the saffron party does indeed have it's task cut out in the national capital if the support being drummed up by the Aam Aadmi Party's candidates through their innovative and participative "nukkad sabhas", and other such innovative measures are any yardstick to go by.......
Here's a typical scene on any evening of the week deep within the lanes and bylanes of the Vijay Vihar locality within the Uttam Nagar area, chairs are being arranged in an orderly and stately manner on one corner of the road by scores of people roaming around donning "Main Hoon Aam Aadmi" caps and quite a few residents are already milling around eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Aam Aadmi party's candidate for the West Delhi Parliamentary constituency Jarnail Singh.......
According to the team of over eager and enthusiastic team of volunteers led by organising secretary Naresh Agarwal, such nukkad sabhas and other impromptu public meetings are proving to be invaluable in the Aam Aadmi party making deep inroads into what is essentially considered as a Bharatiya Janata Party bastion.......
According to one Rajiv Prasad Gola, retired central government employee and long time resident of the area, "the Aam Aadmi Party is not only creating gigantic ripples in this area, but across the length and breadth of the entire country as the Aam Aadmi Party is the only true representative of the common man and the common man sees it fulfilling his long held dreams, hopes and aspirations"........
Lo and behold, Jarnail Singh and his hordes of gallant supporters who are running a few hours behind schedule on account of the unprecedented public support reach the spot in a crescendo of "Inquilab Zindabad, Bharat Maata Ki Jai" and soon ardent and intense discussions about the numerous problems faced by the residents of the area and innovative as well as time bound solutions to the same ring the entire area......
Reiterating the fact that both his as well as his fledgling party's fight is against the 3C's (criminalisation of politics, corruption and erosion of morals in public life and last but not the least communalism: that is resorted to by politicians when all else fails), the journalist turned politician stresses the immediate need for the establishment of a system where corrupt politicians are an anachronism as well as a society where perceived differences between religions, castes, creeds and so on and so forth are exactly that a figment of one's imagination"........

Central Government Babu's or more precisely officials are the latest entrants to the ranks of rapists in the national capital what with health ministry officials being arrested on charges of sexually assaulting 32 year old widows and then denying all charges........
Harish Sharma (40) a senior accountant with the Ministry of Health was arrested by the South District Police late on Friday night after a 32 year old widow levelled rape charges against him and alleged that Sharma had brutally raped her within the precincts of his residential premises earlier on the same day......
This gruesome incident was initially reported from South Delhi's prosperous Saket locality, in her complaint to the Delhi police, the victim who is a resident of the national capital's Janakpuri area said that she had gone to meet the alleged rapist at his Pushp Vihar area early on Wednesday evening as she was well acquainted with him.......
She further said that she was initially dismayed to find him all alone at home and immediately wanted to wend her way back, but overcame her hesitation and decided to enter his home primarily because of their age old relationship but soon realised that this very trust was to prove to be her ultimate undoing as Sharma took undue advantage of the prevailing situation and raped her within the portals of her home on more than one occasion on that fateful Wednesday evening........
Extreme and unnatural fear for her life and the lurking suspicion of social ostracisation forced her to keep quiet in the first instance, she said, but subsequently summoned up the courage to name her tormentor and file a police complaint against him after he sexually assaulted her for a second time early on Friday morning and threatened her with dire consequences all over again.......
Due credit must be given to the Delhi police officials in this instance as they acted with surprising and alarming alacrity in this case and arrested the "rapist" official from his government allotted accommodation within a mere matter of hours late on Friday evening.......
One had heard about the existence of the infamous "casting couch" within the echelons of the film industry and of repeated instances of starlets who approached ageing producers for roles being sexually exploited on the same, but the replication of the same scenario by government officials who have taken to raping unsuspecting female victims after luring them into both their offices as well as personal residences on the pretexts of getting them government jobs or then helping them in an official capacity is certainly a cause for concern as life does indeed imitate art, but his is certainly taking things a bit too far.......

GHASTLY CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.......

Racism, Racism everywhere and no respite in sight; the ugly and heinous sceptre of Racism rises and bites us in the face repeatedly and yet we prefer to turn turtle and pretend that the same does not exist in our midst..........
In the latest incident of senseless and barbaric racism against people hailing from the North Eastern parts of this vast motherland; a couple hailing from a North Eastern State was mercilessly thrashed by their landlord and his hired goons/hoodlums within the confines of their rented accommodation in South Delhi's Munirka area late on Tuesday night.......
According to police sources, this inhuman incident occurred at around 10:30 pm or so on Tuesday night when Lhingeilam Vaiphei (24) wanted to leave the precincts of her rental premises and move out in order to step out and meet her mother who had made her way to the national capital from their home town.......
Her crime, the very fact that she repeatedly requested her landlord to hand over the keys to the main gate to her as she would only be able to make her way home in the wee hours of the morning and did not want to disturb the landlord and his family's blissful slumber on account of her movements.......
Instead of giving in to her entreaties with good humour, the irate landlord for reasons best known to him turned around and began subjecting Lhingeilam to the filthiest and choicest racial epithets, when she objected to this crude and offensive invective, the landlord took the drastic action of summoning nine men who then proceeded to mercilessly beat up the defenceless couple........
The goons firstly proceeded to beat up Lhingneilam who had given birth some ten or so days ago within an inch of her life, when her husband 27 year old Thangmilian tried to ward off her tormentors and save her skin, he too was subjected to the same insane treatment that left him bleeding from various injuries inflicted on his persona.........
Lhingneilam who was cradling her 10 day old baby in her arms when she was attacked by a woman with a broom from behind claims that she was unceremoniously pushed around and called the choicest of names, when she pleaded her as well as her infants case, her pleas were met with kicks and punches that left her bruised, battered and bleeding........
Her husband who was in another room within the rental accommodation happened upon the spot as soon as he heard the commotion, he made a valiant effort to ward of his wife's numerous assailants but soon cowed down to a barrage of fists, kicks and blows inflicted with iron rods that reduced him to a bleeding and quivering mass of abject humanity......
Neighbours and fellow residents from the North Eastern parts of the country who resided in nearby dwellings rescued the grievously injured couple and rushed them to the state run Safdarjung Hospital where they were admitted to the casualty ward and are currently recovering from their numerous injuries and maniacal ordeal.......
Police sources have confirmed that cases have been booked under sections 323/343/356/506/342 of the SC & ST Atrocities Prevention Act have been duly registered against the marauding landlord and his 9 hired goons at the national capital's Vasant Vihar Police Station........
Seven of the nine hired goons were arrested from three separate locations on Wednesday and Thursday and the landlord is currently cooling his heels in a police lock up where he is being extensively interrogated......
Is there any plausible or logical reason on earth that can explain this despicable behaviour and murderous tendencies; if stepping out of your rental accommodation late at night in order to escort your mother who had ventured to the national capital for the first time is a crime than I would want to commit the same crime for the rest of my living days.......

NETAJI "CHAI WAALEY".......

Elections 2014 are certainly throwing up quite a few surprises as far as the kaleidoscope and sheer novelty of candidates trying their fortunes at the political hustings is concerned: on the one hand you have scions of former royal families contesting the polls and on the other you have humble chai and rickshaw wallahs doing the same.........
Meet one such candidate, 37 year old Shatrudhan Gupta, who dons the vestments of an archetypal neta, safed dhoti, kurta, Gandhi topi, black waistcoat et al; the only difference being that he has being selling his delectable concoction to anybody and everybody who throngs the renowned Hanuman Mandir on the national capital's bustling Baba Kharak Singh Marg for the last 13 years and more........
Gupta a native of Bihar's Achariya district came to the national capital some 15 summers or so ago to make his fortune and subsequently set up this tea stall that bears the inscriptions of "Connaught Place waaley Baba ki Jai", "Bhola Baishno Tea Stall", and Netaji Chai Waaley" on a sizeable yellow board in clear and prominent Hindi right outside his humble and unassuming shop........
On being asked why he gave himself the nomenclature of "Netaji Chai Waaley", he proudly replies "I tried my best to contest the 2009 parliamentary elections from the ultra prestigious New Delhi parliamentary constituency, but my nomination was rejected at the last minute because of certain issues related to my identification documents"......
"Ask anybody where 'Netaji Chai Waaley' sets up his stall and they will always point you in this direction, I have been at it for the last 13 years and more and have become a kind of permanent fixture in the area", he remarks.......
Citing the unstinted and steadfast support of every small and petty trader in the area, this humble and unassuming father of four says, "I will certainly be successful at the hustings this time around as my honesty and sincerity are known to everybody in the area and besides both the MLA as well as MP from the area have done little either by way of development or alleviating the numerous problems faced by their constituents on a daily basis".....
He further says that "I am faced with little or no competition this time around as the precious incumbents have done precious little to win over the affections of the common man and besides the candidates fielded by the parties this time around lack in stature and organisation in comparison to me".......
Two tin cans asking for an anudaan or donation of Rs.1/- per person are prominently displayed right outside the portals of his "renowned" tea stall, "I have managed to raise a little over Rs. 30,000/- so far, thanks to the large heartedness of my well wishers and supporters, I neither have the wherewithal or then organisational and financial strength of established political parties and thoughts exchanged between me and my supporters over a cup of chai are my sole means of communication and canvassing for votes", he adds.........
" Lord Hanuman and the blessings and good wishes of my legions of supporters are with me, something tells me that I will surely be successful this time around, but if I am not successful, I will certainly not lose heart or give up but keep trying till I am successful in raising the everyday concerns and fears of the marginalised Aam Aadmi who has come to be taken for granted", he signs off........
One wonders why the Aam Aadmi's party had to go shopping elsewhere for a candidate from the New Delhi Parliamentary constituency when one such candidate was awaiting them in the form of Shatrudhan Gupta right outside the renowned Hanuman temple on Baba Kharak Singh Marg.......

MODI AS THE AAM ADDMI PARTY'S OFFICIAL SPOKESPERSON........

It is indeed high time that the Aam Aadmi Party actively considered appointing the saffron party's prime ministerial candidate one Shri Narendra Bhai Modi as it's official spokesperson or then should I say chief propagandist as the fledgling party rakes in a windfall every time "pheku master" Modi aims his guns at them and voices invective against them.....
In the latest such instance of Modi putting his foot in his mouth once again and calling Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal "AK 49" and a Pakistani agent, the party was at the receiving end of not only the common man's sympathy and sense of outrage but also reaped in windfall benefits as the common man opened his purse strings unabashedly and contributed a little over Rs. 1 crore to the party's coffers within a matter of 24 hours or so........
One Ganesh Ramani from Hong Kong was the biggest contributor as he amply displayed his large heartedness and benevolence by promptly despatching a cheque worth Rs. 62 lakh online and other like minded people making similar contributions to the party's cause both through cash and cheques.......
A party functionary did indeed confirm the receipt of this windfall and said that while the sums of money received through cheques are reflected within a mere matter of minutes on the party's website, collating and listing details of contributions made in cash takes some more time as the same has to be counted and properly accounted for......
Kejriwal's heartfelt and resounding appeals to Varanasi's "dildaar" Aam Aadmi also helped in no small measure as the common man more than amply showered his blessings on the party of the common man by paying heed to Mr. Kejriwal's heartfelt pleas for contributions and once again showing that Modi might just have bitten off more than he can chew by spewing vitriol at the common man's "true" representative......
The fact of the matter is that the common Banarasi has been making a beeline in droves to listen to Arvind Kejriwal and bless him and the same is causing consternation, heartburn and dismay amongst the ranks of the saffron party and hence the intimidatory tactics, gutter language and increasingly vitriolic personal attacks on both a party as well as a candidate who certainly seems to be the flavour of the season........
Come on "Pheku Master" have another go at Kejriwal so that the Aam Aadmi can indeed cut you down to size and show you your rightful place in the political pantheon.......

BRUTALISED AND SEXUALLY RAVAGED BY A SO CALLED FRIEND........

Women especially the younger one's below the age of 21 seem to be bearing the brunt of the rapacious tendencies of the capital city's menfolk what with them being gang raped times without end by men in whom they chose to repose their trust and confidence.......
In the latest addition to an already burgeoning list of rape statistics, a 19 year old young woman was repeatedly gang raped by four men in the national capital's prosperous and swanking Vasant Kunj area on Tuesday evening.......
In what must indeed be counted as a blessing, the besieged and barracked Delhi police swung into action for once and managed to arrest three suspects from the very same area later on Tuesday night itself.......
According to police sources, one of the four assailants was on friendly terms with the victim and taking undue advantage of the convivial and congenial situation he summoned her to a rather secluded and shady location in the Vasant Kunj area on Tuesday evening......
Taking the summons from a friend at face value, the 19 year old young woman made towards the spot post haste only to be subdued, sexually assaulted and repeatedly ravaged and ravished by the four men including her so called friend and confidante.......
As has become the norm in an overwhelming majority of all such cases, the four men threatened to cause the victim grave physical harm if she confided in anyone or then revealed graphic and minute details of the sordid fate that had befallen her on the fateful Tuesday evening......
Summoning up her last resources of character, pluck and indomitable courage, the victim chose not to pay heed to the dire predilections or threats made by the foursome and duly proceeded to call up the local police station and report the horrific incident......
She not only reported the grotesque incident in great detail but also provided the police with almost picture perfect descriptions of the four men who ravaged her and the police managed to nab three of them from the same area later that night because of the descriptions provided by the victim........
The fourth assailant is however on the run but the Delhi Police is more than optimistic about nabbing him soon as his physical details and sketches of his visage have been widely circulated to all the police stations both within the national capital region as well as neighbouring/adjoining states........
A detailed medical examination carried out on the victim at a government medical facility on Wednesday has established the repeated occurrence of rape and the victim is currently being counselled by specialised/expert counsellors belonging to an NGO.......
Tall promises and self laudatory claims are not going to improve the grave and alarming situation in the national capital but a relationship based on trust and mutual confidence between the police and Delhi's long suffering citizens certainly will.......
It is indeed high time that the Delhi Police began living up to it's "with you for you" dictum by reaching out to the common man and woman instilling a sense of confidence and trust in them and using them as their eyes and ears on the ground in a belated though long overdue way/manner of arresting this grave trend and nipping/arresting it in the bud.......

MISPLACED BRAVADO OR THEN SRINIVASAN'S LAST STAND.......

Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president Narayanswami Srinivasan seems oblivious to all parameters or laws of propriety, piety, conscientiousness, morality, so on and so forth and is overwhelmingly obsessed with the thought of hanging on to his gubernatorial post at any cost.......
If the latest whispers emerging from the BCCI president's camp are any yard stick to go by, his strategy vis a vis the scathing observations made against him by the apex court of the country is more than amply clear.......
Srinivasan's acolytes have unwittingly let the cat out of the bag and said that Srinivasan will make a counter proposal offering to step aside so that an impartial and expeditious Supreme Court monitored probe into the unsavoury and hideous match fixing and bribery episodes can be duly completed in an efficacious and time bound manner......
In fact, one Srinivasan acolyte went as far as saying that his prospective counter offer to the apex court will be nothing more or nothing less than a mirror image that was made to the apex court in June 2013 and is based on the premise that he does not have to step down as no notice or summons were issued to him by the apex court of the country........
According to the very same source, Srinivasan was closeted with the BCCI legal counsel for close to three hours this morning within the safe and secure confines of his Chennai residence and the emergence of this face saving counter offer was the end result of these exhaustive confabulations........
Srinivasan is said to be obsessed to the point of madness with the pipe dream of becoming the ICC's first ever omnipotent and omniscient chairman and does not want to step down and put his pipe dream that will materialise or concretise in June in peril or jeopardy at any cost......
He is also said to be more than aware of the fact that his so called well wishers and fair weather friends are awaiting the ultimate outcome of Srinivasan's present predicament and are hoping and praying that the Supreme Court will ultimately succeed in the "dirty" job of cutting Srinivasan down as they have woefully failed to summon up either the courage or the wherewithal to do the same........
Srinivasan is also said to be carefully measuring or evaluating the support at his command if the Supreme Court indeed does go ahead and does a lot more than just passing scathing personal observations against him, he is said to be girding up his loins for what might turn out to be the most arduous battle of his life.........
He is rumoured to be in constant touch with all the other office bearers from the South Zone and one or two friendly units like Assam and Orissa and is more than hopeful of garnering their support if push indeed comes to shove during the course of an emergent meeting of the powers that be within the BCCI.......
All one can say in conclusion is that Srinivasan is certainly proving to be a law unto himself, he is more than willing to take on the Supreme Court and even challenge it's authority as far as the question of asking him to step down without any further ado goes........
As for the rest of the BCCI bigwigs go, the less said the better, they are nothing more than abject caricatures of spineless human beings or rudderless ships who latch onto the strongest tides (first amongst equals)........

ILLOGICAL, ABSURD AND HORRENDOUS JUDGEMENT.......

One has always thought that courts were the repositories of wisdom, fairness, justice and forward thinking, but recent judgements made by sessions courts on a myriad of social issues have severely dented this long held belief of mine......
Take this judgement given by a trial court in the national capital on a dispute pertaining to the sharing of money between the two warring parties for example: "If a woman defies the societal norms and family order by eloping with and subsequently marrying a person of her own choice, then her father enjoys the express right of taking back or retaining the monies deposited in her bank account/s while she was a minor"......
This particular trial court made these archaic and rather hackneyed observations while it was deciding the ultimate outcome of a rather unsavoury dispute between a father and his beloved (?) daughter on the perennial question of distribution of money between the two......
In this case, the father of the girl who had eloped and then married a boy of her choice had approached the court in question seeking a permanent injunction against the banks in which he had opened accounts in his darling(?) daughter's names......
He wanted the courts to ensure that the monies due to her on the date of maturity of the said accounts were not released to her as he was unduly peeved with the fact that she had eloped with and married a distant relative against his wishes and hence he did not want the banks to pay out the sums that became available to her on the date of maturity........
Stretching the limits of credibility and sanity, the additional district judge judge Vinod Yadav concurred with the views expressed by the irate father in this regard and pithily remarked that "till the time the defendant number 1 (daughter) behaved like a dutiful daughter and steadfastly obeyed laid down norms of societal and familial honour, the father had no problems whatsoever with his daughter having access to the monies deposited by him in her bank accounts".......
"But the situation took an irrevocable turn for the worst, the very minute she abjured all laid down societal and familial norms and eloped with someone in the family without the express consent and blessings of the parents, in the case of such an event it is but natural that a father might experience a sense of betrayal and outrage and his not wanting his "unfaithful and straying" child to lay hands on his hard earned monies (the amounts deposited in her bank accounts) is a natural consequence of both her undesirable and unwarranted actions as well as the sense of angst and betrayal experienced by the father of the girl.......
As is the age old practice in most families, the doting father had opened a bank account in the then apple of his eye (daughter's name) in a reputed bank when she was still a minor and kept depositing undisclosed sums of money in the same at regular and timely intervals and as the girl had now attained majority the unwilling and reluctant bank was also made a party to the case/dispute between father and daughter.......
During the course of the trial, the legal counsel of the bank made a submission to the effect that the bank had to pay out the monies that became due to the daughter on the date which she attained the age of majority as per the existing banking norms and rules applicable in the country and also remarked that the father had forfeited his claim on the said sum of money on the date on which his daughter legally became an adult; however for reasons best known to it, the bank committed a volte face and went back on it's earlier stand by agreeing to honour the trial court's judgement in this case.......
What was even more astounding was the fact that the judge summarily dismissed the argument put forth by the girl's counsel pertaining to the said sum being a "gift" that he was bequeathing to his daughter and instances of a person who gave a gift to somebody else out of his own free will turning around and reclaiming the gift as his very own were unheard off and an absurdity/anomaly......
He instead chose to wax eloquent on the societal aspects of this case by saying that "our ancient and revered society is characterised by a plethora of moral norms that have come to acquire the veneer/sanctity of laws with the due passage of time"......
"One such age old norm that has acquired this veneer pertains to the parents providing their offspring with the best possible education, material comforts, consortium and other such comforts to the best of their abilities and financial capabilities and it is also commonplace to expect that the children would reciprocate this gesture by being dutiful children and honouring the practices and norms that have been in existence within the familial fold for decades"......
"In this case, the daughter chose to violate the sanctity/limits laid down on her by her parents out of her own free will and hence failed to honour the social contract that was in existence between them and hence the father was well within his rights to withhold the sums that became payable to her on the date of her attaining majority as she was the one who had breached the deep rooted bonds of love, trust and bonhomie that existed between them before her wilful and unsavoury act of elopement and hence had no locus standii or legal grounds on which she could challenge her father's decision".......
Notch up one more victory to the conservatives, radicals and heretics who want to drag this fledgling society that is beginning to shrug off it's archaic and hypocritical face into the "dark and desultory ages" and list out one more defeat to the ranks of liberals and forward thinking Indians who want to free this society and nation from the self imposed yoke of "social slavery".........

YET ANOTHER MODI "MYTH" EXPLODED.......

One ardently remembers Gujarat chief minister and the "saffron" party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Bhai Modi patting his own back and making tall claims about Gujarat being the only state in the nation where one does not have to pay "bribes" or any other form of illegal gratification to get any governmental work done......
Alas, for Narendra Modi his bubble was unceremoniously burst by one Arvind Kejriwal who conclusively established the fact that Gujarat was one of the most corrupt and immoral states in the country and now comes this sordid tale of a government official demanding and exorbitant sum of money from an applicant for rendering official favours.......
An alert and conscientious team of Anti Corruption Bureau officials caught a village sarpanch's husband and the very same panchayat's computer operator while they were in the midst of accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/- from a resident of the village on the pretext of extending the benefits that were due to him under the central government run Indira Aawas Yojana......
The corrupt and immoral duo were caught red handed earlier today near Viramgam (on the outskirts of Ahmedabad) while they were in the act of accepting and siphoning off the illegal gratification......
Amarsinh Chavda a long time resident of Ghoda village near Viramgam had recently applied for a house under the auspices of the government run scheme, he then decided to approach the village panchayat and enquire about the status of his application......
He was however shocked and disgusted beyond words when the panchayat's computer operator one Jayesh Rawal apprised him of the fact that his application would be duly forwarded to the concerned department, but he would have to dole out the princely sum of Rs. 10,000/- in order to ensure that the benefits due to him came his way......
Rawal further went on to say that he was only acting as a middleman for the village's sarpanch and that the amount demanded would ultimately buffer her already burgeoning bank balance and that her husband one Pravin Singhav would accept the amount of her behalf from Chavda.......
Unfortunately for the duo, the applicant (Chavda) was made of sterner stuff and he made an immediate beeline towards the offices of the anti corruption bureau and then proceeded to lay a trap for the avaricious duo in active consultation with the sleuths from the afore mentioned bureau.......
Matters came to a head earlier this afternoon when two anti corruption bureau inspectors K.T. Kamaria, R.S. Sharma and their team of constables reached the Bank of Maharashtra's Viramgam branch where Rawal. was supposed to come and collect the promised "bribe" amount.....
Rawal was arrested from the spot, while Singhav was arrested from the village sarpanch's residence within an hour or so, the two of them are currently cooling their heels in a police lock up and will be duly produced before a judicial magistrate on Wednesday........

UNHOLY "CAR MANIA"......

The world is certainly becoming a more materialistic place by the day and a few people will go to seemingly obscene and insane lengths to procure the material object of their desire as this sordid and sorry narrative will prove beyond all reasonable doubt......
A Bareilly based young woman and her newly wedded husband even went to the seemingly obscene length of lodging a FIR against the young woman's father and levelling grave charges of making an obscene MMS of his own daughter and widely circulating the same on the internet therein.......
Their goose was well and truly cooked when the Bareilly Police stumbled upon the startling fact that no such allegedly "obscene" MMS was ever in existence and the FIR lodged against the girl's father was a rather dastardly and devious attempt to blackmail the young woman's father into parting with the new car that was originally bought for the young woman's wedding.........
As is customary in all such cases, the local police launched a detailed investigation and even went to the extent of roping in the services of a cyber expert to trace the so called 'obscene' MMS and establish it's incidents, but their enthusiasm was dashed somewhat when the said MMS remained untraceable even after 4 days.......
"Daal main zaroor kuchch kaala hain", the investigating officer surmised and subjected the complainant (young woman) and her husband to an intensive and sustained spell of interrogation, and lo and behold, the errant couple even admitted the fact that the father of the young woman and his two alleged accomplices had never made or crafted the so called "graphic" MMS in the first place as mentioned in the FIR.......
They then proceeded to throw light on a series of mishaps or rather tragi-comic episodes that culminated in their levelling charges of this magnitude against the girl's (young woman's) innocent and unsuspecting father.....
According to the investigating officer the young woman's marriage was initially fixed to the man she was married to some six or so months ago, the young woman's father was initially opposed to this marriage, but later went along with the same and even booked a swanking new car in the young woman's name as a token of his blessings to their union......
This however did not go down well with the boy's family members and other relatives who vented their collective ire against the young woman's father and insisted that the ownership of the very same car be transferred on the young man's name.......
What started off as a minor irritant soon escalated to the point of never return and the proposed wedding between the two was called off some three months or so ago on account of the mutual acrimony and discord that had developed between the two families on account of the car in question......
Love seemingly triumphed (????) when the two young lovers eloped and got married on the sly a little over a month back and the young woman's father albeit grudgingly accepted their union with equanimity and even blessed the young couple......
But, to his dismay and consternation, the young couple was obsessed with the idea of laying their hands on the "gift" (swanking new car) through any means irrespective of their legality or otherwise and this furtive attempt at trying to implicate the young woman's father in a web of sleaze and intrigue was the brainchild of the "devilish" duo who wanted to lay their hands on the car no matter what.......
The shoe is on the other foot right now and the newly married couple find themselves staring down the wrong end of a dark and dingy tunnel that leads to darkness, gloom and utter despair, the Bareilly police have framed charges against them under the relevant sections of the law and will be duly arresting them and producing them before a judge for sentencing as soon as they have tied up the loose ends and established a watertight case against them........
"Just desserts for a conniving and mammonesque duo who knew no better", did I hear someone quip.......

COMMANDOS AND ROBBERS IN ONE LIFETIME.......

It certainly takes all kinds to make this world; bandits, rapists, errant tycoons, honest and upright cops and last but not the least cops who venture out of their "home" cities on "secret and clandestine" missions especially those of the personally enriching kind.......
Mohammad Fakhruddin, a special commando from the Manipur police force had arrived in the national capital around 4 (four) days back on what was supposed to be a "secret" mission of the classified kind and was slated to enjoy a week long sojourn in the national capital on the same pretext.......
Alas, for him and his aides in arms alert and agile Delhi police sleuths blew the lid/cover off the purported "secret" mission by discovering that this mission was all about procuring (stealing) high end and high speed bikes from unsuspecting owners and transporting the same back to Manipur by any means possible as there was a thriving and flourishing market for these very same bikes in the north eastern state......
According to the investigating officer/s Fakhruddin had teamed up/joined forces with one Satyajit Sharma, a science graduate for putting their heinous plans into action; the duo only targeted "premium" high speed motorcycles whose market value was in the vicinity of Rs. 85,000/- and above as there was an inordinately high demand for the same in their native land......
The methodology employed by the duo was simple yet daring, they would initially carry out a detailed survey of their targeted areas during the day for two-three days before identifying the bikes that they planned to steal under the cover of darkness, they would then proceed to knock off one bike at a time and transport the same through railway parcels that were received by their accomplices at the other end of the line......
"four bikes have been recovered from the infamous duo thus far and during the course of their interrogation, they have revealed the fact that they used to receive Rs. 25-30,000 for every bike delivered safely", the investigating officer reveals.......
Fakhruddin is originally a commando who has a long standing association with the Indian Reserve Battalion ( a special force within the Manipur police ranks) who had arrived in the national capital for the first ever time while his accomplice and trusted aide Satyajit had been booked and arrested for similar misdemeanours/crimes on at least three separate occasions in the past.......
According to a passenger list received from the Northern Railway sources, Satyajit and Fakhruddin arrived in the national capital in the wee hours of March 20 and subsequently proceeded to successfully steal a high end/speed bike which was parked right outside the residence of a Manipuri official associated with the agriculture ministry......
"This bike was stolen just after the sun had gone down beyond the horzon on March 21 from South Delhi's R.K. Puram area (which is the chosen residential area of many a government servant) and were making arrangements for transporting the same to Manipur", the area's ACP said.......
"We managed to arrest them from their abode in South Delhi's Sunlight Colony which falls in the well known Ashram Chowk area, thanks to a timely tip off and recover four stolen bikes from their hideout", the Acp signs off.......
"A third accomplice however managed to flee from the spot a few minutes before the arresting police team arrived on the scene and we have launched a massive manhunt for him based upon the graphic and comprehensive physical description provided by his two arrested friends"........
"During the course of a rather lengthy and exhaustive interrogation the duo not only confessed to their crimes, but also shed light on their modus operandi which involved two-three days of scouting, identifying potential goodies, the transportation of the same to their home state and last but not the least fleeing from the city within a week or so so that the city's police could not identify and ensnare them", DCP (south east) P. Karunakaran said.......
"Lady luck however deserted them this time and we have sent a detailed report to our Manipuri counterparts detailing the number and nature of offences committed by their man on the spot and also demanded his immediate dismissal from the Manipur Police ranks" the DCP concludes........
One had heard about the archetypal policewallah being the most notorious goonda and crafty thief of them all; but this is the first time that one is seeing/witnessing a live demonstration/example of the dictum......
I for one, have always sought answers to the eternal conundrum about numerous people taking to crime despite knowing that their ultimate destination is either the jails or then the gallows as the case may be; people still continue to take to crime with renewed enthusiasm and a scarce/scant care about the ultimate outcome, I wonder why.......

DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE IN MODI'S GUJARAT.......

Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Bhai Modi has been waxing eloquent on women's issues for an interminable period of time and holding all and sundry but himself responsible for the grave state of affairs.......
Alas, like all pompous bags of hot air, Modi failed to address women related issues on his home turf, a first year nursing student of Ahmedabad';s prestigious J.G.School of Nursing was allegedly molested by the assistant cook of her college hostel on Saturday and Modi and his numerous acolytes have been maintaining a stoic silence on this burning issue.......
Major unrest was reported from the college campus as representatives from the NSUI and other students' bodies went on the rampage and took the college authorities to task for their abject failure to ensure the safety and security of girl students on the campus despite several representations and written complaints........
According to the victims close friends and confidantes, she was sitting in her hostel room all by herself when the accused (assistant cook) Surendrasinh Rathod surreptitiously entered her room and asked her if she was hungry.......
When she replied in the negative, the accused instead of withdrawing form her room began holding her hand, coming intimately close to her and started groping and feeling her up; the girl tried to ward off his advances and began screaming for help at the top of her voice......
Fearing that he would be exposed and more importantly lose his means of livelihood, Rathod began strangling the victim in an effort to effectively silence her; the frail looking girl however kept fighting back with ferocious strength and even sustained scratch marks, bruises and other bleeding injuries on her neck,face and other parts of her being.........
As the girls cries for help began growing louder and more forceful despite his best efforts to subdue her; Rathod decided that retreat was the chosen course of action and hurriedly made good his escape from the victim's hostel room........
Her friends and fellow hostel mates who rushed to her aid found her quivering, hysterical and nothing more than a shrivelled up bundle of abject misery, they promptly made their way to the dean's office seeking immediate action against the assistant cook and then submitted a written representation to his administrative assistant when they did not find him in his office........
As no official action was forthcoming on the part of the college authorities till 5 pm in the evening, the girls thought it fit to establish contact with the NSUI representatives who came to the college and staged a dharna demanding the arrest of the culprit and enhanced safety measures for the girl students........
In defence of his group of institutions, John G. Verghese, chairman of the J.G. group of colleges conjured up this hackneyed and stereotyped defence about the matter being brought to his notice on Saturday evening and went on to add that a board of inquiry had been constituted to conduct an impartial and expeditious inquiry and also lodge a police complaint against the accused if required.........
He also added the fact that the hostel's head cook Ramsinh Rathod had promptly issued an apology on his nephew Surendrasinh's behalf and letting matters rest would be the most desirable outcome to the imbroglio for the time being.........
One wonders whether this is the universal rule in Modi's Gujarat and if "prompt and sincere" apologies are reason enough to let all such matters/cases of molestation "rest" and subsequently be erased from the public's memory in the long run........

NON PARTISAN POLICE FORCE OR POLITICAL MASTERS FAITHFUL DOG????

The national capital's amorous and predatory menfolk will sexually assault anything irrespective of height, shape, size, skin colour, nationality and so and so forth as long as it remotely resembles a female form.......
A 20 year old Congolese woman was the latest statistic on an already burgeoning list or crime sheet as two cloth merchants unceremoniously entered her abode within the national capital on Friday afternoon and forced themselves upon her.......
In her statement made before the Delhi Police officials alleged that "the two offenders entered her rented accommodation in South Delhi's Hauz Rani area (Malviya Nagar Constituency) at around 12:30 pm on Friday afternoon on the pretext of showing her the latest designs in dress wear material; over powered and silenced her and then proceeded to rape her more than once each"..,......
"She provided additional information about the physical appearance of her two assailants and added that the two repeatedly knocked on her door and beseeched her to take a look at the colourful and vibrant dress materials that they were carrying along with them"........
"I made the horrendous and criminal mistake of taking them at face value and paid the price for admitting them into my home as they overpowered me while I was perusing the dress material on offer, gagged me and then proceeded to rape me as many times as they desired"........
The victim was sent to a government medical facility for a detailed medical examination and the results/conclusions of the same are awaited......
In the meanwhile, as is their wont, the investigating Delhi Police officials have raised doubts about the character of the complainant and released a statement saying that the CCTV footage obtained from the surrounding/adjoining areas has failed to show any images whatsoever of the two alleged offenders/rapists entering the frame between 8 am and 2 pm on the fateful Friday.......
They have also alleged that the statement recorded by the victim seemed to be baseless and less than truthful as the victim kept changing her statement repeatedly and constantly contradicted herself in the bargain........
While yet another police official went to the ridiculous extent of saying that the woman's character and integrity was far from trustworthy as her neighbours had made statements to the effect that she had repeatedly threatened to implicate her landlord in a rape case and that the complaint filed by her may be nothing more than a belated attempt to make good her threat......
I for one would like to ask the investigating Delhi Police officers the following questions,
# whether they have availed of the services of a sketch artist and widely distributed/circulated the sketches made by the very same artist on the basis of the descriptions provided by the victim.......
# whether or not they have prepared detailed and meticulous physical descriptions of the two assailants on the basis of the victim's statement and whether or not the same has been circulated to all police stations falling within the NCR region.......
# whether or not the CCTV's installed in the vicinity covered the area lying just outside/leading up to the victim's abode within the purview of their coverage area........
# and last but not the least, their commissioner had issued grandiose statements lauding his subordinates and fellow officers for the due diligence and sterling/exemplary sense of duty shown by them when they failed to take cognisance of the statements made by a former minister as well as residents from a particular South Delhi locality against a few Nigerian woman and hailed their attempts to "safeguard the safety, chastity and integrity" of the Nigerian women......
# Mr. Police Commissioner, what is the difference made by women belonging to different nations within the African continent, are the statements made by the Nigerian women implicating the former Delhi Minister and the so called lynch mob "draped in the hues of morality, truth and uprightness"; while the statement made by the Congolese national is draped in "falsehood, lies and defies all laid limits of incredulity".......
# Different strokes for different folks; or then yet another "loyalist" attempt to denigrate and dishonour the Aam Aadmi party's elected representatives at the behest of your political lords and masters belonging to the Congress and saffron parties.........

VIRENDER SEHWAG: CONGRESS PARTY'S "CHOSEN" ONE????

Not doing well in your chosen filed and currently out of favour with the five supposedly wise men of Indian cricket (our national selectors)???? fear not as politics and a ticket to political stardom well might prove to be your next destination.......
Highly placed sources within the Indian National Congress have duly confirmed the whispers about the party roping in the renowned Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag into the party fold also offering him the golden opportunity of contesting as the party's candidate from the ultra prestigious South Delhi constituency.........
One may do well to remember that Sehwag's sister Anju Meherwal is a long standing Congress member as well as the municipal councillor from the Dakshinpuri Extension ward which is an integral part of the above mentioned ultra prestigious constituency.......
Sehwag has also displayed a more than passing interest in the offer made to him by the Congress party bigwigs and is said to be actively considering the same as he was last seen in Indian colours almost two years back and is in the twilight of his career being on the wrong side of 35 and all that......
On his part, Sehwag has maintained a studied silence on the issue thus far, he has failed or then chosen not to respond the numerous queries posed to him by the national media on this issue and an enigmatic smile has been the only response that the media has been able to elicit from him thus far.......
If Sehwag bites the bait, he will join the ranks of two other former Indian cricketers Mohammad Azharuddin and Mohammad Kaif both of whom are trying their luck at the political hustings in team Congress colours.......
As a Congress bigwig put it, " the party does need a celebrity face to turn the turbulent tide that is currently not flowing in the party's favour within the national capital"......
"Sehwag is a known and instantly recognised/identified face and a Jat to boot, he will not only garner the thousands of Gujjar and Jat votes that are on offer within the South Delhi constituency but also help the party in consolidating it's hold on the votes of these two communities in such other constituencies where their votes are crucial to the ultimate outcome", the party bigwig signed off........
Will Sehwag indeed grab the carrot that is being dangled before him by a rather desperate Congress Party that seems to be at the end of it's tether or then will he prefer to let his bat do the talking in the forthcoming Deodhar Trophy as well as IPL matches????shall we wait for Sehwag to provide us with the answer to this conundrum in his trademark style.....

HANDMAIDEN OF A PRIVILEGED FEW........

Our men in khakhi; especially those belonging to the "elite" echelons of the Delhi Police are certainly not immune to the charms of Delhi's womenfolk and do feel the need to grab a feel or grope them periodically as the below mentioned incident proves......
A Delhi Police Head Constable has been arrested/apprehended on charges of molesting a young Delhi University student in the capital city's posh Lodhi Colony area on Monday evening.......
Narendra Kumar, the errant cop was duly posted with Delhi Police's security wing and is currently under suspension as a FIR was filed against him for his furtive attempt to grope and molest a woman in a bustling area on Monday......
Kumar has currently been remanded to judicial custody and a departmental enquiry has also been ordered against him; a senior officer of ACP rank has been asked to conduct the enquiry against him and submit a report within the next 30 days........
According to the officer conducting the enquiry" Kumar was on his way home on the fateful Monday evening when he happened upon the 23 year old DU student".......
"Going against his normal nature and the manner in which he is known to conduct himself, Narendra then proceeded to use the lewdest words and phrases in his attempt to describe the young lady's anatomy".......
"He however did not stop with making these lewd remarks and felt emboldened enough to cope a feel and molest the young woman for a ten minute long period or so"........
"Kumar was arrested on the basis of the complaint filed by him by the victim at the city's Lodhi Road Police station on Tuesday morning, he is currently under suspension and more serious action could be taken against him if the charges levelled against him are proved beyond all reasonable doubt", the investigating officer sounded off.......
One must certainly marvel at the double standards and hypocrisy that seems to abound within the rank and file of the "esteemed" Delhi Police Force........
On the one hand, they baulk at filing cases against women of dubious credentials despite hundreds of residents of a particular locality and a former minister leading the charge and on the other, they only suspend a head constable against whom charges of molestation have been levelled and will conclusively be proved in due course...........

A BLOODY HARVEST........

Lawlessness and the Samajwadi party seem to be as thick as thieves what with 21 year old's being bludgeoned to death in the state capital and the Samajwadi party supremo seeing pipe dreams of becoming the nation's next prime minister despite "remote controlling" the most inefficient government in the history of the state.........
A young man of two score and a bit years (21 years) was brutally and barbarically bludgeoned to death by unknown or unidentified assailants in the state capital on Tuesday evening.......
A long time resident of the city's Indiranagar "B" block, the victim who was identified as one Kishore Kumar Rawat had left his home and hearth at around 1 pm on that fateful day after duly informing his mother that he was stepping out in order to meet and bond with a few friends.......
As he did not return home till around 5:30 pm or so in the evening, worried family members began repeatedly calling him up on his mobile but were perplexed by the constant refrain about his phone being switched off........
An anonymous phone call from an unknown number at around 7 pm or so shattered their idyllic and loving world for eternity as the stranger callously informed the Rawat family about their son having joined the ranks of the deceased........
"He then went on to order me to collect my son's battered body from a vacant and deserted plot in the vicinity of the Malhaur Railway station in an extremely dispassionate yet sinister and blood curdling manner", the inconsolable father of the victim goes on to add.........
Taking the extremely distressing phone call at face value, the father of the victim Rambalak Rawat duly reached the vacant plot located in the Vigyaan Khand area of the city in the company of a few policemen and was confronted by the gory and gruesome sight of his son's badly smashed and repeatedly bludgeoned head.........
A blood drenched or then soaked stone and scores of empty country or desi liquor bottles were recovered from the same location and the recovery of the same seems to indicate the irrefutable fact that the grotesque murder was not only premeditated but was carried out in a cold, planned and inhuman manner........
The clueless and bewildered Lucknow police has registered a case of abduction and murder against persons unknown; "continued interrogation of the family members and relatives of the deceased have shed considerable light on the possible motives behind the murder and also provided us with valuable insights on the probable identities of the culprits/murderers".........
"We have constituted three teams with immediate effect and are extremely hopeful about cracking this rather mystifying case within the next few days", the investigating officer parrots........
Stale crumbs of comfort, warm words of solace to a grieving family that has lost a loved one forever; or then a face saver by a member of a police force that is irreparably compromised and only pays heed to the diktats of it's political masters.......
