FOOT IN MOUTH DISEASE?????

Trust the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate to put his foot in his mouth and display his abject ignorance of our history times without end as has become his wont and patent......
In his latest gaffe, Shri Narendra Modi once again conveniently manipulated the history of our freedom struggle to conveniently suit his chequered view or then knowledge of our glorious history and sent Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to the cellular jail (Kaala Paani) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands; while the fact of the matter is that Veer Savarkar and not the three above mentioned notables spent a considerable period of time there in glorious isolation........
History has it that Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades and arms were incarcerated in various jails in and around the national capital Delhi after their arrest on April 8,1929, they were then sent to the Mianwali jail and finally hanged in the Lahore Central Prison after the due completion of a farcical trial in March 1931.........
Shri Modi committed this faux pas (if one can call it that) while enunciating his vision of India 2022: India after 75 years of independence at the inaugural function of "E-Nagar" in the Gujarat capital of Gandhinagar on Wednesday........
Recalling the invaluable contributions of the young and committed revolutionaries who laid down their lives in the cause of the nation with a smile on their lips, Modi went on to repeatedly claim and reiterate the dubious fact that Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev had spent a considerable period of their rather short lives incarcerated in the cellular jail in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.........
"The merest mention of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades makes my hair stand on end, why did these young men embrace the gallows, why did they spend years together in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands????The freedom that they selflessly laid down their lives for should be resplendent in it's glory in it's 75th year", Modi said during the course of his public address........
One ,may do well to recall the fact that this is not the first instance wherein Modi has put his foot in his mouth and committed a historical blunder of Himalayan proportions; speaking at a public function in Kheda last year Modi castigated the Congress party for it's failure to recover the ashes of the Jan Sangh's founder Shyama Prasad Mookherjee from Switzerland........
What Modi conveniently forgot to mention is the fact that he had once again manipulated India's history in his convoluted style and the figure he was referring to was freedom fighter Shyamaji Krishan Varma and not the founder of his party's predecessor the Jan Sangh.........
Can we take the considerable risk of entrusting the reins of this country in the hands of a man who is an ignoramus and shows a remarkable penchant for placing historical icons in the wrong place at the wrong time or then does our glorious motherland indeed deserve better and more informed prime ministerial candidates who are well versed with both our cultural as well as political history??????....
Well, I leave the answer to your considerable wisdom in the fond hope that you will indeed take the right decision at the right time...........

BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!!!!!!!

In a case straight out of the annals of a Hercule Poirot whodunit or then a Perry Mason edge of the seat thriller, a talking parrot essayed the role of detective and played an integral or then should I say starring role in helping the hapless Agra police nab the murderer of his mistress and faithful pet dog.........
Believe it or not, the Agra police officials were baffled, bewildered and befuddled by the riddle/puzzle of who brutally murdered Neelam Sharma, 45 and her pet dog for well over a week until Hercule the talking parrot came to their rescue and provided them with an invaluable clue that set them on the right path..........
Neelam, the spouse/legally married wife of Vijay Sharma editor-in-chief of a local Hindi daily and her faithful pet dog of quiet a few years were found lying in a pool of blood on the intervening night of February 19/20 in their residence within this historic city and the police were literally at their wit's end trying to identify the murderer........
Neelam's grieving and sorrowful husband however duly noted a drastic change in the behaviour of their pet parrot who started screeching on the top of his voice every time his nephew Ashutosh frequented his residence after the gruesome murder of his wife........
He also duly noted the fact that the parrot would become highly agitated and start cawing in a discordant tone whenever the said Ashutosh's name was mentioned in his presence, he trusted the parrot's instincts and duly informed the investigating officer about his suspicions regarding Ashutosh.........
As expected, Ashutosh broke down under sustained police interrogation and admitted the fact that he had indeed committed the crime with the aid of a more than willing accomplice........
According to Ashutosh" both he and his partner in crime had entered the house with the ignoble intention of making away with his aunt's jewellery and other precious valuables to fund their betting habit".........
He also went on to confess that he did indeed repeatedly stab his aunt and her pet dog repeatedly in an effort to silence them as he was petrified of the fact that his aunt would recognise him and spill the beans to the police and also because of the fact that the dog had begun barking incessantly and he was wary of the inquisitive neighbours coming down to enquire why the dog was barking.........
However, Ashutosh failed to recognise the lurking peril of the parrot who was a silent spectator to the bloodbath.........
Ashutosh who was taken into custody on the late evening of February 26 is currently cooling his heels in judicial custody and wondering about what might have been if not for the parrot who spilled the beans in his own inimitable way............
As for wannabe murderers, kindly ensure that no parrots are on the prowl as these feathered "wise one's" are more than capable of spilling the beans and landing you in a sticky predicament...........

PORIBARTAN MAMATA ISHTYLE..........

Physical infirmities or then should I say impediments/challenges are certainly no deterrent for wannabe rapists as this incident that occurred a few days ago in West Bengal's Hooghly district pervertedly reveals......
A 23 year old physically challenged woman was firstly raped by a bunch of hoodlums and then thrown off the roof of her single storied abode in West Bengal's Hooghly district about a week or so ago as her family members had a long standing dispute over a piece of land with the family of one of her assailants........
To compound their misery and rub salt on their wounds, the victim's family was also repeatedly prevented from lodging a police complaint about the tragic incident that had befallen their daughter by a local Trinamool Congress councillor who is supposed to be extremely close to the families of the alleged rapists...........
The grieving and long suffering family members of the victim only managed to file a police complaint against the four alleged rapists after a local voluntary organisation took up cudgels on their behalf and led them to the nearest police station on Tuesday morning........
According to the investigating officer a long standing land dispute between the families of the rapists and the victim might have been the immediate provocation behind this dastardly act; "we are probing all angles of the case expeditiously and hope to come to a conclusion soon", the investigating officer concluded........
Swinging into action without any delay, the local police officials first sent the victim to a local government hospital where tests carried out on her conclusively established the fact that she was indeed gang raped and also managed to nab the four rapists named in the FIR from one of their hideouts on Tuesday evening.........
Sticking to the usual script, senior Trinamool Congress vehemently denied the involvement of the local TMC councillor Jainal Mullick in the sordid imbroglio.........
One of them even went as far as saying that the alleged involvement of the TMC councillor was nothing more than a figment of the imagination of a mind corrupted by the Communist/Maoist doctrines.........
Subir Mukherjee, incumbent state secretary of the Trinamool Congress gave his party man a clean chit by citing the fact that the party's local unit was yet to receive any complaint from the victim's family in this regard and also spouted the twisted and warped logic that the absence of any complaint completely negated the involvement of any TMC functionary in the incident.........
One would indeed do well to recall the fact that this is not the first such alleged incident allegedly involving a TMC functionary and that the local police are yet to initiate any action against the TMC affiliated sarpanch who sanctioned the gang rape of a young woman who showed exemplary courage and spunk in establishing a relationship with a youth belonging to a different community and a neighbouring village.........
News channels were carrying reports of this macabre incident involving 13 rapists and the solitary victim for a good 3-4 days in practically every bulleting before they lost interest in the incident and the TMC got the opportunity off sweeping one more such triviality under the carpet.........

THE YOUNGER, THE BETTER.........

The younger the better seems to be the ruling dictum as far as the burgeoning number of the national capital's rapists and sexual predators are concerned; after all the age of the victim and whether or not she can defend herself or even begin to comprehend the travesty committed against her are mere trivialities that fade in view of the fact that the victim is nothing more than an outlet for their unbridled lust.........
In the latest such incident reported from our supposed "pride and glory" i.e. our national capital, a two year old toddler was allegedly raped by her 35 year old neighbour in outer Delhi's Alipur area on Tuesday; the rapist was however apprehended by the area's resident and they chose to dish or then mete out their own brand of punishment before handing over the assaulter to the local police.........
The two year old victim whose condition is slated to be highly critical was initially rushed to the neighbouring Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital and subsequently referred to central Delhi's Lok Nayak hospital later on Tuesday evening...........
Her condition was described as "highly critical" by the doctors attending to her who also added that they were waiting for her condition to stabilise somewhat before they could begin performing a series of operations and corrective surgeries to repair her torn and mutilated sexual as well as internal organs...........
"She is being constantly monitored by a team of specialists and the next 48-72 hours are going to be extremely critical in both her treatment as well as chances of surviving her horrendous ordeal", the medical superintendent of the above mentioned hospital succinctly remarked..........
The two year old toddler is a resident of the Tikri Khurd village in the Alipur area of the national capital and was lured away from the precincts of her house on the pretext of buying her chocolates on Tuesday morning by one Manjeet Pandey who also happens to live nearby..............
35 year old Manjeet Pandey, the alleged rapist hails from Bihar's Rohtas district and earns his living as a daily wage labourer according to police sources.........
Taking undue advantage of the fact that he was well acquainted with her family members and a constant visitor to their house, Manjeet took the little girl away from her house on the pretext of buying chocolates and playing with her early on Tuesday morning......
He then proceeded to lead her to a somewhat secluded spot and brutally assault her; the incident came to light about an hour or so when the worried family members started searching for the girl and found her in a pitiable, mutilated and grievously wounded state some 200 hundred metres away from her abode.......
They immediately raised a hue and cry and the same resulted in the apprehending of the alleged assaulter who is currently pondering over his future in judicial custody...........
One really wonders whether we have indeed lost the last vestiges of humanity for good; two year old's are increasingly becoming the victims of animal like human beings bestiality and savagery and we do precious little apart from shaking our heads and uttering a silent prayer of thanks to the almighty for ensuring that this sorry fate did not befall our daughters and loved one's.............

PHIR BHI TANHAIYON KA SHIKAAR AADMI........

Alleged flare ups amongst family members and supposed financial adversities led to the untimely demise of four members of a South West Delhi based family on Tuesday.......
According to Delhi police sources, 34 year old dry cleaner Ravinder Kanojia smothered/strangled his wife and two daughters to death and then hanged himself from the bed room's ceiling fan after confirming that his wife and two daughters were no more........
This macabre incident came to light in the wee hours of this (Wednesday) morning when the milkman (doodhwallah) failed to elicit any response from the inmates of the house in the Kakrola Village that abuts the sprawling Dwarka Sector 15 area.........
The milkman subsequently forced open the front door with the help of neighbours of the family and was shocked out of his wits when he was confronted with the grotesque sight of Ravinder's corpse hanging from the ceiling and the corpses of his wife and two daughters aged 8 and 6 years respectively lying on the bed as if asleep.........
Somehow managing to keep their wits about them, the neighbours then proceeded to summon the area police who rushed to the spot and confirmed that all four ,members of the Kanojia family were indeed no more........
Intensive questioning of the neighbours and relatives threw light on the fact that the family was facing unprecedented financial problems off late; while a few neighbours also alluded to the fact that daily strife and quarrels were the order of the day with the Kanojia family off late.........
Sticking to the script, the Dwarka police has registered a case of unnatural death and launched a comprehensive investigation to ascertain whether or not Ravinder Kanojia was indeed responsible for the death's of his family and himself.............
"Investigations are on and we can only come to a definite conclusion once we have established the facts, motive and circumstances leading up to this heart rending and tragic incident", the investigating officer said..........
Which brings us back to the question as to why urban families are beginning to feel completely isolated and alienated despite the presence of numerous suicide helplines, counsellors, well wishers, relatives, and so called friends and neighbours.........
Is alienation, isolation and an overwhelming and all pervading sense of loneliness and forlorness the price we pay for our insatiable pursuit of money, money, money; one does need to strike a healthy balance between the pursuit of material wealth and spiritual riches as the key to a happy,fulfilling and satisfying life lies in putting the two in their appropriate spheres and domains..........

MURDER MOST FOUL.........

One has certainly heard and witnessed lovers of all hues conjuring up newer and more innovative ways and means of wooing their lady loves; but plunging a knife into the heart of a married woman on a day that celebrates love in all it's splendour is surely taking matters a tad too far.......
An unidentified youth/assailant plunged a knife into the heart of a 26 year old married woman at around 7:30 pm on Valentines Day in the Karol Bagh area of the national capital almost killing her instantly........
The victim, Simranjeet Kaur was gainfully employed as a Human Resources Professional in a Noida based MNC and was just about to enter her cousin's abode when the killer who had been stalking her for sometime, stumbled into her on purpose and plunged a newly acquired double edged knife deep into her heart........
Video footage obtained from CCTV's installed in a neighbouring house show a shadowy figure (young man) clad in jeans and a light coloured jacket tailing the woman, reaching her, stumbling into her from behind, plunging the knife fatally into her chest and scampering away from the spot post haste without bothering to ascertain the plight of his victim........
A robbery has been ruled out as the motive behind this sordid crime as the attacker/murdered left the victim's purse/handbag, gold chain around her neck, gold bangles adorning her slender wrists and mobile phone behind, the fact that the weapon of choice in the crime was a brand new double edged knife completely rules out the robbery angle as such weapons are not habitual offenders choice of weapon according to police sources investigating the crime..........
As is the norm in all such cases, the initial needle of suspicion always points towards the husband/spouse and the victim's husband is still to be laid of the hook, or then given a clean chit although the police are probing all conceivable or possible angles.........
According to Sandeep Goyal, Joint Commissioner of Police (Central Range) three teams have been constituted to conscientiously and professionally probe every angle of this crime; the teams have established a few early leads and the investigations are thus far proceeding satisfactorily according to him.........
Simranjeet lived with her husband of two years in the Nanakpura area of South Delhi, her husband is gainfully employed as a software engineer with IT major HCL; while her parents are long time residents of the West Karol Bagh area and the cousin's house that Simranjeet was just about to step into is just a couple of doors away from her parent's house.......
Simranjeet's cousin had given birth to her baby a little over a week ago and only made her way home from hospital on the morning of that fateful Friday morning, the victim had left her Noida office at around 6:30 pm with the express intention of visiting her cousin and she boarded the metro and also spoke to her husband approximately 15 minutes before the metro train reached her destination........
She alighted from the metro train between 7:15 to 7:20 pm and began walking towards her cousin's house which is a 10 minute walk from the metro station; the CCTV cameras installed at the station do not have footage of her assailant following her from the very minute she left the metro station, but 2 CCTV cameras installed in the immediate vicinity of her cousin's home show both the victim and her assailant walking in close proximity with each other for the first time at around 7:33 pm or so.......
The assailant then proceeds to cast furtive and hasty glances all around in an effort to ascertain whether anybody is watching him and pauses for a moment when a scooterist who is on the list of suspects zips past the very spot and then makes a U turn; the killer then proceeds to plunge his knife deep into her heart between 7:36 and 7:37 pm and leaves behind a grievously wounded victim, the murder weapon, her handbag and laptop strewn around the spot where the victim has collapsed in a pool of her own blood.........
Despite being mortally wounded the victim cries out "chor,chor" (thief,thief) in a piteous voice and family members who hear the commotion rush to her aid and rush her to the nearby Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where the doctors declare her to be dead on arrival.........
Despite the CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts, murder weapon, retrieval of finger prints from the crime scene and post mortem report the much maligned Delhi Police is struggling to come up with convincing answers to the queries about this being a crime of passion, crime engineered by her husband as he was the only one who knew about her plans to visit her cousin's abode or then a case of mistaken identity.........
Whatever the motive may be, the fact of the matter is that the Delhi police have woefully and conspicuously failed to assuage the heart rending voice of the soul of an unsuspecting and oblivious victim who was blissfully unaware of the identity of her attacker and the reason why she was at the receiving end of a knife that snuffed out her life in it's prime........
Yet another case of the Delhi Police failing to live up to it's dictum or motto of "with you for you" and it's pronounced inability to solve murder cases within a specified, time bound and expeditious manner........

TWICE IN A DAY.......

It certainly seems to be going from bad to worse as far as Indian women are concerned; what with them being raped twice during the course of a day and that too by people whom they considered to be their friends and confidantes.........
A 16 year old minor was sexually assaulted twice within the matter of a few hours in Rajasthan's Kota district on the Friday that went by........
According to sources who are closely acquainted with the girl she was initially led to a friend's room in the city's Keshavpura area by an acquaintance on the pretext of spending some time together before going for a movie; but to her horror and dismay, her friend turned out to be her worst nightmare who proceeded to brutally rape the class 9 student more than once before making good his escape.........
Her rapist however showed her enough decency and humanity(???) and condescended to drop her off in the vicinity of a public school from where she could wend her way back home without too much effort.......
She (the victim) could not believe her luck and good fortune when she happened or chanced upon yet another 23 year old close acquaintance who answered to the name of Ravi Nagar.........
Ravi offered to play the role fo her knight in shining armour and escort her to the nearest police station after hearing off the calamity that had befallen her; but he had other motives and intentions as subsequent events would go on to prove.......
This supposed guardian angel led her towards his very own computer training institute where he confined her to an isolated room where he firstly sexually assaulted and abused her and then locked her up in the very same before taking to his heels..........
The victim who had somehow managed to hang onto her trustworthy mobile phone then proceeded to mournfully apprise both her father and brother of the calamitous events that had befallen her........
Her father immediately made a beeline towards the Dadabari police station and informed the police officials therein about the sordid saga in which his daughter was the leading figure and the police personnel in turn reached the afore mentioned computer institute and broke open the lock on the door before rescuing her from her temporary prison cell.........
Medical tests carried out on the victim late on Friday evening at a government medical facility have conclusively established the fact that she was indeed raped multiple times.......
On their part, the police authorities have stuck to the time honoured script; booked cases against the two rapists under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) and launched a massive manhunt in the neighbouring/adjoining areas to nab the two accused at the earliest.........
Recent statistics pertaining to rape available on the NCRB (National Crimes Recording Bureau) website clearly underline or point towards the fact that the incidence of rapes and other sexual crimes in states ruled or governed by women chief ministers is almost 18% more in comparison to states ruled or governed by a male chief minister.........
Is it because female chief ministers simply refuse to accept the prevailing ground reality in their states or then simply prefer to bury their heads in the sand like ostriches as ignorance certainly seems to be bliss in this instance.........

IT TAKES ALL KINDS........

It certainly takes all kinds to make this world; no matter however depraved, demented, warped and eccentric the person may be........
A young woman who happens to be a resident of Lincolnshire in old blighty (England) was shocked out of her wits when she came across a graphic video clip of her boyfriend having sex with her beloved pet of many years a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (pet dog) on his mobile phone............
The local police then duly proceeded to arrest the sexually deviant boyfriend (Wayne Bryson) after the horrified woman filed a complaint against him and also handed over the phone that had the evidentiary video clip on it.............
Wayne Bryson who hails from Louth pleaded guilty to the charge of having or performing penetrative sex with his girlfriend's pet dog when he was produced before the Skegness Magistrates' Court last week.........
Though the 19 year old repeatedly pleaded the fact that he had performed such a demented act with an animal (dog) for the first time ever in a moment of weakness and passion; he was only granted bail after giving a written undertaking to the effect that he will henceforth never be seen alone in the company of animals.........
Bryson will now be sentenced on March 5 (the next date of hearing of the case filed against him) and can be sent to one of her majesty's jails for a maximum period of two years if his lordship (the learned judge) so deigns........
As I said earlier; it certainly takes all kinds to make this world and the less said about the morality or otherwise of the above mentioned sexual act the better........

A MOST DASTARDLY CRIME........

They certainly are getting more heinous, devious, barbaric and demonic with every instance of rape and other sexual atrocities committed against women as this gruesome incident that occurred in India's most densely populated state on Friday will reveal........
A girl whose chronological age is yet to be determined or ascertained was allegedly gang raped and strangled to death by her attackers in Eastern Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkar Nagar district on Friday.........
These demons however were not satisfied with raping and snuffing out the life of their victim and subsequently proceeded to disfigure and dismember her face and other identifying features with acid; thereby making her identification a herculean task for the local police as well as other investigating authorities........
"Prima facie it appears to be a grotesque case of rape and murder, the unidentified perpetrators strangled the victim with her own dupatta and then poured copious amounts of acid on her face and hands in an effort to obfuscate and obliterate her identity",Ambedkar Nagar circle inspector of police Hari Govind Mishra said.........
This incident has been reported from the exact geographical location of Satrahi Village in Ambedkar Nagar district some 150 kms away from the state capital (Lucknow), the villagers happened upon the body in their agricultural fields early on Friday morning and duly proceeded to inform the local police.........
In addition to the above mentioned grievous and dismembering injuries scores of other less serious or superficial surface injuries were found on the girl's body..........
"It appears or rather seems to appear as if the culprits firstly raped and murdered the victim some distance away from the spot where the body was ultimately found; they made their way to these agricultural fields under the cover of darkness, dumped the body there and then poured the acid all over the victim in an effort towards erasing her identity for good", local station house officer Om Prakash Yadav added.......
"Comprehensive and far reaching investigations are on and we are making every conceivable or possible effort to identify the deceased at the earliest"' he concluded..........
What is even more worrisome is the fact that this incident comes exactly a day after a dalit woman was allegedly set ablaze by her employer in Western Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahar district's Kirra village area and is the fourth incident involving the usage or then use of acid reported from Uttar Pradesh over the last week or so..........

TRUE LOVE ALWAYS TRIUMPHS?????

Love or then should I say true, selfless and sublime love does indeed find ways and means of manifesting and making itself heard as the ensuing narrative will clearly establish..........
An MA final year student who has been praying ,fasting, making repeated rounds of numerous shrines and tying or then rather contorting herself in knots and crosses; hoping against hope that her long standing male or then should I say boy friend manages to get a temporary reprieve and make his way out of jail so that they can enter into matrimonial bliss on Valentine's Day........
The seemingly infatuated student has spent the last few weeks and months running from pillar to post, leaving no stone unturned in her efforts to guarantee that the man of her dreams 26 year old Kamlesh Kripalani gets released on parole from the Jamnagar District Jail where he is serving a sentence for being an integral part of an illegal bootlegging racket.........
Kripalani and his female companion had decided to tie the knot parental opposition notwithstanding on this Valentine's Day, but their fond and rosy dreams were rudely nipped in the bud by the Khokhra police who arrested Kripalani on January 28 and produced him before a judicial magistrate who has since confided him to judicial custody under the existing prohibition laws in vogue within the state of Gujarat............
Their parents and the rest of their family members are vehemently opposed to their union on account of the fact that Kripalani is a Sindhi and the woman of his dreams a Christian.........
She took upon herself the arduous task of being his guarantor and also temporarily succeed in her task of getting Kripalani a reprieve as he was granted bail by a sessions court on February 7.........
Alas, their sense of relief was fleeting and short lived as the authorities immediately hauled him back into jail and filed cases against him in this instance under the supposedly stringent Prevention of Anti Social Activities Act by clubbing all the bootlegging cases filed against him during the course of the last four years and more..........
This unexpected turn of events only strengthened the young woman's resolve and sense of purpose as she quadrupled her efforts to secure the temporary freedom of her bootlegger boyfriend so that they could get married on the day they had planned to............
The lawyer engaged by her to fight her boyfriend's case; Jayendra Abhavekar revealed the fact that a request for a parole of 30 days was duly filed before the state home secretary on February 9; the same petition also alleges that the cases filed against Kripalani have no legal or factual basis and have only been filed with malafide intentions...........
While seeking parole of the detainee under the PASA act; so that the two of them can enter into holy matrimony under the "Special Marriages Act", the girl in her plea repeatedly mentions the fact that her parents could stoop down to any level and get her married forcibly to a person of their choice if her marriage with her paramour (Kripalani) is not solemnised within a short span or period of time.............
One hopes and prays that the authorities will indeed pay heed to the impassioned and heartfelt pleas of the lovelorn girl and grant her the much desired permission to enter into holy matrimony with her dreamboy...........
The entire universe loves a person who unites two loving hearts and souls; and this very same kindred act could also fetch you a few more thousand votes, Mr. Modi are you listening???????????

Things certainly seem to be on a steady downward spiral for the supposedly venerated and worshipped Indian woman; she is now being subjected to newer and more innovative forms of torture, incarceration and gang rape by her captors who seem to feel that they are above the law.......
A class 7 student was allegedly abducted from Jharkhand's Ramgarh District around a week or so ago and repeatedly gang raped by her abductors and tormentors over a 6 day period........
Accompanied by her parents, the supposed victim (girl) lodged a complaint before the Ramgarh Superintendent of Police R.K. Prasad on Thursday evening..........
"She has since been sent to a government medical facility for further tests and treatment as a cursory examination of the victim failed to conclusively establish the incidence or occurrence of rape", Prasad said.......
According to tne version of events narrated by the girl's hapless parents she was abducted by 3 men Mohammed Chand, Mohammed Nasim and Gul Tuna while on her way to school in Chitterpur, a small town which is some 70 kms away from the state capital of Ranchi.........
This horrendous incident occurred in the Rajrappa area of Ramgarh district on the morning of February 6 according to the victim's sorrowing parents.........
Continuing his tale of woe, the victim's father said, "I received a call from an unidentified number on my mobile from my daughter on the afternoon of February 11, she informed me that she was somewhere in the Sikidiri area of Ranchi district.......
" I immediately made a beeline to the spot post haste and brought my daughter back home without any further ado when her mother apprised me of the grotesque fact that she was repeatedly gang raped by the three above mentioned men over a 6 day period", he added.......
"My daughter was threatened of dire consequences if she either spoke about about the sorry fate that had befallen her, confided in her parents, or then narrated the details of the crime to the police or any other investigating agency", the victim's father concluded.........
Mouthing the usual inanities and promising the sun, moon and earth; Ramgarh Superintendent of Police R.K. Prasad said that the police had registered cases under the applicable sections of what has come to be commonly called the Nirbhaya law against the three accused........
We have also constituted two special teams to trace the culprit's whereabouts and hide outs and have begun the process of carrying out surprise raids on all their known locations, he further added........
Mr. Prasad we are sick and tired of hearing the now familiar homilies and patently hollow expressions of concern regarding the plight of the victim; these stereotyped, oft repeated and archaic measures and utterances are not going to make the Indian girl's and women feel safe, secure and protected.........
A dire and sinister situation calls for the adoption of drastic,time bound and efficacious measures that will nip both crimes against women and the propensity of committing the same with growing impunity.......

STUCK IN A TIME WARP?????

Timely and requisite police intervention did indeed ensure that a calamitous situation about to befall a minor in south west Bengaluru's Kengeri area did indeed culminate in a happy ending..........
A 17 year old minor was about to be bethroted (married off) to her 21 year old cousin at Kengeri's renowned Ganesha Temple at around 4:30 am (in the wee hours of Thursday morning) when the police swooped down upon the venue minutes before the nuptials were solemnised.........
The cops happened upon the spot following a tip off from an anonymous source, the cops demanded that the fervour and celebrations be put off indefinitely as the proposed bride was a minor...........
According to investigating officials, they were tipped off by temple officials who harboured a lurking suspicion about the bride being a minor and who also did no want to be unwilling parties to a child marriage...........
Infuriated and irate family members of the bride claimed that she was 17 years and 11 months of age and that they were doing nothing illegal, unfortunately for them the obstinate police officials simply refused to take them at face value and produce relevant documents to back their age related claims...........
Certificates and other age related documents furnished by the girl's parents failed to satisfy the police officials on the spot and they proceeded to whisk away the bride, bridegroom and family members to the neighbouring police station for further questioning.............
Kengeri police officials stuck to their stance of the girl being a minor and being married illegally to her 21 year old cousin, who happens to be an electrician by profession and a resident of Bengaluru's Banashankari area...........
They also added that they had handed over the case to the child welfare committee for conclusive proof of the girl's age and allied/further legal procedures pertaining to this particular case..............
Further action will be initiated against both the involved families following the receipt of a report from the child welfare committee; they also said that they had sought legal opinion on this one as child marriages were not a daily occurrence and they too were unaware of all the legal procedures related to or associated with the same.............
Hate crimes. racism, religious atrocities and child marriages now; whatever next, Sati, Jauhar, Swayamvars and marriages to trees and deities???one really wonders whether one is indeed a resident of 21st century India, or then stuck in a time warp in a nation yet to shrug off it's 16th century hangover.................

IS SKIPPER DHONI A MATCH FIXER?????

Is team India skipper and the heart throb of millions M.S.Dhoni embroiled in the unsavoury and infamous match fixing scandal that is currently unfurling in the Supreme Court; well, the answer unfortunately lies in the affirmative if a secret report handed over to the Supreme Court by the Justice Mukul Mudgal committee is to believed.........
Yes, you did indeed hear it right a secret report submitted to the Supreme Court by the Justice Mukul Mudgal committee that was expressly constituted to explore the murky world of the IPL match fixing and betting scandal has submitted a secret report in a sealed cover quoting a top Tamil Nadu cop who utters the name of one M.S.Dhoni in his deposition before the very same committee........
Superintendent of Police G. Sampath Kumar's statement/deposition before the Mudgal committee extensively cites/quotes a bookie code named Kitty who has alleged that BCCI President N. Srinivasan's roguish son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and M.S. Dhoni were indeed part of an unholy nexus that did more than their fair share of match fixing in the previous editions of the IPL.........
Confirming or reiterating the contents of his statement, Kumar confirms the fact that he had indeed given the Mudgal committee a signed statement about an exhaustive investigation conducted by him pertaining to the match fixing episodes of IPL season 6 when he was an integral part of the state police's internal security division last year........
"We (my team of of fellow officers and me) were intensively investigating a fake passport racket when we happened/chanced upon some rather startling information pertaining to the match fixing/betting scandal; we then proceeded to interview a bookie code named Kitty who repeatedly mentioned the names of Dhoni and Meiyappan repeatedly during the course of his interrogation"............
"He specifically mentioned or cited the case of a match held in Jaipur on May 12,2013 featuring the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings IPL franchises and said that Meiyappan had bid a huge amount of money against his own team and Dhoni had agreed in principle to ensure that his team would not score more than 140 runs during the course of their innings".............
Chennai Super Kings ended up with a tally of 141/4 after 20 overs despite being 90/1 at the end of 11 overs; both Dhoni as well as Suresh Raina were dismissed for single digit scores during the course of their innings; Rajasthan Royals successfully chased down the Chennai Super Kings total in 17 overs or so and Meiyappan made a killing at the turnstiles", he concludes..........
He also candidly mentioned the fact that he had recommended exhaustive and expeditious investigations into the claims made by the bookie by an independent and impartial investigative agency, but was transferred out of the internal security division a few days after I had thoroughly interrogated this Kitty..........
I for one firmly believe the fact that it would indeed be premature to constitute a lynch squad and put Dhoni on the rack merely on the basis of largely unsubstantiated claims made by an infamous bookie...........
Let me also confirm the fact that I am far from being a fawning Dhoni fan or acolyte but also believe that an accused should be proved guilty beyond all reasonable doubt before being sentenced for the crimes committed by him............
In my humble opinion, the Supreme Court in it's infinite wisdom should constitute yet another investigative committee headed by a jurist of unimpeachable integrity to probe the claims made by this bookie in an expeditious and time bound manner so that the wheat can be separated from the chaff once and for all..........
Will the Supreme Court constitute one such committee or then simply let Dhoni off the hook?????well, your guess is as good as mine in this regard............

INDIAN CRICKET AND IPL AUCTIONS 2014 !!

A bruised, battered and beleaguered team India takes on a rampaging Kiwi team in their own backyard beginning Friday morning (the unearthly hour of 3 am to boot); will team India register the increasingly elusive victory on alien shores and partially salvage it's tattered reputation or then will the Kiwis bury them six feet under and drive the last nail in the Indian team's coffin; well your guess in this regard is as good as mine, though the possible of the former seems a remote possibility and the latter a far more realistic prospect.  Damning allegations being made by bookies ensnaring none other than the current Indian captain in all three formats of the game one Mahender Singh Dhoni in their webs of lies and innuendo, effigies of players being burnt right, left and centre and last but not the least; the son-in-law of the incumbent BCCI president being at the centre of it all; Indian cricket seems to have touched it's lowest nadir and the only way forward is up.

Whoever says India is a poor country largely inhabited by beggars, mendicants, snake charmers and others of their ilk; the doubters and critics simply need to look at the ongoing IPL auctions and the huge sums of money being splurged by the team owners in order to procure what they consider to be a winning combination; who was it that said moolah has the power to change many a thing, a derisive opinion being the very least of them. Despite being held under the twin clouds of betting as well as match fixing scandals, the IPL auctions have well and truly got under way and the marquee Indian players are being sold for unprecedented sums that surely must be making their rivals turn green with envy.

The IPL Delhi Daredevils franchise (the only franchise that did not retain any of their players and begin the current auction with a clean or virgin slate) have bought a certain Kevin Pietersen for the mind boggling sum of Rs. 9 crore as well as Murali Vijay and wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik for the astronomical sum of Rs. 12.5 crore while the King's XI Punjab franchise has once bought back dashing Aussie batsman Shaun Marsh for a bargain basement prize..

ACID ATTACKS CONTINUE UNABATED........

Despite the Supreme Court banning the sale of acid nationwide and reading out the riot act to people/retailers selling the same over the counter, desperadoes and depraved souls continue to procure the same with growing impunity and douse those unfortunate souls who spurn their unwelcome overtures.........
In the latest instance of a demure damsel falling prey to the baser instincts of a demented and demonic soul; a 16 year old minor was doused by her spurned 35 year old suitor when she disdainfully turned down his marriage proposal in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar area on Saturday evening........
The girl who suffered more than 35% burns on her face, neck and legs has since been admitted to the city's super speciality Doctor Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Hospital and is on the road to recovery according to the team of doctors attending on her........
According to the investigating officer, the girl a class XI student of a prominent Lucknow Hospital originally hails from Bihar and has been residing in the Sarojini Nagar area with her maternal grandparents for the past several months, while her attacker 35 year old Riyaz Ahmed who also happens to be her distant relative had returned from the gulf a couple of months back and had been residing in Rae Bareilly ever since.........
According to the complaint filed before the Lucknow Police, the victim is said to have alleged that she was waiting for a tempo at around 5 pm in the Krishna Nagar area where she attends coaching classes in various disciplines when the accused chanced upon the spot and offered her a lift back home in his car........
She soon realised that the accused had other plans up his sleeve when he diverted his car towards the Shaheed Path instead of the customary way home; he subsequently proceeded towards Aurangabad and proceeded to repeat the very same marriage proposals that he had repeatedly made over the course of the preceding few days.........
Sticking to her guns, the victim spurned his proposals after which he took to blustering, abusing her and threatening her with dire consequences if she did not succumb to his overtures...........
To his dismay, the victim was made of sterner stuff and did not accede to his indecent proposal even after he started turning violent and forcing himself upon her; in a bid to save her modesty and ward of his advances, the victim kept pushing him off and started screaming for help as loudly as she could..........
On seeing that his game was up and that his violent conduct was not yielding the desired or anticipated results, he then conjured up a bottle of the dreaded liquid (acid) and liberally sprinkled her with the same while maniacally repeating that he would disfigure and main her for life if she did not do as she was bid.........
Despite experiencing excruciating physical pain and considerable mental anguish, the victim managed to keep her wits about her and jump out of the running car; a kindly soul took note of her sorry plight and summoned both the police authorities as well as an auto driver who then made his way towards the nearest police outpost with the grievously injured victim in tow..........
The investigating officer also revealed the fact that the sequence of events as narrated by the victim conclusively established the fact that the victim had attacked the girl as a part of a well though out and callously conceived strategy; he also added that look out notices have since been posted at both the Delhi and Lucknow airports as the police feared that the absconding accused might make a bid to flee the country sooner rather than later............
It is indeed high time that the enforcing authorities started enforcing the diktats laid down by the Supreme Court in this regard with renewed vigour and all the force at their command as such attacks do not only scar the body and soul of the victims involved but also leave indelible imprints on the moral fabric of a seemingly uncaring and callous country as a whole........
We also need to introspect and carefully examine our reactions towards the sorrowful plight of the victims of such attacks as a significant majority of us show a remarkable propensity towards blaming the victim, casting wholly unfounded and sordid allegations on her character and often repeating the dictum that the victim must have indeed done something to suffer this calamity.........

IT'S HYDERABAD'S TURN NOW..........

Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata or then my very own city Hyderabad; women are far from safe and secure anywhere and agonisingly easy prey for the burgeoning ranks of sexual predators which are increasing at alarming levels.........
A 25 year old woman was brutally sexually assaulted by her 23 year old neighbour in Hyderabad's Amberpet area or locality after 10 pm on Saturday night, the accused Santosh, 23, was later arrested on Sunday after the timely and welcome intervention of a political party's local representative........
Taking her neighbour at face value and reposing her trust in hi, the above mentioned 25 year old housewife requested her neighbour to run some urgent errands for her on Saturday evening.........
Taking undue advantage of the fact that the victim was home alone, Santosh, an employee of a private firm in Amberpet's Tulasi Nagar area made a furtive attempt at forcing himself upon her and making her the target of his forced sexual advances..........
To his dismay, the victim proved to be of sterner stuff, she started screaming at the top of her lungs and soon managed to garner a crowd of locals, neighbours and well wishers who not only nabbed Santosh but also roughed him up..........
A local representative of a leading political party was also apprised of these developments and he not only led the victim towards the local police station a little after 11 pm on Saturday night, but also ensured that the police authorities had little or no choice other than registering cases against Santosh under Section 354 (making an attempt to sexually assault or outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code..........
Santosh was subsequently arrested from a friends' house in the same area on Sunday morning thanks to the pressure exerted by the political functionary, but also produced before a judicial magistrate who duly remanded him to judicial custody.........

RACISM UNABATED..........

As if repeated instances of cold blooded murders, unprovoked assaults and sexual atrocities against students/young people hailing from the North East in the national capital were not enough to compound their miseries and make their existence on planet earth nothing short of a living hell; an instance of four men accosting and robbing a young man hailing from Manipur has come to light and once again highlighted the Delhi police's pronounced inability to curb the spate of crimes against them.......
Like they say every dark cloud does indeed have a silver lining and the silver lining in this instance came in the form of the Delhi police officials apprehending the robbers within four hours of the occurrence of the crime and recovering the stolen valuable from them...........
The above mentioned incident took place in the national capital's sprawling Nizamuddin area when the 20 year old Manipuri youth Vasomo Phong Sore made his way to a general store in order to purchase a mobile recharge cars after having dropped his sister at a nearby church late on Sunday evening..........
According to Delhi Police officials/sources four men since identified as Nadeem, Safiq, Alladdin and Wasim rudely stopped the above mentioned youth who was astride his motorcycle near the famous Nizamuddin Dargah, assaulted him snatched away his mobile phone and about 500 Rs. in cash and made away from the spot in great haste........
On receiving a written complaint from the victim, the SHO of the Nizamuddin police station immediately proceeded toi form a team that nabbed the four offenders within a short span of four hours thanks to the exhaustive descriptions provided by Sore and not only managed to retrieve the valuables stolen from him but quiet a few other articles belonging to other victim's of this marauding gang in the wee hours of Monday morning........
As I said or mentioned earlier this was one incident involving young people or persons from the north east that had a happy ending but a spate or epidemic of such incidents involving persons hailing from the north eastern part of our motherland have repeatedly exposed our national capital's racist underbelly and shed light on the Delhi police's pronounced inability to make these people feel safe, secure and welcome in the national capital.........
Unfortunately, the above mentioned problem is not a law and order one and has deeper and far reaching social and political ramifications as all of us; politicians and the common man need to do more than our bit towards ushering in a spirit of bonhomie and fellow feeling towards this long abused and maligned diaspora; let's all arise above racism and sectarianism and show the world that our Hindustan is definitely "SAARE JAHAAN SE ACHCHA" once and for all...........

EFFICACIOUS JUSTICE: KHAP PANCHAYAT STYLE..........

For all those apologists, bleeding hearts and self styled human rights activists who espouse the cause of khap panchayats and justify the existence and continuance of these self styled kangaroo courts; here's an instance of the miscarriage of justice and medieval barbarism that will not only make you cringe but also re-examine your continued support to them.........
A 22 year old man hailing from Rajasthan's Nagaur district was abducted and taken to a Haryana village against his will; he was then subjected to the vilest abuse, inhuman forms of subjugation, tortured and brutally beaten up at the behest of the village's khap panchayat which feels that it is above the law and hence unanswerable to anybody.........
The 22 year old youth/young man was abducted by a gaggle of men who owed him enormous sums of money, these man then led him to the Odhan Village in Sirsa district of Haryana state where he was caged like a wild animal, beaten, starved, tortured, humiliated, made to eat his own excreta and drink his own urine and last but not the least sodomised on multiple occasions..........
His sordid, pitiable and inhuman ordeal only came to an end when his long suffering family members traced his whereabouts, rescued him from the clutches of his tormentors/captors and finally lodged a complaint against these devil reincarnates with the local police..........
Four of the twenty odd accused identified as Shankar, Arjun, Dilip and Chhotu Nath were arrested by the local police authorities after a local court intervened on behalf of the long suffering victim and ordered their immediate arrest and incarceration.........
As is their wont, the local police is siding with the khap panchayat and tormentors of the victim by giving an entirely different and highly distorted version of events: saying that the allegations made by the victim and his family members could not be corroborated and is not supported by any witnesses hailing from the village in question........
According to sub-inspector Badri Lal, the investigating officer, the victim was not abducted from Rajasthan but only brought back from there by the men hailing from Odhan village as he had committed the supposedly heinous and unpardonable crime of having eloped with a woman hailing from the very same village, a claim vehemently contested by the victim and his family members who in turn brand the cop as "highly corrupt and immoral" and nothing more than a paid agent of the khap panchayat........
Vijendra Singh, the victim's lawyer however outrightly rubbishes and dismisses these absurd claims and says that the fact of the matter is that the 22 year old man gave Rs. 3 lakh to two men hailing from Odhan village in October last as part of a deal made to net him an ideal life partner hailing from the village.........
"Instead of making good their time bound promise, the two men made away with the above mentioned sum of money", Singh goes on to add........
The two men (Naths) failed to honour their commitment and the youth began clamouring for the immediate return of the sum paid to them, after due diligence and relentless pursuance, the Naths relented sometime in the middle of December or so and condescended to show him a nubile young woman who they claimed was his future life partner........
Satisfied that his long cherished dream of getting married to the young lady of settling down with the lady of his dreams was nothing more than a mere formality, the youth made his way back to his abode in Rajasthan but never ever made it there as he was abducted midway and subjected to indescribable tortures for the better part of three odd months, the now fuming lawyer concludes.........
Alleging that the police who are hand in glove with the accused have conveniently preferred to look the other way and bury the statements of more than a dozen eye witnesses residing in Odhan Village, Vijendra Singh declares that medical tests carried out on the victim by three different medical facilities have conclusively established the occurrence of sodomy and torture.........
" I will not only prove my case, but also ensure that my client's captors are given the maximum punishment applicable under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Khap panchayats have been deemed to be ultra vires of the constitution by the Supreme Court and hence their diktats have no legal standing whatsoever", he signs off.........
I for one strongly believe that vote bank politics which are the primary reasons for the existence and continuance of these self styled kangaroo courts should be put on the back burner and buried six feet under for eternity, nothing on planet earth is more cherished and desired than basic human dignity and any organisation that compromises or then makes a mockery of the same should be incarcerated for good in the darkest dungeons of history where they rightfully belong..........

SEEMINGLY ELUSIVE JOB.........

The current government has not only left the Indian economy in a shambles but also done irrepairable damage to the job market (creation of new government jobs) across the public sector and given credence to the oft repeated dictum about one out of every three graduates twiddling their thumbs at home as employment opportunities are scarce, few and in far between........
Take the recent tragicomic situation of 40 post graduates making a beeline towards the secretariat in Chandigarh to apply for the much coveted job of a peon within the echelons or then should I say corridoors of power within the Punjab government.........
These much desired jobs would earn the selected candidates the "princely" sum of Rs. 6,200/- per month and what takes the cake is the fact that the Punjab government received more than 16,000 applications for the 21 odd post that needed to be filled up in the immediate future.........
Satish, a resident of Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district was one amongst the 16.000 plus applicants who turned up to be interviewed for the post of peon at the district courts located within sector 43 of the Punjab capital; Satish is a MBA and has been trying his luck in the job market for almost a year now.........
He certainly found himself in august company as Vijay a resident of Chandigarh's sector 33 also turned up to be interviewed for the same job on Thursday; Vijay is a B.Com degree holder and has been trying his fortune at the employment turnstiles for well over 20 months.........
One can attribute the craze for this humble governmental post to the unceasing quest for permanence and penchant for a government job that guarantees you a tenure of 30 odd years, but the irrefutable fact that many a BEd, BCA, B.Com, B.A., M.A. and MCA degree holders turned up for the interview indeed does not hold out much hope for a bright and rosy future.........
Incorrigible optimists might well celebrate the fact that the "dignity of labour" is the winner in a scenario that expects a selected candidate to have passed his class VIII exams with a modicum of comfort and have more than an acquaintance with both spoken as well as written Hindi and Punjabi.........
A smattering of English or then the inherent ability to make yourself understood in the queen's language might well prove to be the icing on the proverbial cake, but a chequered canvas where graduates who should be imparting computer skills to beginners and candidates who should be teaching others carting around tattered government files and serving endless cups of chai to their sarkari bosses not only raises eyebrows but is more than a definite cause for concern.........
As a BSc (IT) graduate and long time resident of Dadumajra candidly remarked, "look at the brighter side, it is a government job that guarantees you a sense of permanence and ensures that you take home your salary cheque on the last working day of every month; and most importantly it certainly beats the state of twiddling your thumbs and eternally hoping that you will be able to land a seemingly elusive job commensurate with your educational qualifications".........
So do not be startled or raise your eyebrows if you find yourself being served a cup of chai by a person in a peon's uniform who is better mannered and far more comfortable and fluent with the queen's lingo the next time you frequent the dark and dingy passages of the district courts in Chandigarh..........
As for the fortunes of the next union government that takes over from the present lot in May 2014, the less said the better; they will not only have to create job opportunities by the tonne but also ensure that the skill set of a MBA, BCA or then any other graduate who has qualified on his/her own steam after having duly competed against lakhs of others like him/her is not criminally wasted in discharging a peon's assigned duties.......

Jammu and Kashmir's health minister finds himself on the wrong side of a gun barrel after a subordinate posted as a block medical officer of Srinagar levelled allegations of molestation and improper conduct against him.........
The doughty woman doctor in question who supposedly is a close relative of a prominent separatist leader levelled charges of uttering sexual laden profanities, making crude/offensive sexual gestures/innuendos and making unsavoury advances that amounted to molestation and outraging her modesty against Shabbir Ahmed Khan a Congress Minister in the Omar Abdullah led coalition government in the presence of several high ranking police officials..............
According to the victim, the amorous minister summoned her to his personal chamber in Srinagar on the pretext of seeking minute details about the announcements pertaining to the state's health sector made by the union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad during his recent Kashmir sojourn..........

According to unconfirmed reports appearing in local newspapers and other sections of the media, the arrest of the marauding minister was imminent as the state police have issued non-bailable warrants against him..........
Incidentally, Shabbir Ahmed Khan is the third Congress minister to have fallen foul with the long arm of the law ever since the Congress-National Conference coalition government took the reigns of government into their "tainted" hands in 2009..........
First it was noted journalist Tarun Tejpal, retired Supreme Court Judge A.K. Ganguly followed in his footsteps and now a Congress minister, one wonders whether these notables have not heard of the existence of the supposedly draconian and stringent "Nirbhaya" law or then their libido simply prevailed over their better senses..........

Now here's a judgement that indeed boggles the mind and provides your infinite grey matter with immense food for thought, what with the Supreme Court saying that nude and semi clad pictures are okay and pass muster as long as they do not pander to your "basic instincts" and arouse "unholy" desires.............
A graphic or rather titillating picture of either a nude or then semi clad woman cannot be termed as offensive or obscene as long as it does not have either the propensity or ability to arouse sexual passions in both your mind as well as nether regions, the learned judges of the Supreme Court have ruled in a recent judgement intended to uphold the widely abused right to freedom of speech and expression........
Quashing a two decade old case filed against the editors of the Telegraph and now defunct Sports World magazines, a two judge bench comprising of justices K.S. Radhakrishnan and A.K. Sikri opined that "a picture could only be termed offensive or derogatory if it is either suggestive of (depraved) mind and exclusively designed to arouse sexual passions or unbidden desires".............
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the then editors of the two above mentioned publications under the Indecent Representation of Women's Act after the two publications prominently featured nude photographs of tennis legend Boris Becker and his then love interest actress Barbara Feltus.............
Referring to the magazines that also carried Boris Becker's candid and heartfelt article about racial discrimination in his native Germany based on the colour or tone of one's skin, the learned judges remarked that "the photograph intended to convey an unequivocal and far reaching message about the aimlessness and futility of differentiating between two people on the basis of their skin's pigmentation and was certainly not intended to titillate or pander to one's sexual fantasies".............
They also went on to add that the picture also conveyed the message that "skin colour is a triviality in matters of the heart and love prevails above all forms of discriminations and racial profiling"............
One only hopes and prays that our wise and learned citizens who derive sadistic pleasure out of mouthing racial slurs and barbs at the drop of a hat will indeed take a leaf out of the learned judge's book and realise the irrefutable fact that hairstyles and the size and shape of one's eyes are mere trivialities and certainly not cause enough to snuff out a young man's life in it's prime..............

KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR.........

Acting like a knight in shining armour and coming to the aid of a woman in acute distress is certainly not without it's pitfalls and harassment at the hands of over zealous men in khakhi as this Noida resident realised much to his dismay and consternation.........
A call centre employee was allegedly abused, intimidated and finally molested by three men inside a Maruti Swift car right outside her office in Noida's sector 135 in the wee hours of Thursday.........
This macabre incident occurred when the said employee stepped outside her office with a couple of female colleagues in tow at around 2 am for a quick bite and that much desired cuppa of chai.........
In her statement made before the Noida police alleged that the three men sitting inside the above mentioned car started spewing venom and the filthiest of abuses the very minute they saw her and her female friends, they subsequently made a furtive attempt to drag me into the car but soon gave up and fled away from the spot in undue haste as soon as I raised a hue and cry by screaming at the top of my voice.........
The screaming and ranting by their supposed victim deterred the rogues inside in the car only momentarily; they happened upon the very same spot after about ten minutes or so and made yet another foolhardy and equally fruitless attempt to grab the woman and pull her into their car.........
Their second attempt however came to naught as the employees and other menfolk inside the refreshment stall rushed outside on hearing the victim's screams, vandalised the car and also roughed up one of the occupants somewhat before the occupants of the car sped away from the spot that had abruptly become too hot for comfort.........
One can put money down every time and wager a bet on the fact that the local police personnel will always favour the so called high and mighty in all such cases and register fraudulent and patently false cases against the perennially abused lower middle classes in an effort to assuage their higher ups and give one the impression that they are indeed hard at work.........
Lo and Behold!!!! the sector 135 police personnel remained true to form and registered cases against one of the employees of the refreshment centre for vandalising the car and disturbing the peace and compounded their insanity and inhumanity by detaining the very same person in the local police station for a few hours.........
They only relented and released the knight in shining armour Shekhar Chauhan after the alleged victim rushed to the local police station after being intimated about the startling developments on this front by the youth's uncle and refreshment stall owner Rishipal Chauhan........
" I reported for work at around 11:30 am as usual but was startled out of my wits when I was informed that Shekhar had been apprehended by the local cops and incarcerated in the lock up on trumped up charges of vandalism and causing damage to my assailants car".........
" The station in charge refused to accept my plea and register a complaint against the three men who attacked me and I had to literally run from pillar to post to get a FIR/complaint registered against my three wannabe rapists; my efforts in this direction only bore fruit after the Senior Superintendent of Police heard me out patiently and duly instructed the area police station personnel to register a FIR against the three men and immediately release Shekhar without any further ado", the flabbergasted woman concluded ...........
And people still continue to wonder why many well meaning folks like moi continue to clamour for the long delayed police reforms and cry ourselves hoarse about the immediate need to professionalise the police force and make it accountable to the common man for it's actions, quirks, high handedness, eccentricities and idiosyncracies..........

KEVIN PIETERSEN"S SWAN SONG?????

Is it the end of the road for maverick, dashing and somewhat eccentric South African Born English batsman Kevin Pietersen?????? well the answer might well be in the affirmative if media reports emanating from old blighty are any yardstick to go by........
According to a plethora of media reports a clandestine meeting was supposedly held between the coach of England's ODI team Ashley Giles, incumbent captain Alastair Cook and the English Cricket Board's Managing Director and former England stumper Paul Downton.........
Speculation has it that the three above mentioned notables were of the unanimous opinion that the infamous Mr. Pietersen was indeed a disruptive element who constantly vitiated a congenial dressing room atmosphere and also that he was proving to be hurdle in achieving unity and solidarity amongst the remaining team members.........
One may do well to recall the fact that the English team was indeed a divided house all throughout the traumatic and turbulent recent tour down under, where the English lions were comprehensively thrashed by a 12-1 margin by a marauding and rampaging Aussie team in all three forms of the game.........
The disastrous, ill fated and ill tempered tour saw the premature retirement of arguably the best off spinner in the business Graeme Swann from all three forms of the game citing irreconcilable differences with his team mates; abrupt return of the stodgy Jonathan Trott due to an alleged stress related illness........
Mysterious side lining or overlooking of left arm tweaker Madhusudan Singh (Monty) Panesar in favour of a rookie who was flown in on short notice and last but not the least the fall from grace of long time stumper Matt Prior.........
In fact, former English medium pacers turned journalist Angus Fraser and former English skipper turned commentator Michael Atherton had let the cat out of the bag and said that the English Cricket Board is all set to go after KP, Monty, Prior, Swann, Trott and last but not the least team director Andy Flower after the due completion of a horrendous tour down under........
Well, whatever may be the reason, the irrefutable fact is that Kevin Pietersen does not find himself on the England team sheet on the whistle stop tour of the Caribbean Isles in February or Twenty20 World Cup slated to be held in Bangladesh in March........

FIT CASE FOR THE DEATH PENALTY??????

To marauding rapists, the age, bodily shape, size and state of the victim seems nothing more than just a trivial matter to gloss over as the brutal rape of a class III student residing in the northern part of the national capital vicariously highlights once again........
In what must certainly be seen as a blot or then should I say vicious blow on the face of humanity a nine year old girl is battling for her life after being brutally sexually assaulted and battered by a 25 year old sexual predator on Sunday evening.........
The grievously injured victim a class III student of the local government school in the Bara Hindu Rao area of North Delhi was amusing herself in the company of two other girl's of her own age in the vicinity of her humble abode when the three of them were surreptitiously approached by the accused who has since been identified as one Gopi Nisha Malha........
According to the girl's distraught father, "the three dimunitive, gullible and naive girl's were playing on the road opposite their houses a little after 6:30 pm on the fateful Sunday evening when the satanic Malha approached them and tried to entice them away from the spot on the pretext of showing them something unique or something that they hadn't chanced upon earlier"..........
While, the two other little girls steadfastly refused to succumb to this enticement, the victim overcome by curiosity readily agreed to accompany him to a secluded and deserted spot in the very same locality, only to find herself being gagged, bound, battered, raped and sodomised by this devil reincarnate who took vicarious pleasure in torturing and brutalising his helpless victim.......
Hearing her piteous cries for help and repeated entreaties for mercy, the two girl friends of the victim made a beeline towards the victim's house and narrated the sordid incident to her disbelieving mother........
Showing remarkable presence of mind the mother of the victim made her way to the local police station in the company of the two girls registered a complaint against Malha and also provided the area police with a graphic description of his physical appearance.........
She then began a furtive search for her missing/abducted daughter and chanced upon both her daughter and her tormentor in the Nawabganj area of the national capital a little over two hours later........
On seeing that the avenging mother of the little girl was on the warpath and that his fun and games with the little one were over and done with; Malha cruelly pushed the grievously injured little girl to the ground with beastly force and made good his escape from the hotspot.........
Gathering her howling daughter in her arms, the now distraught and bewildered mother caught an auto and rushed her copiously bleeding daughter to the local Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where she was immediately admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU).........
Given the life threatening nature of her numerous injuries, the doctors in the hospital performed a major surgery on the victim on Monday and also said that she will need to undergo two more such surgeries if the doctors are to stabilise her condition; her condition is slated to be highly critical and she is under round the clock supervision of a team of specialists.........
In what must come as solace from heaven, the rapist Malha was arrested by the police from a friend's abode in the wee hours of Tuesday morning from a friend's abode thanks to the graphic descriptions of his physical appearance provided by the two girl friends and the victim's mother........
Cases have been booked under sections 363 (kidnapping and abduction), 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sexual offences) of the Indian Penal Code against Malha and he has also been booked under sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POSCO Act) at the Bara Hindu Rao Police station.........
Malha was duly produced before a magistrate on Tuesday afternoon and has been duly remanded to judicial custody by the legal functionary.......
Fit and just case for the death penalty methinks, what do you have to say about the same???????

Iconic leggie (leg spinner) Shane Warne's tweet pertaining to his conditional acceptance of the much coveted Team Director' s post has certainly set the virtual world atwitter and how..........
Laconically responding to the legions of tweets posted by concerned Englishmen imploring him to accept the much coveted Team Director's post: Warne said that he was certainly not averse to accepting the challenge if the English Cricket Board approached him... .....
But, he also added that he would only do the same after putting much thought into his decision and not make any decision about accepting the post or otherwise based on emotion or in undue haste..........
One may do well to recall the fact that both the English Cricket Board as well as the legions of followers of the English Lions have not exactly been averse to foreigners occupying the highest post in the nation's cricketing hierarchy..............
Outgoing team director Andy Flower had been in charge of the team since 2009 and present Indian coach Duncan Fletcher had also helmed the English team for a period bordering eight years or so............
