Will The Yadav clan ensure that the family of this dowry victim receives the much sought after justice and retribution or then will they continue to turn a blind eye to the complete and utter breakdown of the law and order machinery in their home borough as they have done for the last four and a half years........
A fateful and ,macabre Tuesday saw 40 year old Kanpur resident Sunita breathing her last after she was willfully and demonically set on fire by her absconding/fugitive husband Ram Pratap and in-laws as she had failed to give them a heir or then bear any offspring even after seventeen odd years of holy (????) matrimony.......
Ram Balak Singh Tomar (Sunita's inconsolable elder brother) could not believe his ears when he received a telephone call from a person who chose not to reveal his identity at around 8:30 pm or so on the deathly Tuesday late evening informing him that his beloved younger sister had abruptly and heinously joined the ranks of the dear departed........
An alarmed and distraught Ram Balak immediately made a beeline towards his sister's marital home in the city's Bharu Village (Bidhnoo Area) with a few family members in tow where he was confronted with the inhuman sight of his sister's partly charred body lying on the floor in an unceremonious heap........
Hoping against hope he rushed his younger sibling's mortal remains to the nearest government run medical facility where he was duly informed that the victim had breathed her last at least three or so hours before she was brought to the said hospital.......
Left with no other recourse Singh informed the police sleuths manning the precincts of the nearest police station about the gruesome developments and a team/posse of men in khakhi reached the hospital at around 1 am or so in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and duly proceeded to record a crestfallen Singh's statement........
In his rambling and sometimes incoherent narration Ram Balak named his brother-in-law Ram Pratap; his mother; younger sister and her husband as being the prime suspects in his beloved sister's untimely and untoward demise as the four of them were constantly barracking and haranguing Sunita for her pronounced inability to bestow them with the much desired male heir who would ensure the longevity of their lineage and family name........
Berating his fate and misfortune; Singh bemoaned the irrefutable fact that he had sent his long suffering and abused sister back against her will and consent on the three odd occasions where she mustered up the conviction and gumption to walk out of her marital hell and seek the confines of her familiar and cherished family home.........
As things stand at the present moment; a case of murder and destruction of evidence has been booked against the four fugitives/accused and all neighbouring police stations in the adjoining cities/districts have been requested to be on the lookout for the desperadoes and take them into custody as soon as they are spotted....... One more hapless and seemingly defenceless woman bites the dust as this obsession with male progeny seems to be getting the better of most people's sanity and sense of reasoning more often than not.......
