Now here is one gentleman any cricket team worth it's salt would love having as it's full time coach; mentor; motivator; strategist so on and so forth.........
Dapper; dashing; suave and sophisticated former Australian captain and wicket keeper batsman who is currently in India discharging one of his many roles as Australia's education ambassador to mother India candidly admitted that he was indeed more than open to accepting a suitable role if any IPL franchise condescended to offer him one.......
"Donning the mantle of a full time coach is out of the question as it would occupy too much off my time; involve months of travel and most importantly prolonged periods of absence and estrangement from my growing family which is neither something I envisage or look forward too".........
"I played my last IPL match as King's XI Punjab skipper way back in 2013 and am now more than ready to essay the role of team mentor; talent spotter; master strategist; cricketing manager; coach or then any other role that the King's XI ownership or any other IPL franchise can conjure up for me as I would only have to make a three month commitment to the concerned franchise and I am sure that I can spare that amount of time every year if required".........
"A man of many talents Gilchrist somewhat bashfully remarked that he was indeed enjoying his newly anointed avatar as Australia's Education Ambassador to India; occasional motivational speaker as well as leading one of the team's in the recently concluded World Master's Cricket Series or tournament which was more than successfully hosted by three UAE nations"........
I for one ardently look forward to the moment when one would see this indomitable cricketing legend occupying an exalted and much coveted chair within an IPL team's dugout and imparting pearls or then nuggets of cricketing wisdom painstakingly and arduously acquired by him over the two decades or so spent by him on various cricketing arenas spread across planet earth.........
