A case of sour grapes or justified angst??? well I leave you to draw your own informed and educated conclusions.......
Senior West Indian cricketers Chris Gayle; Darren Sammy and last but not the least multi faceted and talented have unequivocally and stridently slammed the West Indian selectors as well as the other powers that be within the echelons of the very same cricket board following their shocking exclusion from the squad selected to represent the island nation in a forthcoming tri-series......
Taking to twitter to express their deep rooted consternation/ embittered bitterness and justifiable anger; the afore mentioned trio wondered how they were good enough to be an integral and pivotal part of the world beating T 20 team but were simply not good enough to represent their country in the 50 over format despite their sterling exploits in the T 20 World Cup that was held in India just a little over a couple of months back.......
They also wondered how Messrs Kieron Pollard who seemed to have made a miraculous recovery from a career threatening knee injury just before the onset of the Indian Premier League T 20 championships and deliberately and wantonly skipped the domestic 20 and 50 over championships since 2014 as well as Sunil Narine who had been out of cricket for a period extending over eight months or so after being reported for a suspect bowling action for the umpteenth time made their way back into the team........
Dwayne Bravo who was at his acidic/acerbic and seemingly wittiest best certainly hit the nail on the head with his comment about the duo being consummate magicians and wizards to have made a miraculous and jaw dropping re-entry into the rank and file of the mercurial West Indian squad despite comments appearing in the local media made by the very same selectors about their not being good enough to make the cut as recently as three or so weeks ago........
Without mincing their words or pulling their punches the trio of beleaguered and bewildered cricketers expressed their sense of completely justified outrage over the reported injustice and ignominy meted out to them and put forth their case for inclusion in the very same squad if Pollard and Narine could make the cut despite being out of the game for lengthy intervals and doing precious little of note in the ongoing IPL season 9 for their respective franchises.......
Do these gentlemen have a valid case or then are they crying themselves hoarse without rhyme or reason; well I will let you be the arbiters and take the final call on this one.......
