RECRUITMENT DRIVE WITHIN TIHAR JAIL..........

Corporate India surely seems hell bent upon showing that it's social conscience is alive and kicking what with it hiring 66 Tihar jail inmates who are due to be released after having completed their due sentences in the very near future........
Yes you did indeed see and read it right the first time around, private concerns or companies did more than show a remarkable penchant or propensity to hire 66 "reformed" Tihar inmates during the course of a recruitment drive within the jail premises on Tuesday........
Vedanta Group of Companies and IDIEM India took the lead by hiring the highest number of inmates while the Taj Mahal Group occupied the much coveted pole position by offering the highest pay packet to Raju Parasnath an inmate who spent a little over eight years in Tihar and also duly completed his Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the ultra prestigious IGNOU during his jail stint..........
Raju Parasnath did both himself as well as the benevolent and visionary jail authorities immense credit by netting the prize position of Assistant Business Development Manager within the Taj Mahal Group and beginning his career with a monthly salary of Rs. 35,000/-.........
All 66 inmates who have been selected by corporate India will be duly completing their stipulated sentences within the next three months or so; 31 companies in all more than willingly participated in this unique recruitment drive and all the 66 inmates thus recruited landed jobs based on their educational backgrounds and skill sets; but what dampened the proceedings was the fact that not a single female inmate of India's premier prison managed to net a job for herself despite all the euphoria and enthusiasm.........
Director General Prisons Vimla Mehra not only extended her heartiest congratulations to all the successful inmates but also took the opportunity to pat herself on her own back by saying that the congenial and homely atmosphere provided by the jail authorities not only succeeded in reforming these criminals but also made them responsible and contributing citizens.........
She also patiently lent an ear to the grievances and complaints aired by these inmates and a few more and reassured them by holding out the hosanna of ushering in many more required and necessary reforms in time to come.........
On their part, the head honchos of these socially responsible corporates held out the promise that such recruitment drives would henceforth become a salient feature in their annual hiring calendars, we believe that all such people more than deserve a second chance and we will go the proverbial extra ,mile in an effort to give them that much desired chance, one of them remarked...........
Welcome and long overdue development, what say??????
