MANIPURI STUDENT ASSAULTED BY BAND OF ROBBERS IN NATIONAL CAPITAL......

As if the repeated and senseless assaults on Indian citizens hailing from the North Eastern parts of this glorious country by citizens or then residents of the national capital were not enough of a head ache; one has now begun to come across incidents of the city's robbers and marauders assaulting teenagers from the North East........
A 19 year old male student hailing from the North Eastern State of Manipur was brutally and viciously assaulted by a band of robbers in the national capital's Mukherjee Nagar area late on Sunday night........
According to Delhi Police Officials investigating the case, Chan Pamai (the 19 year old student of a private institute) was walking towards his friend's humble abode in the adjoining Gandhi Nagar area at around 10:30 pm or so on the fateful Sunday night, when out of the blue, he was accosted by a group of four men who unceremoniously asked him to hand over all his belongings if he valued his life........
In the complaint filed by him before the area police Pamai alleged that he initially tried to flee the spot as he suspected that his attackers were unarmed, but lo and behold, he soon came crashing down to mother earth when he was clouted a resounding blow on the back of his head by one of his assailants........
Though fading in and out of consciousness, Chan somehow managed to put up a resolute fight and hang on to his belongings (cell phone, gold chain and wallet) before his attackers took to their heels on hearing the sound of a fast approaching motorcycle........
Contrary to the prevalent trend in the national capital, the biker one Puneet stopped his motorcycle on noticing a dishevelled and injured Chan Pamai and graciously led or then accompanied him to his friend's house from where a telephonic complaint was lodged by Chan against his assailants on the police help line........
Acting on the complaint, the area police have begun the process of rounding up the known anti-social and criminal elements from this and other adjoining areas and expressed confidence about holding an identification parade within the next 2-3 days so that the 19 year old could conclusively identify his tormentors........
And so the eternally growing list or the should I say instances of assault on Indian citizens hailing from the north eastern parts of the country continue unabated........
