The initial trends that are emerging on counting day certainly seem to be pointing towards a 2/3rds majority for the first time in it's living history (ever since it's Jan Sangh days in the 1950's) and the Indian National Congress is headed for a complete rout and the UPA may well struggle to reach the 100 mark if the present trends hold.......
What is even more encouraging for die hard supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party like yours truly is the fact that our party which is just about a year and a half old, funded solely by contributions made by the Aam Aadmi and supportive NRI's, has no grass root level party structure to speak off but solely depends on the expertise of it's over enthusiastic volunteers to reach out to the voter and disseminate the message of this party is doing well in Punjab where it is leading in 4 parliamentary constituencies and also hanging out to the South West Delhi constituency where Rakhi Birla is ruling the roost as of now........
Sceptics and doubting Thomases might well say that we are counting our chickens before they hatch and making too much ado about the prevalent trends after two odd rounds of counting and that there is many a slip before the cup and the lip, yes what they are saying in principle is right but one myth that the emerging trends have dispelled forever is that there is something like a traditional stronghold and that the voters in these seats are beholden to their so called "maibaaps" for generations.........
Modi has emerged as the undisputed leader of this glorious country and therefore deserves all the encomiums being showered on him and all the lotuses being showered on him, but one only hopes that better sense prevails and he sticks to the development agenda that he espoused for most of his 450 odd electoral rallies and not the communal, casteist and divisive agenda that dominated his speeches during his last few rallies in Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar.........
36 ministers of the incumbent Manmohan Singh government including stalwarts like Kamal Nath, Kapil Sibal, Salman Khurshid, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and such others and one only hopes that the Gandhi dynasty will get off their high horses at long last and read the writing on the wall; hosannas and diatribes about Modi being the biggest blot on India' fair face simply failed to strike a chord with the electorate and put paid to the hopes and aspirations to the candidates of the most sycophantic party on the block...........
In fact, so overwhelming is the BJP sweep that the NDA alliance has already crossed the magical 272 figure as of 10:04 am this morning and may well cross the 290 mark if the present trends emerging from the length and breadth of the country remain steadfast; once again kudos to Modi and his band of supporters for notching up the most creditworthy figures since 1984 and ushering in the heady days of a stable, strong, uncompromising and wrangle free government for the next five years......
As for the Aam Aadmi party, time for some serious introspections and soul searching, Punjab is the only shining beacon on an otherwise dark, desultory and gloomy horizon; in hindsight we may well have made a cardinal mistake by surrendering the reins of power in Delhi, but then we are infants who are taking our first baby steps on the political firmament so cut us some slack and we promise that we will certainly emerge as a force to reckon with within the next 5 years or so.........
And most of all, heartiest congratulations to those fellow Indians who voted for Modi in resounding numbers and sang paeans in his glory, hope the Modi government you ushered in fulfils all your hopes, aspirations and desires and most importantly does Mother India proud......... ,
