There's something about Modi that draws the ire of many an Indian and leaves him fuming at the very mention of the man's name; while there is no denying the fact that Modi does indeed have his fair share of acolytes, sycophants and chamchas, his detractors surely outnumber the same overwhelmingly.......
A Delhi based band is the latest hopper on to the say no to Modi bandwagon, the band which call itself "Ska Vengers" has taken upon itself the onus of educating the voter about Modi's sins of omission and commission through it's songs and other utterances........
"Though the elections in the national capital are over and done with, we are of the opinion that Modi is a polarising factor who will only hopelessly divide an already fractured polity on the basis of caste, creed, religion and sect", the leader of the band as well as bass guitarist remarks.......
While yet another band member has this to say about Modi, "Modi might well fool some of the people or rather a significant majority of people with his so called development agenda and new found love for the minorities, but that is certainly not Modi's true face and we have embarked upon a journey to expose Modi and acquaint people with his dark and sinister side through our songs which are available on you tube and other such media absolutely free of cost", the lead singer of "Ska Vengers" opines........
A modest cafe in the national capital's upmarket Hauz Khas area will be the band's venue for the next five days (beginning Wednesday) and the band which specialises in seamlessly blending "ska" rhythms (a modern and hip hop style of traditional Jamaican music with traditional Indian music) will be crooning their songs that are essentially an ant Modi tirade in their own inimitable style.........
Like Stefan Kaye, the founder and lead singer of the band quips, "we are of the informed opinion that Modi and others of his ilk will prove to be an unmitigated disaster for the country and cause irreparable and considerable harm to the secular fabric and spirit of tolerance that this motherland of ours is renowned for".........
"Music is the language of the soul and a heart that is inextricably linked with the divine and our music is devoted to serving the nation safeguarding and preserving it's secular fibre and humanistic touch and most importantly hopelessly and utterly exposing the hate monger and innocents slayer Modi in his true colours", Kaye signs off..........
