TRAPPED WITHIN AN ARCHETYPAL MUMBAI HIGH RISE.......

Ace director Vikramaditya Motwane is all set to wow world wide audiences/film goers once again and how........
After leaving us gaping ant thirsting for more with his stellar directorial ventures; Udaan and Lootera which more than firmly established Ronit Roy and Ranveer Singh as actors to be reckoned with; Motwane once again left the audience reeling and cheering for more when his latest directorial venture "Trapped" got a twelve odd minute long standing ovation from an entranced and enchanted audience at Mumbai's iconic MAMI Film Festival on the eventful October 30 evening.......
Starring the dapper; suave; sophisticated and oh so mysterious actor par excellence Rajkumar Rao in the eponymous lead role; "Trapped" narrates the harrowing ordeal of a resident of one of Mumbai's innumerable high rise residents whop inadvertently finds himself trapped within the seemingly claustrophobic confines of an archetypal Mumbai "high rise" apartment.......
A spine chilling and utterly plausible survival-drama-thriller that unfolds at literally break neck speed "Trapped" masterfully announces the grand entry of Hindi filmdom into a genre that was hitherto uncharted and unexplored by the legions of directors and film makers who throng it's hallowed corridors.......
Letting the cat out of the bag; Motwane quips that he was utterly fascinated by the concept of exploring the rather startling and stark phenomenon of an archetypal Mumbaikar being trapped or then inexorably consigned within the four walls that he spends an entire lifetime to either erect or then purchase whatever the case may be........
Made on a seemingly modest budget of around Rs. 12 crore or so "Trapped" was wrapped up within a start to finish 22 day long schedule that saw Rao priming himself for this once of it's kind in a lifetime role with endless cups of black coffee and surviving solely on a "carrot rich" diet throughout the 22 day long shoot so that he could derive the edginess and untold desperation that was integral to the very being of this Mumbaikar who finds himself facing the untoward scenario of his intrinsically priced possession becoming his Waterloo and final resting place........
Here's wishing Messrs rao and Motwane many more such standing ovations and hoping that this one finally ends up garnering the much coveted Oscar in the foreign films category.........
