Misery does indeed pour down in bucketfuls whenever it makes up it's mind about doing so; don;t believe moi, then do take some time out of your ultra busy schedules and ask the Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL franchise) team management about their "misery" related views........
In what must indeed come as a body blow to their already slim chances of doing well in the Champion's League T 20 tournament which is slated to begin on Indian shores from September 17, 2014 onwards KKR"s South African speedster Morne Morkel earlier today announced his withdrawal from the premier tournament owning to a persistent and nagging shoulder injury.........
One may do well to recall the fact that dapper and dashing Australian batsmen Chris Lynn and Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al Hasan had already announced their withdrawal from the KKR squad for the tournament on account of a shoulder operation and failure to obtain a no objection certificate or "NOC' from the parent board for various reasons...........
Morkel's withdrawal from the tournament a week or so before it's inauguration not only robs KKR of it's fast bowling spearhead but severally depletes it's chances of doing well in the tournament as it leaves a considerably less experienced Sunil Narine donning the role of the team';s potent wicket taking option........
This also leaves the KKR team management with the nightmarish experience of having to pick four out of only five overseas players (Sunil; Narine, Jacques Kallis, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Pat Cummins and Andre Russell every single team the side has to take the field during the course of the tournament.........
Injury laden and severely diminished squad or not; here's wishing the men in purple and gold all the very best for the tournament.........
