DOING HER MARTYRED HUSBAND; HERSELF AND THE NATION PROUD........

Now here is a spunky; determined and gutsy woman after my very own heart and soul......
Swati Mahadik; the proud and valiant widow of the gallant martyr Colonel Santosh Mahadik who succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him by a volley of shots let loose from the lethal AK 47's of a group of Pakistan trained terrorists on a deathly and sorrowful typically frosty Kupwara (Kashmir) November morning is all set to follow in her husband's noteworthy footsteps and don the famed khaki uniform......
A suitably proud and resourceful mother of two young children Swati more than successfully cleared the mandated and stipulated SSB (Service Selection Board) examinations on September 4 and is now all set to undergo a rigorous and literally back breaking eleven month long training session at a Chennai based training centre before being posted as a junior officer in the ranks of the Indian Army.......
Ms. Mahadik had expressed her heartfelt desire to follow in her husband's heroic wake and has more than succeeded in her quest to fulfill her late husband's unfinished agenda; mission and fondest dreams........
" All I feel at the present moment is numbness and a sense of profound relief; there is no sense of either elation or euphoria as there is no earthly or then any other reason to celebrate as I have just taken my first tentative steps towards fulfilling my life's mission and objectives and have many more miles left to traverse".........
" I sincerely thank the powers that be within the annals of this unparalleled and unrivaled fighting force for providing me with this god send opportunity and more specifically showing me no undue favours or favouritism other than relaxing the qualifying age norms as stipulated in the Army manual"..........
Thirsting to don the famed khakis at the earliest Swati hopes to join the ranks of the celebrated 41st battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles (41 Rashtriya Rifles) of which her martyred husband was the commanding officer........
Ms. Mahadik has certainly succeeded in her sterling and exemplary effort to raise the bar and set the standard for other widows of army; air force as well as navy martyrs; I for one am waiting to see how many other such similarly inclined widows emulate her and don the uniform of their choosing and ardently hope and pray that the same holds true in your case as well........
