Trust the maverick Kevin Petersen to wear his heart on his sleeve and do more than his bit for the most appropriate and notable charitable causes.......
This lovable and adorable soul who turned 36 very recently and is currently plying his trade in various T 20 leagues inundating the cricketing firmament will be making his solitary appearance for the calendar year 2016 on an English cricket pitch in a charity match slated to be held at the iconic Kia Oval Cricket Ground on September 22........
As stated above Petersen will be gracing the occasion and turning up for the Cricket United XI all stars team that will be pitted against a Surrey All Stars XI that will include current English opener Jason Roy in it's ranks........
Former English skipper Michael Vaughan and gritty middle order or then should I say top order batsman Mark Butcher will coach the two teams who will square off against each other in the charity T 20 fixture whose proceeds will be equally distributed between the Lord's Taverners; Chance To Shine Foundation; PCA Benevolent Fund and last but not the least the KP 24 Foundation........
Tweeting his unbridled enthusiasm at being an integral part of this momentous occasion; KP as he is fondly referred to quipped; "yes it is indeed true that this will be my only appearance on an English cricketing field as I preferred to skip the ongoing English Domestic Season for personal reasons and hence did not sign up for any of the three county sides who were prepared to offer me lucrative contracts".........
"I however cannot miss out on this golden opportunity to turn out and support all the right causes at one of my favourite cricketing venues the Kia Oval which will be overflowing with cricket enthusiasts on the day and I am ardently looking forward to know who my fellow team mates and opponents will be"; KP signed off..........
Here's looking forward to seeing this charming rascal light up the cricketing horizon yet again with his rapier like bat that more often than not sends the opposing team's bowlers scurrying for cover when it is brandished with gay abandon........
