Women or rather actresses associated with/from the Hindi film industry certainly seem to be showing that they are indeed women of substance who will neither brook or then take any nonsense from all and sundry.......
Stormy petrel Richa Chadha; best known for her feisty portrayal as Bholi Punjaban in the 2013-14 hit flick Fukrey stood up for herself and gave her tormentors more than an earful; eyeful and lot's more during the course of one such film gathering in India's financial capital on Christmas day........
According to bystanders; the Tamanchey heroine was letting down her hair and enjoying herself to the hilt with a group of female friends at the said gathering when two seemingly inebriated gents happened upon the group and started passing increasingly lewd and bawdy remarks about Richa's physical attributes and somewhat different sartorial style........
Richa initially chose to ignore the two gent's increasingly intrusive and offensive overtures; but was forced to take matters in her own hand when one of the two gents rudely caught hold of her hand and posed for a few photographs without her permission or acceptance.........
A thoroughly disgusted and incensed Ms. Chadha firstly gave the two men an earful and subsequently caught hold of the collar of the gent who had posed for photographs when he started spewing the choicest expletives that were not only derogatory towards the women gathered there but also questioned their pedigree and parentage..........
Security personnel and the other menfolk at the gathering then caught hold of the two offending gents and led them outside the party's precincts using both force and persuasion while a now somewhat chastened Richa issued a statement urging menfolk to know and understand the considerable/yawning difference between public personalities and private property...........
She further went on to add that it had become increasingly necessary for Indian women to express their contempt and opposition to such unruly; wild and wanton behaviour as a continued failure to do so on part of the country's womenfolk would only serve to embolden such animals and encourage them to cross the limit every single time..........
Here's hoping that many a long suffering Indian woman would take a leaf out of Ms. Richa Chadha's book and make sure that they put such men (if they can deserve to be called that) in their rightful place every single time............
