It may all seem a little absurd and ridiculous at first; but if the same does indeed have even an iota of truth in it; then it is indeed cause for concern.........
A bedraggled; dazed; mystified and somewhat incoherent 21 year old woman lodged a complaint at the national capital's Vasant Kunj (one of the poshest localities in the national capital) late on Tuesday night against her male friend alleging that this so called friend had incarcerated and imprisoned her in a dungeonish house within the very same locality and continually sexually ravaged her during the same period.........
According to the investigating officer; the survivor somehow managed to flee her prison late on Tuesday night as her tormentor and captor had left for Bhopal earlier in the day and somehow managed to wend her way to the area's police station where she proceeded to lodge this complaint against her so called male friend who had imprisoned and sexually abused her for a little over two years by gaining her trust and confidence with the oft repeated promise of marrying her.........
According to a senior police officer; the accused who met the survivor who originally hails from Kerala in a Bhopal based private hospital where he was admitted a little over two years ago had somehow managed to coerce the unsuspecting woman into accompanying him to Delhi by dangling the much coveted marriage related carrot and then proceeded to incarcerate the woman within this house and reduce her life to a living hell for the nest two years and a bit........
A case under sections 376 (rape); 365 (kidnapping or abducting); and 366 (kidnapping; abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code has been duly registered against the wanted gent who is supposedly in Bhopal at the current time and two teams have been despatched to Bhopal to apprehend him and bring him back at the earliest.........
According to the survivor; she had moved to Bhopal after having duly completed a diploma course in auxiliary nursing and mid-wifery and happened upon her captor when he was admitted in the very same private hospital in which she was serving at the time; he soon befriended and taking undue advantage of her naivety and trusting nature managed to convince her into accompanying her to Delhi where he was supposed to be doing a MBA course by dangling the carrot of marriage and a better and far more prosperous future.........
The survivor who is currently undergoing a series of medical examinations and counselling in a government run medical facility claims that she has become wiser and that much warier in hindsight and even gone to the extent of swearing off menfolk for the remainder of her lifespan..........
