YET ANOTHER BUILDING COLLAPSES..........

Residents of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad woke up to the horrifying and heart rending news of one of the city's iconic land marks; the City Light hotel having come down or then collapsed like the proverbial pack of cards......

The City Light hotel located on the city's bustling Rashtrapati is an unremarkable and nondescript two storied structure that has been around for as long as one can care to remember........

It was slated for demolition along with two hundred similar age old structures in the vicinity , but the owners of this iconic institution had approached the high court and obtained a temporary stay order against it's demolition......

For reasons yet to be ascertained and established beyond all reasonable doubt, the hotel seemed to implode on itself and came down with a resounding crash at around 6:30 am this morning (Monday morning) if the renditions and accounts of eyewitnesses to this spectacular collapse are any yardstick or measure to go by.......

Police, fire fighting and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials and aid workers had successfully managed to extricate 11 persons from the rubble according to the latest reports, these people or persons have been rushed to the government managed and run Gandhi hospital and the condition of a few amongst them is slated to be critical.......

Numerous auto drivers, rickshaw pullers and daily wage workers were frequenting the hotel for their daily fix of Irani tea, khajur and biscuits when the structure collapsed upon them without as much as a warning according to eye witness accounts.......

Six bodies have so far been removed or recovered from under the debris or ruins of this hotel and 11 injured people have been rushed to the Gandhi hospital, while a minimum of 20 people are still feared to be trapped under the rubble of the structure.......

Experts from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have been requested to rush to the spot and take charge of rescue and relief operations according to highly placed police sources........

Efforts have also been initiated to apprehend the owner/s of the property and the city police is confident about nabbing or arresting them within the course of the next few hours or then by the end of the day.........

The number of dead or deceased is expected to go up exponentially as scores of people still remain trapped under the rubble and debris........
