According to the Hindi film industry grapevine; Renu Chopra; widow of the recently deceased film maker Ravi Chopra is more than keen to give a new/renewed lease of life to BR films evergreen classic "Waqt" (which was released for the first time in 1965) and reprise the same according to the tastes and needs of today's film going audiences........
One may do well to remember the fact that "Waqt" which was the precursor or then father of the oft repeated "Lost and Found" theme had one of the nation's finest ever actors the late Balraj Sahni; "Jaani" Raaj Kumar and the suave and debonair Shashi Kapoor in pivotal roles and also that the film went on to break all existing box office records and register unprecedented figures at the box office in that golden era...........
Though in it's initial stages of conceptualisation; sources close to the iconoclast banner (BR films and television) have gone ahead and confirmed the fact that Ms. Renu Chopra is more than keen on having the nation's tallest living actor Shri Amitabh Bachchan (in Balraj Sahni's role); Akshay Kumar (in Jaani Raaj Kumar's role) and last but not the least teenage heart throb Varun Dhawan (in Shashi Kapoor's role)........
The same sources also said that initial talks have since been initiated with the trio to confirm their availability and willingness and also that a formal announcement in this regard would be made in the very near future.........
I for one cannot wait to see this evergreen classic getting a renewed lease of life on the silver screen and do hope that the same hold true for the rest of you too.........
