Matters only seem to be getting worse for the women of this so called "progressive and enlightened" country with every passing day or then should I say hour and minute.........
A Punjab based teenaged girl tragically lost her life late on Wednesday night as she and her 38 year old mother jumped off a rapidly moving bus in an effort to save themselves the ignominy and humiliation of being molested and groped by one of the so called helpers manning the bus.,.........
According to an aged woman passenger aboard the same bus; the mother daughter duo had boarded the bus bearing the registration number PB 10C 1813 from a designated stop a few kilometres ahead of Moga and taking advantage of the fact that very few passengers were aboard the bus at the time; the said helper and conductor wasted little time in passing lewd sexual remarks and shamelessly groping the horrified and distraught duo............
Matters however came to a head when the mother daughter duo jumped off the running bus near village Gill on the Moga-Abohar stretch a passing police jeep which happened to spot the profusely bleeding and near comatose duo rushed them to the nearby Baghapurana Civil Hospital where the doctors pronounced the 16 year old teenaged girl dead on arrival..........
To make matters worse for the mother who is battling for her life with near critical head injuries; the said bus in which she and her now deceased apple of her eye were sadistically molested belongs to the Orbit Group (in which Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has a considerable personal stake) and operation "cover up" seems to be well and truly underway if this statement emanating from a senior police functionary is any yardstick or parameter to go by...........
"A police team has been despatched to the said hospital to record the statement of the critically injured woman; and a FIR will be recorded in due course after registering the due facts and claims made by the woman; she has alleged that both she and her daughter were molested in the presence of the other 8-10 passengers who were aboard the bus at the time and we are indeed verifying her claims and sparing no efforts to trace the whereabouts of the driver; conductor and helper of the said bus who are untraceable at the present time"..............
As far as I am concerned; the writing on the wall is there for all to see; the Punjab Police is going to do precious little to bring the culprit/s to book as they happen to be employees of a concern co-owned by none other than his "esteemed highness" the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and his business and other pecuniary interests over ride the sordid fate that has befallen a hapless and destitute mother who has just lost her beloved teenaged daughter and is currently hanging between life and death..........

VILE AND NAUSEATING SEXUAL CRIME.........

As if the earthquake related horrors recounted by every news channel with increasing regularity are not enough of an eye opener and dampener; here comes the heinous news of a young Nepalese woman being barbarically gang raped by two men in a New Delhi locality.........
A 22 year old Nepalese woman was allegedly gang raped by two monsters masquerading as men in a posh flat lying within the precincts of south west Delhi's Dwarka area late on Tuesday evening; the two accused who dabble in real estate in the area were subsequently apprehended by the local police personnel..........
According to the investigating officer; the rape survivor had been involved in a live-in-relationship with one Devendra who is supposedly happily married and a taxi driver by profession; the two accused were well known to the now absconding Devendra and his live-in-partner had gone to the crime scene at his bidding........
Kishore Kumar Jain; 34 and Saurabh Sharma; 30; the two accused in the case were produced before a local court on Wednesday afternoon and the court sent them to Tihar Jail (14 days judicial custody); the two accused are married and have two children each of their own.........
This sinister; macabre and heinous crime came to light at around 11 pm or so on the said Tuesday night when the distraught and somewhat incoherent woman called the police control room (PCR) and reported the heart rending fact that she was gang raped by the two afore mentioned devil reincarnates in a Dwarka based flat.........
Taking due cognisance of the report the police control room personnel immediately despatched a police team to the spot from where the rape survivor had made the telephone call; the police team reached the spot in a few minutes registered the doughty woman's complaint and then transported her to a government run medical facility for treatment and recuperation..........
A case of gang rape was duly registered against the two accused on the basis of the complaint filed by the rape survivor and raids were carried out on their hideouts on Tuesday night based upon the information provided by police informers who were acquainted with the accused and the duo were picked up from one such hideout at around 1:30 am on Wednesday morning........
Medical tests carried out on the victim have conclusively established the occurrence of rape and a friendly NGO has stepped forward to counsel and provide recuperative care to the rape survivor who is now hell bent upon ensuring that the two savages who ravaged and ravished her get the maximum punishment permissible under the ambit of the Indian Penal Code............

KUNAL DESHMUKH IS BACK WHERE HE REALLY BELONGS.........

The entire Hindi film industry breathed a collective sigh of relief and gratitude as up and coming director Kunal Deshmukh (of "Jannat" fame) returned to his humble Mumbai home early on Tuesday morning from the quake devastated/ravaged Nepal........
Kunal who was in Nepal in connection with the exploratory work related to a future shoot (for an upcoming film to be helmed by him) and was inexorably sucked into the vortex of the quake when he literally saw the world collapsingbefore his very own disbelieving eyes.........
Deshmukh somehow managed to wend his way towards a relatively safe and secure haven and spent the next three days there with pitiable amounts of food and water before he managed to board an IAF aircraft late on Monday evening.........
According to sources close to the director; a thoroughly exhausted and spent Deshmukh who is still plagued by the psychosis of "phantom" tremors following him wherever he goes; is resting and recuperating his energies and spirits and should go back to doing what he knows best in about a week or so..........
Kunal Deshmukh was one of the fortunate few who managed to wend their way back towards familiar and welcoming climes after being confronted with a life altering experience; but pray spare a thought for those who have literally lost everything in the killer quake and make an effort to reach out to them............

A potential rape bid was averted in Bhopal late on Sunday night when the sister of the main accused in the case prevailed over the accused's baser instincts and managed to convince him to spare the minor girl he intended to devour and desecrate..........
According to neighbours; the main accused in the case 23 year old Shiv Karan stepped into the house of the 5 year old girl whom he intended to exploit and enticed her away from there on the pretext of getting her the chocolates she coveted.........
As soon as the gullible and believing moppet stepped outside her home and hearth in hid ignoble company; Karan made his way with his intended victim to his very own room abode where he planned to put his sinister and macabre plan into action..........
Cometh the appointed hour; cometh the saviour and Karan's eleder sister who had been alerted by the neighbours who saw him leading the 5 year old into their house gathered outside the potential crime scene in considerable numbers and started knocking on the room of Karan's door.........
A suitably chastened and admonished Karan opened the door to his room on hearing his revered and respected elder sister's voice and she in turn stepped into the room and led the now shocked and bewildered 5 year old girl back to her own home where she proceeded to hand her over to her parents while tendering an unconditional apology on behalf of her errant brother who could not summon up the courage and wherewithal to do the same...........
Matters however did not end with the tendering of the said apology as the 5 year old girl's parents firstly consulted all their family members and other trusted one's before proceeding to file an official police complaint against the accused (Shiv Karan) at a neighbouring police station early on Tuesday morning..........
Investigations launched in the case by the area's police sleuths on receiving the complaint revealed the fact that the accused who is currently in police custody already had a past criminal record and was even booked for his involvement in two such cases in the past..........
A case of attempted rate and wrongful confinement has since been booked against the accused who is the only son of a daily wager and further investigations into the case are on..........

ON PEEPING TOMS; VOYEURS AND THE LIKES OF THEM........

Our very own peeping toms; voyeurs and such other people who get their cheap thrills from watching women in various stages of undress on their laptops and smart phones certainly seem to be coming out of the closet and making their presence felt.........
A couple of weeks after Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani spotted an ubiquitous CCTV camera in the changing room of a Fab India mart outlet in Goa; women visitors who were thronging Kolkata's favourite water park "Aquatica" on Sunday afternoon found a similar device occupying pride of place within the confines of their changing room..........
The group of unflinching and indomitable women who found the CCTV camera soon began raising slogans against the water park's management and causing a fracas that caught both the eye as well as attention of all the people who were present at the water park at the time........
A few locals who raucously contributed their mite to the volley of protests that spontaneously broke out within the premises of the water park then proceeded to wreak havoc within a certain section of the water park forcing the management to summon the local cops who arrived at the location at their own convenience.........
One of the first woman visitors who spotted the camera recording her in a semi dressed state firstly made her way towards the women security guards and enquired about the CCTV camera placed within the closed confines of the women's changing room; startled out of her wits one of the woman security guards on duty at the time sharply reacted by cutting off the power supply to the camera that had become the cause of a full blown confrontation...........
A few other women who also claimed to have noticed the camera but preferred to do precious little about it soon joined the now incensed woman and started raising slogans against the water park's owners and managements which forced the management's hand into summoning a few male bouncers who then proceeded to rough up and push and shove the group of woman protesters around...........
Cops from the local police station who arrived at the spot just as matters were threatening to get out of hand firstly proceeded to control a potentially ugly and hazardous situation and then seized the camera in question; a few laptops as well as other surveillance equipment from the water park for further investigation..........
They also detained about ten employees of the water park for questioning and further interrogation; on it's part; the water parks management touted out the rather hackneyed and seemingly illogical defence about having switched off the power supply to the said CCTV camera long before the women in question spotted the same..........
"We are more than willing to co-operate with the local police sleuths in the investigation as it will give us a fair chance to clear our tarnished name and reputation as well as conclusively establish the fact that we do not indulge in such nefarious as well as debauched activities either by mistake or then with evil intent": a senior official of the water park said.........
I for one am firmly on the slighted woman's side on this one; whose side are you on??????

Despite all his lofty pronouncements and dire predilections Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has been able to do precious little in arresting or curbing the burgeoning crimes being committed with growing impunity and callous disdain against women in his state.........
In the latest reported sinister; macabre; ghoulish and heart rending incident a 13 year old Dalit girl who was gang raped by five people including a minor in Uttar Pradesh's revered and worshipped Mathura town attempted to end her fledgling life by dousing herself with kerosene and setting herself ablaze in the early hours of Friday morning.........
According to the girl's grieving and distraught family members; the girl had stepped outside her humble dwelling to relieve herself when she was dragged away to a secluded and desolate spot by one of the accused who happened to be a frequent visitor to the family's abode........
The other four accused who were already present at the designated spot at the assigned time; firstly brutally beat up and subjugated the struggling girl before taking turns in defiling and desecrating her more than once each.........
Once they had satiated their lust and bestiality the five accused who are still at large made good their escape from the crime scene leaving behind a wrecked; shattered and mutilated fellow human being who somehow or the other managed to wend her way back to her dwelling and haltingly inform her disbelieving family folks about the catastrophe that had befallen her..........
A search party that had been roused up by the girl's father when she failed to reach home after duly relieving herself found the dishevelled and incoherent girl some distance away from her home and led her towards the same where she tearfully narrated the inhuman assault wreaked upon her by the five men who were known to the family..........
After suitably consoling the girl and administering basic first aid; the family went off to sleep only to be abruptly and shockingly woken up by the blood curdling screams of the rape survivor who had successfully managed to set herself ablaze.........
Putting their own lives at risk; the menfolk from the family firstly doused the flames that threatened to engulf the girl in their midst and then rushed her to a corporate hospital in Mathura where the doctors pronounced her condition to be critical as she had suffered more than 60% burns in her misplaced effort to prematurely end her fledgling life..........
The very same doctors also advised the family to shift her to a government run hospital in the national capital so that she could receive the much needed specialised care in the sprawling hospital's burns ward; the girl was shifted to New Delhi late on Friday afternoon and the local cops who were summoned to the spot by the hospital authorities duly got her "dying declaration" recorded by a judicial magistrate as the team of doctors attending on her rated her chances of survival as exceedingly slim........
One only hopes and prays that the five accused in this case are apprehended at the earliest and subjected to the due course of law as women are being sexually assaulted with growing impunity and nauseating regularity by maniacal predators who are having their just desserts and subsequently boasting about their so called sexual conquests.........

STERLING DEED WORTHY OF EMULATION..........

In what is indeed becoming a rarity in this dog eat dog world; a 14 year old daring and doughty youth put his life on the line while successfully rescuing three woman from the swirling and raging waters of Mother Ganga (Ganges River)........
Muslim Khan; 14; a shepherd by profession was blissfully tending to his herd of sheep at Kadarganj in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj District (on the banks of the river Ganga) late on Friday afternoon when he was confronted with the blood curdling sight of five women from his nondescript village being swept away by the swirling waters of the revered river........
According to Khan; he saw the three women and two teenaged girls stepping into the then dormant river to make their way to a watermelon orchard lying on the opposite bank of the river.........
Within the batting of an eyelid; the river was transformed into a raging fury and Khan who saw the five people from his village struggling to cope with the swirling and engorged waters that engulfed them jumped into the virtual whirlpool without a second thought and successfully managed to pull out the three women by hanging onto their hair and dragging them out from the midst of their watery grave.........
Khan's only regret was that he was unable to save the two teenaged girls who were swept away by the raging currents and says that he would surely do the same if accorded a second opportunity in due course of time.........
Nazeeba Khan Zeenat; the MLA from Patiyali constituency (Kasganj lies under the constituency's jurisdiction) showered wholesome and heartfelt praise and plaudits on the brave youth and also mentioned that she would surely be recommending Muslim Khan's name for the much coveted and ultra prestigious National Bravery Awards.........
Khan Zeenat also said that she would leave no stone unturned in her efforts to ensure that the indomitable 14 year old received his fair share of glory and recognition at the state level as he had selflessly put his life and limb on the line in an effort to save the lives of five people who were only known to him as fellow residents of his village and also that his act was even more praiseworthy as not too many people put others before self in today's self serving times...........
Here's hoping and praying that the young and chivalrous Muslim Khan is not only showered with all the awards and recognition he so richly deserves; but also that some enterprising film maker encapsulates and immortalises his sterling deed on celluloid for posterity so that the same could be a role model for years/decades to come..........

Well; well; well the malaise (domestic violence) affecting most of us common folks seems to be affecting the denizens of tinsel town and how.........
Film and television actress Deepshikha Nagpal who was seen most recently in the recently concluded Bigg Boss Season 8 recently filed a non cognisable offence complaint against her second husband one Kaishav Arora and also obtained a restraining order against him on the basis of the same.........
According to sources close to the actress; Deepshikha and Kaishav got married in 2012 after living in for a little more than three years; this was Deepshikha's second marriage and she already has two teenaged kids from her first alliance (marriage)..........
Kaishav had started returning home in drunk stupors and taken to threatening and taunting Deepshikha off late; the very same sources confirmed; they also added that Deepshikha only approached the cops and obtained the restraining order as she feared for the safety and security of her two children who were being subjected to this daily tamasha........
"Deepshikha has been the sole breadwinner throughout the course of this relationship and she maintained a stoic and studied silence and put with this nonsense as she believed that Kaishav would come to his senses in due course of time and begin to realise the error of his ways; instead things took a turn for the worse and Deepi had to approach the cops after Kaishav got increasingly violent and raucous"; one of Deepshikha's long time friends confided..........

SUNIL NARINE FINDS HIMSELF IN THE DOCK YET AGAIN.........

Is beleaguered Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise's champion off spinner Sunil Narine really bending his arm beyond the permissible 15 degree limit while tossing up certain deliveries or then are vested interests out to fix him and the IPL franchise he represents.........
Narine's "remodelled and revamped" bowling action was cleared by a Chennai based ICC accredited testing facility a mere three days before the commencement of the current IPL season and his troubles have only multiplied since the two on field umpires Messrs Richard Illingworth and Vineet Kulkarni raised their eyebrows and questioned the legality of certain deliveries bowled by Narine during the course of the truncated game held between KKR and SRH in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday April 22; 2015.........
Narine proved to be KKR's most potent and deadly bowling weapon for a little over three seasons and had amassed 21 wickets at an astounding average of 16 per wicket during the course of IPL VII; but since making a comeback with a considerably altered action Narine has floundered and only amassed two wickets at an exorbitant cost of nearly 55 runs per wicket in the five matches that he has featured in this year..........
As per the existing provisions of the IPL Suspected Illegal Bowling Action Policy; Narine can continue to bowl till his action is reported for a second time by the on field umpires during the course of the ongoing domestic tournament.........

24 year old Amit a resident of the national capital's Sangam Vihar locality was arrested by the Delhi police from his humble abode on the sinister and heinous charges of molesting an American woman at his workplace on Wednesday evening.........
According to police sources; Amit was gainfully employed in an extremely popular beauty parlour located within Greater Kailash II's famed M Block Market and was in the course of giving the 35 year old American woman a head message when he succumbed to his baser instincts and let his hands wander across every conceivable part of the American woman's anatomy..........
Startled and taken aback by this wilful and outrageous attempt to outrage her modesty; the doughty American woman raised an alarm and started screaming at the top of her voice following which a startled and chastened Amit fled the spot and took to his heels.........
As soon as she recovered her composure and poise; the woman in question immediately informed her friends about the molestation attempt made on her and her friends reached the spot and accompanied her to the nearby Greater Kailash Police Station where the woman who is India on a business visa lodged a formal complaint against Amit.........
Swinging into action; the police sleuths immediately contacted the owner of the said beauty parlour and successfully managed to extricate the address of Amit's humble Sangam Vihar dwelling from him following which they raided the same on Wednesday night but failed to find Amit within the confines of the same........
Following the abortive raid; the local police sleuths alerted all their informers and tippers off and one of them alerted the local police personnel late on Thursday afternoon leading to Amit's immediate arrest from the very spot..........
Amit has since been produced before a judicial magistrate and confined to five days police custody; a case has been booked against Amit under the applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and he is staring at an unflattering and life changing/altering seven to ten year jail sentence for his crime of passion.......

HEMA MALINI REACHES OUT TO INDIA'S FARMERS..........

It is indeed gratifying and heartening to note that our dallying; callous and indifferent politicians are reaching out to the deeply perturbed farming community at long last in an effort to mend fences and make amends.........
Bharatiya Janata Party's Mathura Member of Parliament Shrimati Hema Malini has taken the lead in this regard and will be almost single handedly organising the "Mathura Mahotsav" a two day long cultural extravaganza in her parliamentary constituency...........
This two day long cultural extravaganza will be held within the hallowed and blessed precincts of the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Temple on April 25 and 26 and telecast live on the widely watched Star Plus entertainment channel all across the globe.........
Ms. Hema Malini candidly admits the fact that the two day long cultural event was initially conceptualised as a "tourism festival"; but I voluntarily decided to shift the goalposts and collect funds that will be entirely earmarked for all those farmers from the area whose standing crops have suffered extensive damage owing to the unseasonal rains and hailstorms that ravaged the entire area a few weeks back..........

This group of conscientious businessmen has voluntarily stepped forward and extended their helping hand to all those farmers who have committed suicide in -recent times owing to the unseasonal rains and hailstorms that plundered their standing crops..........
As a first step in this direction; traders from Allahabad's Chowk area will bear the entire wedding related expenses of the daughters of 21 farmers who committed suicide or then ended their lives owing to the above mentioned reason; all these weddings will be solemnised during the wedding season that is on between the months of April to June........
Reaching out to the bereaved and distressed families; the general secretary of the Parishad said that the traders body would bear the entire related expenses and leave no stone unturned in their efforts to get these daughters married off in as lavish and grandiose manner as their late fathers must have desired..........
Walking the proverbial extra mile; the traders community has also despatched it's emissaries and asked them to try and reach out to every distressed and traumatised family; "we have always shared familial relations with the farming community and it is only natural that one brother reaches out to the other in his hour of need": Vaishya signs off.........
One only hopes and prays that the governments in power both at the centre and the states take a leaf out of these good samaritan's book and emulating their sterling and noble deeds as it is the sworn duty of the government to provide succour and relief to any and every distressed Indian no matter what irrespective of whether or not the ghoulish and scavenging media's cameras are focussed on them or not.........

One may do well to remember the fact that "Waqt" which was the precursor or then father of the oft repeated "Lost and Found" theme had one of the nation's finest ever actors the late Balraj Sahni; "Jaani" Raaj Kumar and the suave and debonair Shashi Kapoor in pivotal roles and also that the film went on to break all existing box office records and register unprecedented figures at the box office in that golden era...........
Though in it's initial stages of conceptualisation; sources close to the iconoclast banner (BR films and television) have gone ahead and confirmed the fact that Ms. Renu Chopra is more than keen on having the nation's tallest living actor Shri Amitabh Bachchan (in Balraj Sahni's role); Akshay Kumar (in Jaani Raaj Kumar's role) and last but not the least teenage heart throb Varun Dhawan (in Shashi Kapoor's role)........

According to sources close to the actor; he was pained and devastated by various news items pertaining to the notable absence of adequate funding and training facilities for Indian para athletes who are more than keen to make a mark both for themselves and the nation in the Rio De Janeiro Para Olympics that are slated to be held early next year.........

Cases of rape and sodomising involving minors both as perpetrators and victims certainly seem to be on the upswing if crime stories emerging from India's hundreds of cities are any trend to go by........
In the latest such incident involving a minor a 13 year old minor girl was allegedly sexually exploited by a callous;sinister and macabre 21 year old youth over a period exceeding two months in Punjab's Patiala city........
According to the case's investigating officer; the harrowed; harangued and utterly terrified victim did not disclose her tale of woe and exploitation to either her parents and other family members as her tormentor repeatedly held out the implied threat about uploading explicit MMS's about their sexual piccadilloes on various social networking and pornographic sites if she as much as breathed a word about the pitiable plight that had befallen her off late.......
She only broke down and confided in her disbelieving and incredulous father late on Sunday evening when he sat her down and questioned her about her highly irregular and nocturnal habits citing the excuse of extra classes and tuitions time and again..........
Confronted with her damning lies; the 13 year old class VI student broke down and tearfully narrated her tale of exploitation by the 21 year old youth who is a singer at religious functions and jagrans by profession; she also said that her tormentor and molester had befriended her on the pretext of teaching her how to sing and then proceeded to demean and debauch her time and again.........
Cases under sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code as well as all the relevant and applicable sections of the POCSO act have been slapped against the accused who still remains at large and two police teams expressly constituted for the very purpose have been entrusted with the onerous responsibility of apprehending him at the earliest..........

UNWARRANTED AND UNPROVOKED ACID ATTACK........

What can one say about a society or then so called social set up that does not even spare it's widows and destitutes and makes furtive attempts to dismember and disfigure them at the drop of a hat........
A 38 year old widow who has been residing by herself after her husband passed away a little over four years ago was allegedly attacked with an acid like chemical by two miscreants in the national capital's Pitampura locality around midnight or so on Sunday night........
According to the case's investigating officer; the widow claimed to have heard a series of knocks on her front door at the appointed hour and also claimed that two miscreants flung the acid like substance on her face as soon as she opened the door and took to their heels within a matter of seconds..........
Call it providence or then anything else that catches your fancy; the acid like substance failed to have the much desired effect and only left the thoroughly shaken and deeply perturbed widow all itchy and a little bit discomforted..........
Neighbours and co-residents in Pitampura's Subhash Palace area who woke up to the sounds of the widow's screams and heart rending cries rushed to her aid and duly called up the local cops who in turn rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors discharged her after four hours or so after treating the itch that had affected both her face and neck.........
Neighbours and fellow residents of the area who were questioned by the police following the dastardly incident alluded to the fact the doughty and incomparable widow had a long standing dispute with her immediate neighbour about the erection of a gate/enclosure on her property and also that the gent might have some involvement or other in the failed acid attack..........
CCTV footage recovered from cameras stationed/positioned in and around the crime scene have somewhat helped the police sleuths to identify the two hoodlums; sketches of the two have since been circulated to all the police stations within the national capital region (NCR) and the Pitampura Police Higher Ups are more than optimistic about their chances of nabbing the wanted duo at the earliest.........
Like I said earlier the less said about a society that treats it's widows in this heinous and deplorable manner the better..........

Two so called gallant; gentlemanly; caring; debonair; despicable; deplorable and devilish men contrived to sexually exploit and ravage a 40 year old mentally challenged woman in Dehradun's Ramnagar Area late on Thursday night.........
According to the investigating officer; the two rapists have since been identified as Suraj 34 and Shivram 31; best friends and co-residents of the area's Bailgarh area and one of the assailants namely Suraj has since been arrested from an undisclosed location on Friday afternoon while the police is on the lookout for the still untraceable Shivram.........
This woman who knew no better was wandering in the area all by herself muttering to himself in a melodious monotone when the two monsters who ravaged and desecrated her chanced upon her; led her to the deserted environs of an under construction building and then proceeded to defile and devour her as they pleased.........
Some passers by and construction workers who arrived at the said location early on Friday morning found the rape survivor in a bedraggled and piteous condition and promptly informed the local police thana.......
For once; the constables from the local police thana showed their humanitarian and praiseworthy side and took the woman to a government hospital where the doctors who attended on her somehow managed to extract her tale of woe and exploitation and narrated the same to the police higher ups who swung into action and managed to nab one of the two accused............
Like I said earlier if the same are not manifestations and hallmarks of a depraved; deplorable and demonic society then what are/is??????

Is the merest hint or then whiff of suspicion cause enough to snuff out the life and spirit of your legally wedded wife????well these two Ludhiana (Punjab) based husbands certainly thought so.........
In the first instance of a woman being killed by her husband as he suspected her of having an extra marital affair behind his back; 23 year old Mahi alias Santosh Devi was throttled to death by her irate and infuriated husband who works as a sweeper with the city's municipal corporation at their nondescript abode in the city's Sunder Nagar area late on Tuesday night.........
According to the case's investigating officer: Mahi was a little more than two months pregnant and found dead in her dwelling by disbelieving neighbours who immediately alerted the area police which immediately swung into action; set Mahi's mortal remains for the legally mandated post mortem and also arrested her accused husband one Sandeep Kumar from a shady spot on the very same (Wednesday) evening..........
Sandeep Kumar who is a well known crack addict; broke down under the relentless pressure exerted by him by the police sleuths during the questioning session and willingly confessed to the crime by admitting that he mercilessly battered his wife of eleven months and then throttled her to death as he suspected her fidelity and believed that she was having/conducting and extra marital affair with a gent from the same neighbourhood..........
A case of murder and brutality has since been booked against the accused and he is currently incarcerated in judicial custody........
In the second such instance reported from the city; 38 year old Phool Mati; a mother of five daughters was done to death with the help of a sharp edged weapon by her husband of twenty years in the city's Hambran Road area early on Wednesday morning.........
According to the couple's disconsolate daughter; Ram Murti Chauhan; the main accused in this case and a vegetable had a particularly heated and acrimonious argument with his wife of twenty years during which he repeatedly accused her of sleeping around with the men from their locality behind his back..........
Before; Aarti (one of the couple's five daughters) and the few neighbours who had gathered around the spot on hearing the fracas could even begin comprehending the gravity of the situation; Chauhan slit his wife's throat with a sharp edged knife and left the spot leaving behind his grievously injured wife..........
Aarti and a few neighbours somehow managed to rush a copiously bleeding Phool Mati to a nearby government hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival and the very same hospital's staffers alerted the cops who reached the spot took cognisance of the situation and recorded the statements of Aarti and the neighbours who clearly identified Chauhan as the assailant..........
A case of murder has since been registered against Chauhan on the basis of the recorded statements of eyewitnesses and a massive manhunt has been launched in an effort to nab him at the earliest.........
One only wonders whether intrinsically precious and seemingly irreplaceable human lives have become so cheap and pithy/meaningless that the merest whiff of suspicion is cause enough to snuff them out in their prime...........

In a day and age where everybody is obsessed with him/her self to the point of insanity and narcissism is the rule rather than the exception comes a heart warming and truly inspiring tale of an Allahabad based watchman cum part time tonga driver who magnanimously came/stepped forward to adopt a new born baby girl who was cast aside on a railway line and left to die by her biological parents.........
Ganga Prasad; the good samaritan cum angel reincarnate was going for his morning ablutions towards the Mal Godam of the Naini Railway Station when he heard a plaintive and heart rending cry uttered by a creature that he initially thought was a dog in considerable distress and misery........
Thinking that the dog in question might have been cut down by a passing railway train and is in it's death throes; Ganga Prasad surreptitiously made his way towards the creature when to his considerable consternation and utter disbelief he discovered that the creature he thought was a dog in distress turned out to be a new born baby girl with a few wounds on her face and other parts of her miniscule anatomy.........
Without any further ado Ganga Prasad carefully wrapped up the little bundle of humanity in his dhoti and made his way towards his humble and nondescript dwelling where he handed over his new found treasure to his thoroughly overwhelmed and overjoyed wife of twelve years Manju........
Already blessed with two children (Raj (9) and Neelu (7)) who are the apples of this doting couple's hearts and souls; both Ganga Prasad and Manju had undergone sterilisation operations after the birth of their second offspring as they were crystal clear that they could not bring up any more children on the meagre Rs. 1,500/- per month that Ganga Prasad earns from his watch ,manly duties at the Naini Police station plus whatever little he earns from his avatar as a part time tonga driver...........
"God alone knows how many people must have passed by the very same spot where the new born was callously abandoned and passed on without even bothering to provide her with succour and comfort; perhaps it was destined that this little bundle of joy was to come into our lives and illuminate them with the sheer luminosity of her blithe spirit; God is great and if he so will that this little girl should be brought up in the same manner as my other two offspring; so be it"; Ganaga Prasad quips...........
The rest of us enlightened and supposedly educated folks who pontificate and wax eloquent on every conceivable topic and issue under the sun without ever bothering to take the trouble of putting our words and proclamations into action would indeed do well to emulate the sterling examples of Ganga Prasad and Manju who more than willingly brought this abandoned girl child into their unfancied lives and made her a part of the same...........
Shame on us folks who make a lot of ado about nothing but fail to put our thoughts and words into action when it matters the most...........
