Pain or then prolonged suffering of a loved one more often than not brings out the best in people and make them reach out to such others in the fervent hope of netting the choicest and most genuine blessings and thereby alleviating their near's and dear's pain in the bargain........
It has been well over a decade since Aziz Inamdar began seeing his paralytic or partially paralysed wife bear the pain, suffering and ignominy with quiet dignity fortitude and an almost super human resilience; the frequent hospital visits only served to awaken his conscience and reach out to people undergoing similar predicaments.........
In his own words, "wisdom only began to dawn on me when I saw my better half wracked with pain; it made me sit up and think that there must be numerous others like me who must be undergoing the same; so I do try and reach out despite being nothing more than a humble auto rickshaw driver and offer free rides to and from the hospital as frequently as I can"..........
On being quizzed behind his motive and rationale for/behind the same; Inamdar remarks, "he does this in the hope of garnering the heartfelt blessings of similarly suffering people and thereby lessening if not totally alleviating the pain and trauma suffered by my wife on a daily basis"......
"My better half suffered her first paralytic attack way back in 2004, he truculently reveals, her left side was almost totally paralysed and she lost her ability to speak coherently and cogently as a result of the same".......
"Ever since I have been religiously accompanying my life partner to Pune's Tarachand Ramnath Charitable Ayurvedic Hospital on an almost daily basis, I have struggled innumerable times since I could not muster up the auto fare as I had to give up my permanent job in a factory, that set me thinking and I started my own auto service through which I do try and reach out to the families of similarly suffering people as often as I can", Inamdar reveals.........
"Thanking his lucky stars and almighty for the choicest blessing of 'real' friends who resolutely stood by him in his time of dire need, he says that these very same friends provided him with a place to reside in the city's Budhwar Peth locality as well as rendered unstinted support in setting up his auto service as well as reaching out to the needy in times of need".......
"I do not do this for this for either pecuniary benefits, rewards, awards, recognition or any other form of material aggrandisement but simply because I believe that service to mankind is service to the almighty; I have steadfastly refused to accept any kind of remuneration or material help from the families of those I help or good samaritans who evince their keen interest in contributing their mite towards my cause".........
"I am able to do whatever I can through my modest means and I do hope that my selfless service will soon bear fruit as tolerating those days when my spouse is at her worst and almost completely oblivious to our presence because of her immense pain is becoming more and more of a back and soul breaking ordeal", Inamdar piteously confides...........
Here's hoping and praying that the almighty does at long last listen to the prayers of this noble soul who continues to smile through his tears and alleviate other's pain despite bearing more than his fair share of the same.........
