Justice does have this uncanny ability of catching up with you when you least expect it to as it did with a murderer who did away with his sister-in-law and one month old daughter as the 22 year old woman regularly shunned or spurned his advances or sexual overtures and stood up to him as she should........
The much maligned and criticised Delhi Police seems to have done something right at long last as it managed to nab one Kismat the prime suspect in the murder of his 22 year old sister-in-law Nagma and her one month old daughter Sofia within two days of the occurrence of this diabolical crime........
According to police sources, Kismat was nabbed from the very same Sunder Nagar area which in turn is located in East Delhi's Nand Nagri locality as one of his so called friends and confidantes led the team of Delhi police officials investigating this heinous crime towards the hideout where Kismat was ensconed........
One may do well to recall the fact that 22 year old Nagma and her one month old daughter Sofia were strangled to death in their humble dwelling in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and that her father in law Arshad who was bound securely for rope was repeatedly calling for help and wailing that Kismat had killed Nagma and Sofia and then taken to his heels...........
According to the investigating officer, Nagma's father in law Arshad Khan was exerting undue pressure on her and coercing her to get married to her brother in law as her husband Dildaar Ali had been arrested in connection with his involvement in a spate of robberies in the neighbourhood and was slated to spend a minimum of 5 years in jail as a result of the same..........
To their dismay and consternation, Nagma proved to be made of sterner stuff, not only did she turn a deaf ear towards her father-in-law's entreaties and implied threats but also regularly spurned the sexual overtures and advances made by Kismat............
Matters however came to a head in the early hours of Wednesday morning when Kismat firstly proceeded to strangle Nagma and Sofia with a rope following a particularly heated and acrimonious argument and then proceeded to bound his very own father with the very same rope before making good his escape from the scene of the crime........
What is it with archetypal Indian males when will we ever learn that if a woman says no she means no; woman also have a mind of their own and their bodies are sacrosanct, they and only they have the right to decide whom they want to have bodily or sexual relations with and the same cannot be forced upon them and if you still feel that your are above the law and hence can take matters into your own hands, then be prepared for the worst for your actions could end up leading you towards the gallows......
