According to Paras Anand (SG's marketing director) Prithvi has been using SG brand bats, pads, gloves and so on and so forth for the last 5-6 years and the company decided to take him on board when they were informed about his incomparable exploits with the bat by Makarand Waingankar, veteran cricket journalist, author as well as proven talent spotter..........
On being apprised of the fact that this prodigiously talented teenager belongs to an exceedingly modest and humble background; SG decided to step up to the plate and not only provide him with their world class equipment gratis but also bear all his accommodation, training and travelling related costs in addition to paying him the afore mentioned sum of moolah.........
