FARHAN AKHTAR ADDS ONE MORE FEATHER TO HIS CAP.........

Carrying his MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) one step further and putting his money where his mouth is; film maker/actor Farhan Akhtar has gone ahead and released a single entitled "Chulein Aasman" which drives home the message about the girl child being an inalienable and highly desirable part of any and every Indian family...........
Created in active collaboration with the "sultan of soulful melodies" Salim Merchant; the touching and timely ditty has been penned and sung by Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Pandit; while noted music composers Salim/Sulaiman have composed the music as well as provided the additional vocals required.........
What makes the video start miles apart from other similar videos or then videos/songs that set out to drive home a similar message is the fact that all the women who feature in the video are wholely and solely dressed in Indian attire: Punjabi suits; churidars and sarees unlike other such videos which show "empowered" women donning "formal western attire"..........
Farhan Akhtar has also gone ahead and joined hands and forces with Google's "Helping Women Get Online" initiative in an effort to ensure that women get their due worth in an essentially male dominated society as well as enjoy an equal footing in a "gender neutral" world.........
Here's hoping that Farhan's timely initiative does indeed end up making the difference it sets out to as well as sensitises a seemingly demonic society to women's rights and needs........
