An insane, inexplicable , maniacal and dastardly "race" between two buses run by private operators all but caused a class 7 student of a Howrah (West Bengal) school her left hand as the two buses who were insanely competing for a greater clash of the moolah came together with a clattering din........
Sonamoni Chakraborty a class 7 student of a Howrah based public school was returning home after Durga Pujo shopping with her mother on Tuesday evening Putul Chakraborty when the bus she was travelling in came into contact with the bus that is was competing with in this deplorable race and the crashing of the two competing buses almost crushed the young girl's left hand beyond repair.......
According to Putul Chakraborty; her young daughter was seated with her left elbow protruding outside the railing (an age old habit) when the two buses that were racing together side by side came together with an earth shattering clamour and her precious daughter's left hand was almost mangled beyond all recognition as a result of the crash.........
Alert and conscientious passers by' helped Putul rush her critically injured daughter to the district headquarters hospital where her condition is slated as critical and the doctors attending on her hold out a forlorn hope of saving her mutilated left arm..........
Making maximum use of the prevalent confusion and mayhem; the drivers and conductors of the two buses in question surreptitiously made their way out of them and succeeded in making themselves scarce before the crowd could lay their hands on them and hand them over to the local police........
As is customary in all such cases; the local cops have registered cases of rash and negligent driving against the drivers of the two buses as well as the owners of the same under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act; two teams have duly been constituted to trace the whereabouts of the absconding drivers and conductors and the senior police officials are extremely optimistic about their prospects of nabbing the absconders at the earliest..........
