The national capital's malady i.e. rape, sexual exploitation and molestation seems to have spread it's tentacles to the country's financial capital (Mumbai) if this report emanating from the city is any yardstick or parameter to go by..........
A 18 year old young woman was allegedly stalked/chased, molested and subsequently disrobed by four men in north Mumbai's Kandivili area in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon........
According to eyewitness accounts, the young woman was relentlessly chased/pursued by this group of men who then proceeded to grope her, fondle her nether regions and ultimately pull her vestments off her quivering body without as much as batting an eyelid.........
The utterly humiliated, shamed and dishevelled woman did earlier make a furtive attempt to protect her modesty by blundering into a roadside eatery but was bundled out off the same by staffers who were utterly unmindful of her sorry and pitiable plight........
Summoning her wits and last ounces of stamina/strength, the young woman kept running and even made a furtive attempt to get into an autorickshaw, but was bundled out off the same by her stalkers/pursuers..........
A conscientious citizen who was passing by came to her aid and caught hold off two of her pursuers and also beat them black and blue while a beat constable who was alerted by the commotion caught hold of the other two and bundled the four off them to the nearest police station with the help of others like him........
Cases have been booked against them under the applicable sections of the "Nirbhaya" Act/law and the investigating officer suspects that two of the arrested men might prove to be minors.........
Is there any nook and cranny of our motherland where our womenfolk can really feel safe and protected????it is indeed high time that the "real" men stand up and start creating such safe and sheltered havens for them........
