Bad karma or then should I say ill luck seems to be plaguing students from the North East residing in the national capital what with one of them being found dead in his temporary residence in the early hours of Monday morning......
According to Delhi police sources 20 year old Maiairwibo was found dead in his rental accomodation in South Delhi's Munirka area by friends in the early hours of Monday morning......
Mairiwibo complained of acute breathlessness/suffocation and breathing problems in the wee hours of Monday morning and was rushed to the government run Safdarjung hospital by concerned friends where the doctors declared him dead on/upon arrival.......
Mairiwibo was pursuing a correspondence course from Delhi university and the AIIMS authorities have been requested to carry out an autopsy on Mairiwibo's mortal remains in order to ascertain the exact cause of his untimely death and rule out the remotest possibility of foul play........
His numerous friends and fellow residents however rule out the possibility of any foul play and swear that Mairiwibo's untimely demise was entirely due to natural causes; "we found him gasping for breath and in a deeply unconscious state and rushed him to the Safdarjung hospital as soon as it was humanly possible", they go on to add......
Delhi police officials also seem to have bough their oft repeated theory a little too easily and are currently ruling out the possibility of any foul play; wiser counsel however seems to be prevailing at the higher levels with the South Delhi ACP cautioning against the drawing of any hasty conclusions and waiting for the post mortem report as the medical procedure will not only shed further light on the imbroglio put also put paid to all speculation..........
"We are in the process of questioning the whereabouts of his friends and co-residents and trying to corroborate the claims made by them in this regard; the post mortem report is expected during the course of the next 48-72 hours and the contents of the same will determine our future course of investigation and action", the said high ranking Delhi police officer concludes.........
All one can say in conclusion is that the post mortem report holds the answers to the hundreds of questions and speculations being raised about this untimely and devastating death; what with the deluge of unsavoury incidents involving students from the north eastern part of the country that seems to have occupied the nation's collective imagination and conscience as well as media headlines/space off late........
