I for one am sorry to say this, but the lord almighty seems to be the only one with the ability to make sense of the deplorable, demonic, reprehensible and avaricious behaviour of men cutting across age barriers in our so called civilised society that supposedly places it's long suffering womenfolk on a pedestal.........
A 23 year old woman who was married in the very recent past was brutally sexually assaulted (raped) by her very own father-in-law late on Tuesday night in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh's) Loni area........
According to the complaint filed by the victim against her father-in-law she and her father- in-law were the only two people occupying the house when to her utter disbelief and considerable horror her father-in-law pounced on her, subdued her and mercilessly raped her before fleeing the spot the very second he has satiated his uncontrollable lust and perversion.......
Sticking to the pre ordained script (which has become commonplace in all such cases), he threatened her with dire bodily and physical consequences if she as much as let out a whiff of the horrendous calamity that had befallen her.........
The crestfallen, utterly shattered and despondent victim somehow managed to muster up the courage to telephonically inform her brother about the inhuman assault on her a good three to four hours after the attack (early Wednesday morning) and her brother led her towards the neighbouring police station where a FIR was filed against the accused who is still at large on the basis of her complaint.........
A detailed medical examination of the victim was carried out at a government hospital in Ghaziabad late on Wednesday afternoon and the result of the same is awaited; in the meanwhile, the Loni police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the absconding accused and are extremely hopeful of nabbing him within the next 72-96 hours or so........
One wonders whether there is any place left in this so called civilised country of ours where a woman can indeed fail safe and secure; if a woman cannot feel safe and secure within the four walls of her own home in the company of a supposedly father figure, then wherever else can she feel safe secure and cloistered away from the tentacles of marauding men who consider women nothing more than a mere object of sexual gratification..........
