According to reports appearing in various sections of the media; Aboobacker a lifelong resident of Kozhikode's Mukkom Area denied his first born his/her due share of mother's milk for well over 24 hours as he claimed that a local preacher had forewarned him about the perilous and supposedly life threatening consequences that could befall the new born if he/she as much as imbibed a single drop of her mother's eternal nectar until the muezzin had given the clarion call for the day's fifth and final namaaz session.......
Exasperated and infuriated doctors at Mukkom's famed EMS Hospital pleaded with the adamant Aboobacker and touted a virtual plethora of reasons to reverse his illogical and seemingly insane decision but Aboobacker stuck to his guns and stoutly denied his first born his/her due right until 7:30 pm on a fateful and eventful Thursday evening when he forcibly got his first born and utterly bewildered spouse discharged despite the sage advice meted out to him by a team of doctors and psychologist........
Aboobacker's first born (a son) was ushered into the world with a lot of fanfare and celebration at around 1:30 pm or so on a typical Kerala Wednesday afternoon at the afore mentioned hospital and his father heralded his arrival by denying him his naturally endowed rights and privileges as his father repeatedly insisted that this supposedly "know it all" preacher had educated him about the new born's ability to survive for up to 48 hours on the basis of the nutrients that abounded or then resided in his (newly born son's) naval chord.......
Having reached the end of their collective tether and having run out of patience and fortitude; the on duty doctors at the time finally ended up summoning the men in khakhi from an adjoining police station and instructed them on the crying need for drilling some well deserved sense and sanity into this religious zealot's psyche and the jaded and world weary police sleuths who till then thought that they had seen it all were amazed and bewildered by the gent's vehemence and petulance.......
This merry go around (if one call it that) or rigmarole continued until 7:30 pm or so until the next evening (Thursday evening) when Aboobacker got his wife and child forcibly discharged from the hospital despite the doctor's clearly elucidating their reservations and concerns to the contrary.......
As to whether the new born was surreptitiously or then clandestinely allowed to imbibe or ingest his first drops of the elixir of life; two contrasting versions are doing the rounds as the cops claim that the infant's mother fed him more than once while the sleuths successfully managed to engaged Aboobacker in an utterly fruitless and meaningless decision while the doctors and medical staff on duty refute any eventuality of the same having occurred.......
Well; what else can say in conclusion other than repeating the age old fact/dictum about it taking all kinds to make this world.......
