Will this four year old prodigy go on to surpass cricketing icons/legends such as Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar........
Meet the eighth wonder of the world; four year old Shayan Jamal a kindergarten student of the national capital's Hamdard Public School (Sangam Vihar) who already boasts of a copybook cover drive and has mastered the art of leaving alone deliveries pitched out his off stump.........
Shayan was a little over a year old when he was bitten by the cricket bug for the first time according to his preening father Arshad who was a better than average club cricketer in his heyday........
An avowed fan of the incumbent Indian test skipper Virat Kohli; Shayan spends hours on end transfixed in front of the family's 36 inch fully High Definition television set whenever his cricketing idol is at the crease and perfected the art of playing an immaculate cover and straight drive by assiduously imbibing his inspiration's masterly technique and sublime stroke play........
What has confounded all those doubting thomases and naysayers is the seemingly unbelievable fact that this shy and unassuming four year old has already been selected in his alma mater's under 12 cricket team and even more creditably notched up an impressive score of 87 not out in his first outing in his school's colours...........
Being almost exclusively tutored;coached and mentored by his dad since two cricketing academies turned him down by touting the excuse of his being too young to be admitted to the academies; this four year old spends the best part of five to six hours a day on honing his superlative batting skills and gets irritable and cranky if his dad plays truant and backs out of even a single coaching session for any reason whatsoever........
The pride and glory of both his school as well as his fawning team mates this supremely gifted four year old prodigy might just go on to become Indian cricket's next "big thing" if the almighty Allah so wills and he sustains/maintains his current interest in the game his justifiably proud father concludes.........
