This dapper; dashing; stroke full and belligerent 35 year old Twenty 20 specialist who is turning out for the Rising Pune Supergiants in the ongoing ninth edition of the Indian Premier League certainly got a lot more than he bargained for at a local coffee shop (a franchise of an international chain of coffee shops/cafes)...........
Kevin who has been contributing handsomely with the bat to his beleaguered team's cause decided to spend a relaxing and rejuvenating evening at the afore mentioned coffee shop with his skipper Dhoni and a few other team mates and was asked to name his favourite brew so that the same could be served in a jiffy........ As is the norm in all the outlets sporting this international brands name and logo; Kevin was asked to spell out his name so that the same could be inscribed on the plastic glass/container in which his preferred poison was served so that there was no confusion about him not being served the concoction of his dreams......... But what happened when the coffee brewer manning the counter called out his name and handed over his steaming cup of coffee took this rather rumbustious and often riotous naturalised Englishman by utter surprise and consternation........
Much to his and his friends amusement; Kevin found that the staff at the said coffee shop had rechristened or then renamed him as "CABIN" instead of his given name; but being the sport he is he took the same in his stride with his trademark smile and a few wisecracks thrown in for good measure rather than raising a furore as most others would have done under similar circumstances........
Sharing the joke on himself with the rest of the world; Pietersen even tweeted a photograph of himself proudly brandishing the container of coffee which sported his name as "CABIN" and forgave the staff member who had committed this seemingly unpardonable gaffe by quipping; "just a simple misunderstanding; happens with/to me all the time".........
Kevin or "CABIN"; why don't you decide which nomenclature suits him the best or then does justice to his effervescent personality.....
