One is really forced into sitting back and wondering whether our beloved motherland has indeed entered the 21st century or still continues languishing in the dark ages while pondering over such brutal and bloody instances........
An irate; incensed; vexed; vengeful; slighted and more importantly gullible and highly superstitious father bludgeoned his 9 year old son to death in Chhattisgarh's Tilda village (about 45 kms or so away from the state's capital Raipur) on the intervening night of Thursday/early Friday morning as he wasconvinced that his "jinxed" progeny was the root cause of all his earthly woes.........
According to senior police officials the accused one Sravan Satnami (38) who voluntarily surrendered at a local police station late on Friday afternoon and more than willingly confessed to the ghastly crime was deeply influenced by a self styled local godman who brainwashed him into committing this horrendous crime........
According to the accused's confessional statement; he walked into his humble abode sozzled to the gills and more than considerably angered by the so called godman's statements pertaining to his "jinxed" progeny........
Taking undue advantage of his wife's absence (she was away at a wedding being held in the same village); he proceeded to wake up his unsuspecting son from his blissful slumber and proceeded to bash his head on the floor till he was reduced to a copiously bleeding semi conscious mass of humanity owing to the grievous injuries inflicted on his head by the very person who significantly contributed to his creation........
He subsequently proceeded to strangulate his senseless son with his bare hands and continued throttling him till he had expelled his last breath before surreptitiously escaping into the dark and deathly night.........
In the meanwhile; the victim's mother who had returned home a short while after the murderous father fled the scene started shrieking like the proverbial banshee when she was confronted with the unceremonious spectacle of her bleeding and senseless son lying on the floor in a pool of his very own blood.........
Alarmed and startled by her piteous screams and cries for help; fellow villagers rushed to her aid and rushed the unconscious 9 year old to a nearby government hospital where the doctor on duty at the time declared him brought dead on arrival.........
The accused was produced before a local court/magistrate on Friday evening and remanded to fourteen days of police custody so that the investigating authorities can successfully complete their ongoing investigation and register a case against the accused under the applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code.........
Notch up one more wild; wanton; barbaric; seemingly insane and utterly needless murder to the self styled godmen and legions of followers who seem to believe that the sun and moon rise and set at their behest.......
