Cyber crimesters seem to have perfected the dubious/nefarious art of pilfering clips of newly married couples intimate moments and uploading the same on social networking as well as porn sites if recent trends are any parameter or yardstick to go by.................
An Ahmedabad based couple (long term residents of the city's famed Satellite Town) who had recorded the minute by minute proceedings of their honeymoon a little over seven years back; were shocked and dismayed to find their intimate moments featuring prominently all over the worldwide net a week or so ago.......
To their credit; they promptly lodged a written complaint with the Ahmedabad Police's cyber cell as soon as they were notified about the unsavoury developments pertaining to their intensely private intimate moments by a perturbed and concerned mutual friend who chanced upon the same on at least two social networking as well as quite a few porn sites a little over a week or so ago.........
Getting cracking without any further ado; Ahmedabad cyber cell authorities/sleuths promptly asked the concerned social networking site about the IP address from which the now infamous clip was launched and successfully managed to trace the same to a cell phone being used in the Pune area.........
Further investigations revealed that the SIM card of the Pune based cellphone was registered in the name of one Kunal Chauhan who has now been summoned for questioning by the Ahmedabad police in order to ascertain the fact whether he had uploaded these clips on the said sites all by himself or whether some third person had clandestinely misused the sim card registered in his name and thereby cooked his goose in the bargain...........
There certainly is a lesson for all of us somewhere especially with regard to being vigilant and reporting the loss of your cellphone and memory card forthwith instead of remaining oblivious to the development for 7 long years like the Ahmedabad based couple and rising up from your self enforced slumber after you have become the unwilling stars on a few infamous sites that take undue pride in airing such material...........
