I for one can more than vouch for the heart wrenching fact that losing a pet is indeed one of the most poignant and nerve wracking experiences that one can experience as I have loved and lost more than a couple of them........
Madhya Pradesh's Namdarpura Village underwent a similar experience on the fateful day of September 22 when the collective apple of every villager's eye Kalu (village's dearer than life pet dog) drew his last breath and departed the land of the living.......
Kalu had been a more than integral part and parcel of the 3,000 odd inhabitants of this ubiquitous and hitherto anonymous village for the last 17 odd years according to a tearful and seemingly inconsolable resident and hence the entire village decided to accord the object of their desire a befitting farewell.......
A tempo was hired to transport Kalu's mortal remains to his final resting place and the flower bedecked cortege was dutifully followed by every resident of the afore mentioned village as well as equally distressed and dismayed residents of a few neighbouring villages as well......
Led by a reputed and famous local band who played mournful and tear wrenching tunes all through the three odd kilometer journey Kalu was finally laid to rest in a freshly excavated grave and a marble slab bearing his photo date of birth and death was erected at the spot to immortalise his eventful and remarkable life and times........
How one wishes and prays that a callous; uncaring; apathetic and cadaverous or then should I say system; state governments; government officials and medical authorities accorded the same respect to recently departed fellow human beings and lesser mortals........
