iS WINNING ANY WHICH WAY, the sole purpose behind contesting elections or then does the election process provide you with a ready made platform to reach out to the citizens of our glorious motherland, disseminate information about the crimes and misdeeds of "opportunistic messiahs" who play the development or caste card depending on the part of the country they happen to be in........
We (read volunteers and leaders of the fledgling Aam Aadmi Party) left no stone unturned in our yeoman efforts to expose and unmask the eternal crown prince in waiting Rahul Gandhi as well as a mass murderer turned modern day messiah who answers to the name of Narendra Modi.......
Yes, we bore assaults, brickbats, savagery, brutality, bestiality and verbal volleys without retaliating and resolutely continued on our merry way as we had far more important things to do namely saving the country and it's 130 odd crore citizens from the clutches of self serving and tyrannical politicians who could not provide fellow Indians with the basic necessities of life like potable drinking water, uninterrupted electricity round the clock, housing, sanitation, clothing, two square meals, and last but not the least rudimentary health and education facilities despite having occupied the high seats of power for the last 68 years.........
I would be the first one to admit that we did make a few lofty and outlandish sounding promises, but unlike other political parties we delivered on them and more than adequately managed to send more than a shiver down the spine of government officials and police wallahs who had made rampant corruption an integral part of their everyday lives..........
For the first time in the history of independent India we (read the AAP government in Delhi) initiated the much required and eagerly awaited process of independently auditing the accounts of discoms (electricity companies and suppliers) who had perfected the dubious art of fleecing innocent citizens with fraudulent claims about escalating operational costs, so on and so forth.........
Despite the crores of rupees spent on hiring legal eagles to safeguard their corrupt self interest and nefarious crony capitalistic practices, we (read the truth triumphed) and the august court of the country ruled in our favour by duly stating the fact that the Kejriwal government was well within it's rights to order an independent audit into the functioning and accounts submitted by these Discoms by the CAG.........
Our tryst with power lasted for an eventful and tumultuous 49 day period during which we not only upheld our promises on providing Delhiites with free water and subsidised electricity but also more than willingly gave up the trappings and lure of power when it came to the question of ushering in an almost corruption free, responsive and accountable government with the introduction of the eagerly awaited Jan Lokpal Bill only to be rudely and brusquely halted in our tracks by the nation's two most corrupt parties who ganged up against us as they feared the spectacle of more than 80% of their so called leaders being incarcerated in the nation's various jails where they rightfully belong...........
We were the only party on the block that carried out a minute scrutiny and thorough examination of the credentials of our 400 odd parliamentary candidates and more than adequately made sure that we did not fall into the age old trappings of caste, creed, sect, religion, region or last but not the least candidates with a criminal background who were enthusiastically propped up by all the other parties on the political firmament as winnability was far more important in their scheme of things and corruption was only something that one paid lip service too..........
Yet, the nation has voted and voted in overwhelming favour of the modern day Nero Narendra Modi who has the blood of thousands of innocents on his hands, heart and soul (if the numbers being put out by various news channels in their exit polls are indeed proved to be right), well the best of luck to them with their chosen government for the next five years, we (AAP) have embarked on the holy mission of ushering in an era of corruption, taint and criminal free governance and will not rest until we have achieved our mission/objective.........
