Yes you did indeed read it right this Baltimore based school initiated or then pioneered a one of it's kind programme with effect from June 2016 onwards which entails replacing detested and abhorred detention with meditation and self realisation........
Drawing inspiration from the various forms of meditation and self realisation propagated and practiced by the Art of Living and Osho (Acharya Rajneesh) Ashrams the Robert. W. Coleman Elementary School introduced or then incorporated a series of programmes and the results derived over the last three odd months have astounded and astonished every doubting Thomas and dyed in the wool skeptic.......
Under the aegis of this dynamic and life altering pogrom every erring; disobedient and truculent pupil is ushered into the school's "Mindful Moment Room" a room or then vacant expanse of space adorned or embellished with serene and calming purple windows; Chinese and other paper lanterns and last but not the least wall hangings and such other decorations that have been created by the students themselves........
In addition to the above; the afore mentioned school also offers a plethora of alternatives wherein the students can enroll themselves and practice a virtual encyclopedia of meditation;yoga and other such mind control exercises and mediums appropriately christened "Holistic Me" in conjunction with a local NGO whcih calls itself the Holistic Life Foundation.........
One wonders when our schools; prison centres or torture/horror chambers (as yours truly prefers calling them) will take a leaf out of this emulatory school's illustrious and illuminating book and start following suit........
