ON "RAAG DESH" AND IT''S RELEVANCE......

Trust one of the Hindi Film Industry's most iconic and decorated film makers Tigmanshu Dhulia to conjure up a masterpiece that makes you take notice and leaves you intrigued and spellbound every single time.......
Tigmanshu Dhulia of "Shagird" "Haasil" and "Bullet Raja" fame (to name just a few) launched his latest directorial venture "Raag Desh" with much fanfare on a rain drenched July 3 Mumbai evening........
According to one of Dhulia's long standing assistant directors; this venture will be based on the controversial and long debated Indian National Army Trials (founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose) and feature the highly underrated though supremely talented actors Kunal Kapoor; Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah in stellar roles.........
On being questioned about his decision to make a film on one of the nation's most debated and hotly contested trials Dhulia pithily alluded to the fact that this was a god send opportunity to chronicle a long forgotten and conveniently buried chapter of India's struggle for freedom from the British yoke as well as a glorious chance to acquaint today's generation with the indomitable sacrifices made by their forefathers in their heroic and stellar efforts to rid their motherland of the British scourge once and for all........
Extensively researched and more than appropriately mounted "Raag Desh" is slated to be one of Tigmanshu's most expensive productions till date and is slated to hit the screens in the first quarter of 2017 if everything goes as per schedule........
Here's wishing the cast and crew of "Raag Desh" god speed; good tidings; unprecedented success; critical acclaim and a plethora of both national and international awards.......
In my humble opinion (for whatever it is worth) films such as these are the crying need of the hour as today's "bubble gum" generation has all but forgotten our national icons who selflessly laid down their lives in the cause of the nation and taken to belittling both their soul stirring sacrifices and heroic deeds as the same were mere trivialities and epiphany's in their esteemed opinion........
