Even the eternal bard William Shakespeare would not have envisaged this "comedy of errors" during his hallowed and blessed lifetime......
One has often times heard of one making a cardinal error of judgement or recognition as in this tragi-comic case but a second person coming along and compounding the error is a first even for a jaded old soul like yours truly.......
Sample this for example; both the wives of 55 year old Eshwar Amarappa Hadapad a life long resident of Karnataka's Vijayapura taluk/area who were utterly fed up with his nocturnal habit of drinking himself into a stupor on any and every given night found their golden opportunity of ridding themselves of this niggling predicament and abject misery by allegedly wrongly identifying a seemingly anonymous body found in a semi decomposed state in one of it's numerous bylanes as his and even went ahead and performed the last rites on the same while donning the roles of grieving widows as soon as this farce was over and done with......
Little did they imagine that the man they despised and detested from the bottom of their hearts would resurrect himself from the dead and make a "spirited" entry into their midst a mere two days or so (on a fateful Tuesday afternoon) after having been banished from this sinful world for eternity on a stormy Sunday evening........
According to fellow residents of the area Hadapad who was a chronic alcoholic was estranged from both wives for a considerable period of time and admitted to a private hospital for the timely and efficacious treatment of a life threatening liver ailment that had afflicted him as a result of his penchant of consuming copious amounts of the heady stuff whenever the mood seized him and was discharged from the said medical facility on Tuesday morning after having made a seemingly miraculous recovery from a near hopeless situation........
In the interim his long suffering first wife who was notified that the afore mentioned body was recovered from the area's Tekade Galli by the local police sleuths identified the body as that of her one time husband's and alluded to the fact that the same must have decomposed and decayed as a consequence of his fondness for tipple and the like...........
His more recently separated second wife corroborated the first wife's version of events and the duo then proceeded to pool their resources and finances in order to bid their pet peeve a hasty departure from planet earth.......
As things stand at the present moment; Hadapad has promised to turn over a new leaf; make amends for his sinful and sordid past and do his utmost to keep both the women in his life in good humour as well as the material comforts that they so richly deserve after being tormented and tortured by him for long intervals.......
Whoever said that every dark cloud has a silver lining must surely have Hadapad and his two wives in ,mind while coining this eternal dictum........
