Do women hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh as well as the rest of mother India have the right of saying no whenever they want to or not........
A female resident of Akhilesh Yadav's utterly lawless and misogynistic Uttar Pradesh's Mathura city mustered up the courage and determination to say no to her legally wedded husband's unceasing and constantly increasing demands for coital pleasures and ended up paying with her life as a consequence........
According to the case's investigating officer; the main accused in this utterly despicable and dastardly murder 40 year old Birju callously and cold bloodedly strangled his wife (Heera Devi) of a little over two years standing as she steadfastly refused to accede to his demands for sex on the fateful night of May 20; 2016 and then disposed of her lifeless body by throwing the same into a dry well that was in close proximity to his humble abode........
Heera Devi's younger sister who grew increasingly suspicious about her sister's safety; security and well being as a result of her brother-in-law's evasive and contradictory statements about his better half's whereabouts smelled a rat and ended up filing a missing persons report at a neighbouring police kotwali......
Defying stereotypes and bucking the prevalent trend the local police sleuths swung into action with electrifying alacrity and subjected Birju to sustained and detailed interrogation and he broke down in the face of the same; confessed to his crime and even led the police to the well in which he had disposed of the mortal remains of his legally wedded wife........
In his confessional statement made before a judicial magistrate in accordance with section 163 of the Indian Penal Code Birju admitted that he had married the deceased a little over two years ago following the untimely demise of his first wife owing to a prolonged illness........
He further went on to say that he was transfixed by Heera Devi's feminine allure but she put paid to his amorous tendencies and insatiable appetite for sexual pleasures most of the time by refusing to become a willing participant in the sexual escapades conjured up by her husband.........
Having run out of patience and forbearance; Birju decided to end the relentless miseries inflicted upon him (in his misogynistic and utterly condemnable opinion) and decided to teach her a lesson that she would never forget; but little did he imagine that what began as a punishment would end up in this deadly and demonic manner as he went overboard in his misplaced and unjustified efforts to subjugate his wife's will and insurmountable spirit........
A case of murder has since been booked against the assailant and he has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the concerned legal luminary.......
Which brings me back to the moot question about whether or not an Indian woman has the right to refuse her husband's demands for coitus when she is not in the mood for the same????
