One of my favourite musicians or the should I say composers Vishal Dadlani has just ended up notching a distinction that will surely have his peers in the Hindi film industry going green with untold envy.......
Yes you did indeed hear or rather read it right this maverick 42 year old singer/composer has been approached by none other than the producers of the age old favourite "The Jungle Book" that is being reprised in it's umpteenth avatar and slated to hit the screens nationwide on April 8;2016.......
Vishal Dadlani has been roped in by the producers to render the Hindi version of the immortal "the bare necessities" that was picturised way back in 1967 on two of World Cinema's immortal characters Mowgli and Baloo the Bear for the first time........
Confirming the news that he has indeed been approached by the powers that be within Disney Studios (India) Vishal quipped that: "being selected to render the Hindi version of an immortal classic is indeed a rare honour and distinction that I have done nothing to deserve; but what petrifies me even more is the prospect of goofing up and making an utter fool of myself in an effort to do justice to an iconic and ageless composition that has more than withstood the test of time and become a part of cinematic history".........
" I really hope and pray that my fans as well as millions of fellow music lovers across the globe go on to love and cherish my version of "the bare necessities" and go on to shower the same love and affection that they did on the original", Vishal signs off with a quiver in his mellifluous voice.......
In the meanwhile it may also be worth one's while to note the fact that the Hindi version of the latest version of "The Jungle Book" will feature one of the nation's favourite heroines Priyanka Chopra as the voice of Kaa the slimy python (Snake); as well as iconic and noteworthy actors Irrfan Khan and Nana Patekar who will be lending their respective baritones to the unforgettable on screen characters of Baloo the friendly bear and Mowgli's nemesis the deadly tiger Shere Khan strictly in that order.........
Here's wishing all these notables as well as the producers of this venture unprecedented box office success as well as a clutch of awards at all the award functions and ceremonies that matter within the annals of the worldwide film industry.........
