DEATHLY REFUSAL.......

Do not commit the cardinal sin of denying you beloved husband his favourite dishes for dinner or he may end up resorting to such extreme measures that could leave you repenting for the rest of your life........
30 year old Dinesh Dantani a long term resident of Ahmedabad's sprawling AUDA colony (Naroda area) returned home in an inebriated state late on Friday night and beseeched his lawfully wedded wife of seven odd years to prepare his favourite meal of jeera rice and yellow lentils (dal) fo his final repast of the day.......
Thoroughly vexed with his offensive behaviour and bitterly complaining about his nocturnal tendency of returning home well past 11 pm on most weekends his irritated and incensed wife coldly apprised him of the fact that she had already prepared subji (vegetables); dal and roti for his dinner and was least inclined towards indulging him by preparing his desired meal........
A rather crestfallen; dejected and diffused Dinesh proceeded towards his bedroom following his wife's tirade and proceeded to lock/ensconce himself within the confines of the same and refused to step out despite his better half pleading with him........
After about half an hour or so Dinesh's thoroughly shaken and terrorised wife saw smoke emanating from beneath the door of the same room and started relentlessly banging the door while screaming at the top of her voice for help.........
Fellow residents of the colony who were both mystified as well as petrified by the lady's increasingly intense screams for help soon rushed to the spot and proceeded to break down the door of the said bedroom only to be confronted with the hellish site of a raging human inferno.........
Yes; you certainly have drawn the right conclusion; a thoroughly disillusioned and distressed Dinesh had doused himself from head to toe with the can of kerosene that was more often than not kept in the bedroom to be used during power cuts and unforeseen emergencies in the kitchen and then proceeded to set himself ablaze with the lighter that was an inescapable part of his persona........
Somehow or the other; the fellow residents of the colony who had rushed to Dinesh's modest residence successfully managed to douse the flames and rush a grievously injured or then should I say mangled Dinesh to the city's civil hospital where the doctors on duty at the time ruled his chances of survival as extremely bleak to nil as he had suffered more than 80% burns as a consequence of his seemingly insane and eccentric/quixotic actions.......
Police personnel from the adjoining police station who were alerted about the ghastly incident by the hospital authorities duly proceeded to record Dinesh's dying declaration (he passed away within six hours or so after being admitted to the hospital) in which he held himself directly responsible for the gruesome fate that had befallen him and blamed none else apart from himself for his heart rending plight.......
He also elucidated the fact that he had resorted to this extreme measure in a moment of insanity and that he forgave his loving and caring wife for the real/imagined slights that she had committed by steadfastly and vehemently refusing to prepare his desired meal.......
Which brings us back to the moot question about whether or not wives should refuse their husband's pleadings for their favourite/desired meals irrespective of the prevalent/present circumstances..........
