Will "Mr. Cricket" former Australian middle order batsman extraordinaire Michael Hussey succeed present Indian coach Duncan Fletcher once his current contract expires after the conclusion of World Cup 2015........
Well; the cricketing grapevine has it that Mahendar Singh Dhoni who may have hung up his whites for good a mere three or so days ago and is being tipped to lead team India in the shorter version of the game did bring the matter up with BCCI head honcho N. Srinivasan and other such bigwigs and received a favourable response........
One may do well to recover the fact that Messrs Dhoni and Gary Kirsten shared a rather congenial and harmonious captain-coach relationship that took team India to the much coveted number 1 position in all three formats of the game and Dhoni wants to recreate the same magic and dressing room atmosphere in conjunction with his former Chennai Super Kings team mate who has precious little coaching experience.........
According to a Dhoni acolyte; Hussey's take no prisoners nature; combative spirit; uncompromising work ethic; cricketing acumen and experience is what team India is missing at the current time and appointing Michael Hiussey as team India coach for a three year period migh only serve to usher in the second homecoming of the Indian cricket team......
While Dhoni's proposal does seem to make immense cricketing as well as conventional sense; one really wonders whether his chosen candidate Michael Hussey will find favour with a dispensation that is not entirely favourable to Messrs Dhoni; Srinivasan and their acolytes if rumours floating thick and fast about a rift between Messrs Ravi Shastri; Kohli; Dhoni and the pro and anti Srinivasan camps are to be believed.........
Rumours or otherwise; one only hopes and prays that the new ruling dispensation that takes the reins from Messrs Srinivasan and Dhoni does whatever is best for Indian cricket and appoints a coach who is totally committed to furthering the cause of Indian cricket and taking it to the pinnacle of cricketing glory in the foreseeable future......
