Does fathering a daughter bestow unto the father the right to force himself on her as and when he pleases and grotesquely end her budding life if she refuses or wards of his unwelcome sexual overtures?????why, simply because this Bihar based butcher masquerading as a father certainly thought so.........
A 45 year old male resident of the Mustaffaganj village in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district mercilessly hacked his 19 year old married daughter to death with a fodder cutter (dabia) as she disdainfully dismissed his sexual overtures and declined to give into his incestual demands under his very own roof............
This macabre incident occurred at around 4 am on the fateful Thursday morning (October 9,2014) when Raktu Prasad (45); main accused in the case, widower and father of 5 young children entered his house in an inebriated condition and unceremoniously barged into the room occupied by his 19 year old recently married daughter and his son-in-law one Ranjit Kumar...........
Raktu Prasad not only forced his way into the room but also wanted to settle down for the night with the recently married couple; a heated and and raucous quarrel ensued between Raktu and Ranjit following which Raktu picked up the fodder cutter (dabia) lying in a corner of the said room and threatened to hack Ranjit to pieces with the same if he did not vacate the room immediately..........
Fearing for his life and limb; Ranjit wended his way out of the room as well as humble dwelling following which Raktu closed the door and began forcing himself on his recently married 19 year old daughter (she and Ranjit were bethroted only 4 months or so ago); to his considerable consternation and dismay; his daughter (Raktu's daughter) started raising a din and screaming for help; alarmed and distressed by the same; Raktu firstly tried to muzzle her voice and throttle her and subsequently hacked her to death with the fodder cutter when his attempts to subdue her did not have the desired result.........
In the meanwhile; Ranjit, the SHO of the nearby Meenapur police chowki or station; Madan Kumar Singh made their way to Raktu's house following Ranjit's registration of a FIR against his father-in-law only to find Ranjit's wife and daughter lying in a lifeless heap on the floor with at least 15-20 copiously bleeding wounds visible on her neck; hands; legs and abdomen.........
A detailed physical examination of the victim by the SHO conclusively proved the fact that she had indeed breather her last as a result of the grievous wounds inflicted on her by her father who had mostly recovered his senses by then and repeatedly confessed to his heinous and dastardly crime.........
What however caught the assembled police personnel by complete surprise was the fact that Raktu also went on to admit to the fact that he had hung his wife up from the ceiling of this very same house a little over 2 years ago and then dressed up or staged the crime scene to make it appear as though his spouse had committed suicide..........
Raktu is currently cooling his heels as well as ardour in the Patna Central Jail while his remaining (surviving) four offspring/children; the youngest of whom happens to be a son have since been shifted to a state run home for children by the police personnel.........
And to think that we continue to vehemently and vociferously oppose and ridicule human rights watchdog Amnesty International's startling and highly distressing claims about 85% of all child/teenage rapes within the family home being perpetrated by the father; brother; uncle; cousin brother or some other close blood relative..........;
