An irate and incensed fruit vendor inhumanly and grotesquely hacked a 26 year old widow and her mother to death in Andhra Pradesh's Malavalli village (Krishna District) on Thursday morning as the widow repeatedly spurned his sexual overtures and her mother backed her daughter every time she turned her unwelcome suitor away.........
According to petrified villagers and neighbours Potla Sivaiah (the accused fruit vendor) forcibly entered Challa Chinni (the 26 year old widow) and Chandramma's (the victim's mother) humble abode by breaking down the door inflicted grievous injuries on the duo, chopped or more precisely hacked away their heads from their bodies in an utterly butcherly and barbaric manner and topped up or compounded his satanic act by throwing away the heads of the mother and daughter into the adjoining fields before making good his escape from the village.........
"Challa Chinni had begun living with her mother some three or so years ago as her husband passed away within a year of their marriage and her in laws turned her away; Potla Sivaiah had been relentlessly pursuing Chinni ever since she moved in with her mother and coerce her into bestowing sexual favours on him, but Chinni always used to turn him away to his dismay and uncontrollable rage"... ...........
"Sivaiah then began promising marriage to Chinni in a bid to win over her affections, but the same had little or no effect on Chinni who once again rejected him on the grounds that he was already married and a father of three children to boot, fed up with his mindless antics and fearful of her daughter's safety, Chandramma had also threatened Sivaiah with a police complaint if he did not stop harassing and stalking her daughter immediately"..........
"A thoroughly inebriated and incensed Sivaiah then proceeded to break down the door to the women's dwelling and forcibly entered the same early on the fateful Thursday morning, he then held the sickle in his hand to Chinni's throat and tried to force himself upon her, however both Chinni as well as her mother put up a stern fight unmindful of the fact that Sivaiah was armed with a sickle and could cause serious damage to both their lives and limbs"..........
"The inevitable happened as we watched on in mute horror, Sivaiha kept hacking away at the mother and daughter and they were soon reduced to profusely bleeding heaps of humanity who had collapsed at their assailants feet; Sivaiah then proceeded to drag the two bodies into the street one by one and then compounded or crowned his murderous act by chopping off the heads of the mother and daughter, throwing them into the nearby fields and throwing them into the nearby fields all the while brandishing his bloodied sickle as some kind of guarantee against the interference by any able bodied man who would manage to summon up the courage"............
"None of us came to the aid of the mother and daughter as we feared for our own as well as our children's lives and the men of the village only made a beeline to the nearby police station at the behest of the village elders well after an hour or so had elapsed since Sivaiah made good his escape from the spot", a petrified and quivering female neighbour signed off..............
As is shown in almost all Hindi movies, the cops arrived on the scene well after two hours after Sivaiah's departure, took stock of the macabre spectacle that confronted them and proceeded to set up six special teams in a bid to apprehend the absconding fugitive from justice at the earliest...........
What I for one fail to understand is the fact how one solitary man armed with a sickle reduced hundreds of fellow villagers (irrespective of sex) to a bunch of cowering cowards who preferred to look on in abject horror and stoic silence while the demon in a man's guise was giving full vent to his satanic verses; I for one would only be satisfied when the local police arrested every able bodied man as an aider and abettor and produced them before the courts for their due sentencing as an iota of collective courage on their parts might well have saved the mother and daughter from their grotesque and diabolic deaths..........
