KEVIN PIETERSEN FLOPS YET AGAIN IN SURREY COLOURS........

English cricket icon Kevin Pietersen's latest bid to show the English cricketing authorities his true worth came unstuck as he was dismissed for a measly or pithy individual score of five (5) in a domestic twenty 20 clash against arch rivals Essex at the iconic Oval cricket ground in London........
Pietersen who was turning out in Surrey colours after a none too memorable outing in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 edition in which he skippered the Delhi Daredevils franchise to a last place finish was well caught at long on by the Kolkata Knight Rounders all rounder Ryan Ten Doeschate of the bowling of former England team mate Ravi Bopara...........
Pietersen who was plagued by a finger injury throughout the length of the IPL and even missed the first few matches on account of the same recently tweeted that he had fully recovered from the same and was eagerly looking forward to make the English selectors as well as team management who had put a full stop to his international cricketing career after a particularly acrimonious and humiliating Ashes series down under "humble pie", but, unfortunately the joke seemed to be on him.........
Pietersen who sauntered out to the middle after the fall of the first Surrey wicket nudged his way to five with relative comfort when his mistimed effort to hoist Bopara over the ropes ended in the safe hands of Doeschate; to add insult to injury, the very same Ravi Bopara had been teased and provoked by a message that said, "mate don't let me get you out" earlier in the day (Friday) on twitter.........
Alas! that is precisely what happened and Pietersen's county side which struggled it's way to 151/6 after Pietersen's cheap and utterly avoidable dismissal found itself at the receiving end as Essex overhauled it's paltry score with consummate ease and emerged creditable victors with nearly two overs to spare largely due to the sparkling efforts of New Zealand discard Jesse Ryder and journeyman Ryan Ten Doeschate who plies his trade in twenty 20 leagues all round the world..........
Here's wishing Kevin Pietersen better luck and glad tidings for his next outing in Surrey colours.......
