DELHI POLICE DOES IT AGAIN..........

Trust a police force that swears to be with you and for you all the time to do the wrong thing by the Aam Aadmi all the time......
In the latest instance of officiousness, misplaced bravado and overzealousness, the Delhi Police has proceeded to file a FIR under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to fraud and cheating against some AAP members who allegedly joined the fledgling party without dissociating themselves from their parent party........
According to police sources, these members were originally associated with an obscure and largely unknown outfit calling itself the Janrajya Party and these very same members shifted to AAP without submitting their resignations to either the convenor or some other responsible person within the echelons of the Janrajya Party........
Furthermore, the Delhi Police alleges that these members submitted fake documents relating to their political affiliations and the like at the time of their joining the Aam Aadmi Party and are hence liable for prosecution under the ambit of the provisions of the anti defection law citing an official complaint filed by the convenor of the so called Janrajya Party.......... ..
In their defence, the members who have been booked say that more than 2/3rds of the members of the now defunct Janrajya Party switched over to the Aam Aadmi Party and hence the terms and conditions of the Anti Defection Law do not apply in this case as the same is rendered null and void if 2/3rds or more of the members of one political party defect or then switch their allegiance to some other political party.........
And last but not the least, the so called Janrajya Party is only a "registered" party with the Election Commission of India and not duly "recognised" by this constitutional body and as per the conditions mandated under the said Anti Defection Law being touted by the Delhi Police, members of only "recognised" and not "registered" parties can be prosecuted or pulled up under the much abused Anti Defection Law.........
As one AAP member affected by the whimsical actions of the Delhi Police quipped "why does not the Delhi Police take cognisance of the Election Commission's notings and rulings on the same issue when two duly elected Members of Parliament belonging to Jagan Mohan Reddy's party switched sides and joined the Telugu Desam Party as the same also pertained to the question of "recognised" and "registered" parties.........
A clear case of overzealousness and yet another attempt to appease and propitiate their political masters or then a sage attempt to uphold the provisions of the law without fear, favour, affection or ill will; well I leave you to draw your own conclusions in this case...........
