Yearning to settle scores with a spiteful and antagonistic neighbour but do not have the wherewithal to do it on your own, why fear when you can get your faithful dog to do the needful on your behalf........
In a tragi-comic incident that certainly seems to be bordering on the bizarre, a women resident of the national capital's Lajpat Nagar locality had her neighbour (another woman) bitten and brutalised by her faithful and obedient pet dog as the woman in question constantly objected to the dog's presence in the vicinity of the common staircase.........
Seema Dutta (the faithful dog's owner) was ever resentful of her neighbour's constant sniping and implied threats to get her dog impounded, "these constant and ever present threats on the part of her neighbour seemed to have pushed Seema over the edge and that is why she retaliated in this manner", a third neighbour opined........
Though the bruised and battered victim has since been discharged from hospital,(the incident took place on Thursday evening) a case has been duly registered against Seema Dutta under Section 289 of the IPC (negligent conduct with respect to one's pet animal) at the Lajpat Nagar Police Station........
To provide the reader with a little background to the loony incident, the victim Kavita Menghaney resides on the II nd floor whereas the accused Seema Dutta resided on the floor directly below her.......
In her complaint the victim alleged that Seema Dutta always kept her dog leashed in front of her house and the dog would constantly bark and growl at anybody who used the common staircase and all complaints to Seema would be met with the standard answer of use the lift if you are so scared or afraid of my dog.........
"Since I am extremely claustrophobic and harbour an intense dislike of closed and confined spaces I once again requested Seema to restrain her dog on that fateful Thursday evening, but to my intense disbelief she just flew off the handle and ordered her dog to bite me and the faithful dog did exactly that by biting me on my right ankle".........
" I was rushed to the government run Safdarjung Hospital and promptly treated for the injuries inflicted on my ankle by the dog though I am deeply shaken by my ordeal and hope that better sense prevails in the end", the long suffering victim Kavita wistfully signs off........
Modern day living certainly does have it's pitfalls and predicaments or then should I say idiosyncracies, retaliating to constant and incessant complaints from neighbours and fellow residents with a dog bite; whatever next??????
