YET ANOTHER BUILDING COLLAPSES..........

Residents of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad woke up to the horrifying and heart rending news of one of the city's iconic land marks; the City Light hotel having come down or then collapsed like the proverbial pack of cards......

The City Light hotel located on the city's bustling Rashtrapati is an unremarkable and nondescript two storied structure that has been around for as long as one can care to remember........

It was slated for demolition along with two hundred similar age old structures in the vicinity , but the owners of this iconic institution had approached the high court and obtained a temporary stay order against it's demolition......

For reasons yet to be ascertained and established beyond all reasonable doubt, the hotel seemed to implode on itself and came down with a resounding crash at around 6:30 am this morning (Monday morning) if the renditions and accounts of eyewitnesses to this spectacular collapse are any yardstick or measure to go by.......

Police, fire fighting and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials and aid workers had successfully managed to extricate 11 persons from the rubble according to the latest reports, these people or persons have been rushed to the government managed and run Gandhi hospital and the condition of a few amongst them is slated to be critical.......

Numerous auto drivers, rickshaw pullers and daily wage workers were frequenting the hotel for their daily fix of Irani tea, khajur and biscuits when the structure collapsed upon them without as much as a warning according to eye witness accounts.......

Six bodies have so far been removed or recovered from under the debris or ruins of this hotel and 11 injured people have been rushed to the Gandhi hospital, while a minimum of 20 people are still feared to be trapped under the rubble of the structure.......

Experts from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have been requested to rush to the spot and take charge of rescue and relief operations according to highly placed police sources........

Efforts have also been initiated to apprehend the owner/s of the property and the city police is confident about nabbing or arresting them within the course of the next few hours or then by the end of the day.........

The number of dead or deceased is expected to go up exponentially as scores of people still remain trapped under the rubble and debris........

A "STAGED" KIDNAPPING..........

The insatiable lust for money and the unquenchable thirst for all things material is now threatening to tear families asunder as enterprising (???) youngsters have started staging their own kidnappings in a misplaced and misguided effort to satiate their material urges.........

A 20 year old youngster belonging to Noida was found guilty of engineering or then staging his own kidnapping by a bewildered, flummoxed and flabbergasted police force......

Amit Kumar a resident of Llahabans sector II in Noida had supposedly left for his private coaching or tuition classes when he was allegedly abducted en route on the fateful morning of July 4, 2013........

The allegedly abducted Amit Kumar was carrying an amount of Rupees 4,500 on his personage or self at the very moment when he was abducted or kidnapped......

The harrowed, worried and woebegone family subsequently received a ransom call from the supposed kidnappers asking them to deposit a sum of Rs. 20 lakh at a spot to be disclosed in a second telephone call and also carried an implied threat about causing grievous harm to Amit if the details regarding the kidnapping were shared with any third source especially the police........

A close relative Davinder Singh however remained sane and alive to the situation and took upon himself the onerous responsibility of acquainting the area police with the tragedy or calamity that had befallen the family........

On it's part, displaying remarkable alacrity, the Noida police swung into action the very minute it received a written complaint in this regard from the victim's uncle Davinder Singh and managed to trace or locate Amit and his close friend and confidante Naveen to the Tughlaqabad metro station in the Badarpur area of New Delhi........

Amit and his close friend and confidante Naveen broke down under the sustained and relentless police interrogation and revealed the rather startling and disturbing fact that the tow of them had masterminded and staged the "fake" kidnapping in order to grab a substantial sum of money from Amit's family.........

Amit also disclosed the fact that he desperately wanted this money in order to launch or start a new business venture or enterprise as he was tired of being stuck in the "typical" middle class glut and wanted to strike it big in order to satisfy his constantly increasing desire for designer wear and high end gadgets.........

Cases have been booked under relevant and applicable sections of the Indian penal code against the main accused and his cohort and they are presently cooling their heels in judicial custody.......

And so the ever increasing or then insatiable thirst for all things material continues unabated........

TEACHERS OR SATAN REINCARNATES??????

Teachers, Educationists and Principals seem to be becoming a law unto themselves, what with their unreasonable and highly objectionable demand pertaining to students performing the duties of their personal vassals, maid servants, masseurs, so on and so forth.......

Adding to the student's agony is the dictum pertaining to the teacher being a guru and hence above most if not all reproach and that his "sacred" word should be honoured at all cost that is deeply ingrained in the minds, hearts and souls of students embarking upon an academic career in semi-urban as well as rural India......

Unfortunately, the above mentioned dictum is being blatantly misused by a few unscrupulous and remorseless teachers who have readily embraced the fact that children studying in their schools are nothing more than personal servants and their only purpose in life is to satisfy their whims and fancies.......

One such incident has come to light or then been reported from the Parshuram Defence Academy in Hissar, Haryana where two students respectively aged 8 and 11 steadfastly refused to resume their schooling after the recent summer vacations drew to a close......

According to the hapless students and their worried parents the domineering Principal of this residential school used to summon the students at odd hours and demand a complete body massage from them as if the same was his god given right......

He also used to mercilessly beat up the students and submit them to other forms of vile punishments and tortures whenever the students refused to accede to his unreasonable and unjustified demands according to the harrowed parents.......

On being asked why the children did not want to go back to their school after their summer educations and resume their education, the boys broke down and narrated their traumatic tale of being summoned to his living quarters by the Principal Bhagwan Sharma between 9 pm and 11 pm and being asked to massage his semi clad body......

"The boys were traumatised and terrified beyond all reasonable limits and the very mention of the word massage used to elicit petrified responses from them", the father of one of the boys who refused to rejoin the school alleged in his written complaint about the unbecoming conduct and reprehensible behaviour of this demon masquerading as a principal to the Hissar Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Agarwal.......

"This very same principal had also threatened the boys with dire consequences if they narrated their sorry tale of exploitation and blatant misuse to either their parents or any other elderly person of any consequence", the harrowed mother of one of the boys went on to allege......

On his part, the DCP has forwarded the complaint of the parents to the sub-divisional magistrate and ordered him to carry out a detailed investigation into this unfortunate episode........

The main accused Sharma however dismisses the charges levelled against him as a conspiracy being hatched by a few parents with an ulterior motive, protests his innocence and attributes the matter to a trivial issue pertaining to the fees chargeable from the students........

One wonders whatever happened to the age old "Guru Shishya" parampara and the dictum about the teacher being a "second parent".........

APEX COURT CRACKS THE WHIP.......

Trust the Supreme court mandarins or then should I say honourable judges to tell it like it is......

Mincing no words whatsoever and without pulling it's punches, the Supreme Court came down on hapless politicians occupying official bungalows in Lutyen's Delhi well beyond their expiry date like the proverbial tonne of bricks......

The Supreme Court even went to the extreme end of issuing guidelines clearly laying down specified time limits when it came to government officials, bureaucrats, judges and members of parliament vacating their official residences either on their superannuation/retirement or then as soon as they ceased to be members of parliament...

It also took strong exception to the nocturnal practice of the setting up of memorials and museums in honour of leaders of a bygone era saying that the "government of the day can earmark additional or appropriate space for this purpose if it so deigns, but the resident of the property had no business whatsoever to turn the space occupied by him/her into a museum or memorial as the space allotted to him/her never belonged to them to begin with", is the speaker of the Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar listening?????.......

The bench of the apex court headed by chief justice incumbent P. Sathasivam duly noted that all judges would vacate their official residences within a thirty (30) day period from their date of retirement and the grace period shall be fifteen (15) days in the case of bureaucrats, civil servants and other government employees......

The grace period shall be extendable up to a maximum of two months (60 days) in the case of the members of parliament and the estate department shall enjoy the express right to bring up transgressions to either the notice of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha or then the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha as the case may be.......

The speaker of the Lok Sabha in turn would immediately refer the matter to the house committee that would immediately initiate measures to ensure compliance with the Supreme Court Guidelines......

Will the powers that be within the echelons of the government at long last pay heed to the guidelines laid down by the honourable Supreme Court or then as is their age old practice brush off the warnings by saying that, "these guidelines are merely a statement of intent and hence do not have any legal bearing whatsoever on the ancient practice of occupying governmental accommodation as long as you remain close to the corridors of power"?????, well your guess or surmise on that one is as good as mine..........

WORKPLACES: SAFE NO LONGER?????

Reposing dollops of faith in one's professional or then should I say work place colleagues and moving around with them at all hours of the day has become the norm rather than the exception in India's metropolitan cities; but can you always take your colleagues at face value and repose your trust in them, certainly not if the following incident is any yardstick or measure to go by......

A middle aged woman was sexually assaulted (raped) by two of her work place or office colleagues after the two laced a soft drink offered to her with sedatives.......

The woman in question a resident of the national capital's Madhu Vihar area in a complaint to the police alleged that two of her colleagues Ravindra and Lokendra repeatedly raped her, with two more male colleagues Rakesh and Jai Singh goading them on without actively participating in the demeaning and grotesque act.....

All the four accused are colleagues of the victim and gainfully employed with her in the same company/private concern in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar.....

The events unfolded in the following manner late on Wednesday night; the four accused firstly offered the victim a lift in their car and offered her a sedative laced/laden cold drink en route..........

They then drove the car to a secluded and deserted where two of them deigned to force themselves on the semi conscious victim and repeatedly sexually assault her......

The victim was found by residents of the national capitals Dilshad Garden area very late on Wednesday night/early Thursday morning and they in turn informed the local police station........

The victim was then rushed to a nearby medical facility and the police recorded her statement in which she named the four accused and squarely laid the blame for her pitiable predicament at their doorstep........

A detailed medical examination performed on the victim at the very same medical facility has conclusively established the incidence of rape and the local cops have launched a massive manhunt to nab the four culprits who still remain at large........

Wither trust, friendship, confidence in each other, ideals, values, morals, men-women equations and age old workplace ethics........

MURDER FOR MATERIAL GAIN.........

Greed, avarice and an unquenchable thirst or then should I say yearning for all things material seem to be ruling over our sense of perception, fairness and temperance if the below mentioned incident is any yardstick or parameter to go by.......

A devious and evil minded tenant brutally attacked and murdered his ageing landlord in a furtive and misplaced attempt to usurp and take over his property by using means both reprehensible as well as condemnable......

Rajesh a 36 year old driver by profession firstly attacked and then subsequently strangled his 55 year old landlord to death in the national capital's Bhajanpura locality late on Monday night.......

His crime came to light when the sister of the victim (landlord) saw Rajesh making a hurried and tardy attempt at getting rid off the incriminating evidence that could see him spending a considerable period of time behind bars in a constricted and stifling jail cell by burying the body in a secluded and relatively less inhabited area.....

He was apprehended or then taken into custody on the very same night by alert police officials who swung into action as soon as they received a telephone call from the deceased's sister duly informing them about Rajesh's misdeeds and nefarious activities....

During the course of sustained and exhaustive interrogation Rajesh shed light on his reasons (motives) for having carried out the gruesome act; according to him, "ha had failed to pay his rent for the last three months and was being threatened with immediate eviction by his landlord time and again"........

"Not knowing what else to do I attacked the middle aged gent and then strangled him as I though that this would not only shut him up for good, but also enable me to transfer his property on my name"..........

Well, Rajesh's hasty and mistimed actions took him everywhere else but where he planned to be, he dreamt of a secure future under a roof acquired by snuffing out a fellow beings life; but will instead spend a considerable part of his natural life incarcerated in a dark, dingy and desolate jail cell......

Ill conceived, hasty and misguided actions only end up causing more harm than good to the perpetrator more often than not, so pause, prevaricate and ponder for a suitably long interval before giving in to the urges of Satan or then Shaitaan as you prefer to call him........

TIME FOR A RETHINK??????

The horror definitely seems unending and something out of a bad dream for the national capital's young girls and women......

In the latest instance of sexual exploitation and horror in the national capital, a 16 year old girl was first enticed away from her safe haven, kept hostage in a house not too far away from hers and repeatedly raped over a four day period by her assailant and tormentor.......

The victim a class VII student of a Delhi municipality school and a resident of the east Delhi slum cluster of Kalyanpuri was lured away from her surroundings by 24 year old Chandan, her neighbour and sometime friend.......

Chandan managed to lure her away from her humble abode on the pretext of showing her a Hindi film, proceeded to restrict or then confine her to his friend's house for four days and satisfy his convoluted carnal pleasures by repeatedly forcing himself on the hapless and defenceless girl........

The girl's parents had taken recourse to due process of law and even filed a missing complaint with the local police station on June 21 clearly stating that their daughter had been missing for well over a day now.....

Launching a search and rescue operation without any further ado, the local cops managed to trace the girl's where about's to Chandan's friend Pramod's residence which happened to be located a few kilometres away from where both Chandan as well as the victim lived or resided......

The girl broke down and apprised both the local police officials as well as her parents of the sordid fact that Chandan had not only repeatedly forced himself on her, but also made a furtive attempt to palm her off to a brothel in the national capital's red light area.......

Chandan and his accomplice or comrade in arms Pramod were nabbed by the local police from Chandan's residence late on Monday night and since been remanded to judicial custody, cases have been booked against the two of them under all applicable and relevant sections of the Indian penal code.....

Counsellors and such notable others from a local NGO are counselling the victim and making a noble effort towards helping her cope with the sense of trauma, shame and ignominy that the brutal assault on her has subjected her too.......

Time to take a long, hard and dispassionate look at the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital especially when it comes to the safety and security of women and make the Delhi Police Commissioner answerable to a popularly elected chief minister rather than the lieutenant governor and home ministry as is the present practice methinks, what do you think??????

A SENSELESS MURDER..........

The national capital certainly does not seem to be doing migrant labourers or then young men from neighbouring states any favours either due or undue, what with the budding life of an innocent teenager being cruelly snuffed out on Monday......

An eighteen (18) year old boy was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants/ attackers in the wee hours of Monday morning right outside his humble dwelling in a South Delhi locality.......

Sarvesh a migrant labourer from the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh was found in a pool of blood right outside his humble abode in South Delhi's Amar Colony locality by his neighbours in the wee hours of Monday morning.......

The very same neighbours rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival; a deep cut/ gash on his neck is being touted as the most probable cause for his untimely death as the post mortem report of the victim is awaited.......

A case of murder/unnatural/suspicious death has been registered by the officials of the area police station and the due process of questioning his neighbours and acquaintances has been initiated........

Police sources revealed that this seems to be either a case of either a love affair gone wrong or deep rooted personal animosity as the economic circumstances of the victim did not point towards a murder for profit.......

Murder for whatever reason or then by any other name is just as foul, offensive, reprehensible and condemnable; the law and order situation in the national capital seems to be going from bad to worse with each passing day and only a concerted effort on the part of both the political as well as police establishment would suffice to redeem to the rapidly deteriorating situation and usher in a modicum of confidence in the hearts and souls of crores of Delhiites...........
